Definitely. We should do a thread for the Silverstone 1000KM when that comes round in a few months, it's basically the same cars and an endurance race(just a bit shorter than this;)).👍

Wonder if Peugeot will beat Audi there lol.

Well done Audi, this year's Le Mans shown Peugeot that speed is not enough there (and gave them a lesson on how to remain "humble" when facing such a hard race and such a worthy opponent).

I feel very sorry for the Highcroft team, and I just wish them back next year, better prepared. Le Mans is a class apart from every other ALMS or ELMS race.

Latest blog entry from Brabs, you can tell he isn't exactly happy, but jut the fact that he recorded it to us fans deserves respect.

I'd like to publicly thank Tommi2000 as he, probably unknown to everyone else, but as I was DJ'ing last night he kept texting me updates to what was going on, it is really appreciated and helped me keep in touch with the race just a little bit more 👍

Thanks buddy, take it as repayment for last year.

Excellent race, I really enjoyed what I managed to see of it. Very surprised that Audi managed to take the win for it. But really pleased for them 👍 Congrats to Larbe, finally Saleen have won it. I would have preferred Aston to win GT1 but not everything you want can happen.

I'd like to echo what Tommi said, it's been a great community here for the time I've been watching. I'm gutted I didn't get to watch the whole race but even still that doesn't stop the whole feel. Thanks again guys, it's been awesome.

Fantastic. Now that's the true spirit of this forum! Brilliant stuff, well done Tommi!

I apologise if I've been sounding a bit depressive, I have really enjoyed this race, it was a typical 24hr rollercoaster! You guys made it special. Great stuff.

Fantastic way to go for the Saleen, at last! After 10 years of trying :D

What an experiance, my first ever 24hr race, controversy, stupid driving, great driving, errors, mechanical failures, crashes, the beauty of Le Mans at night, great banter on here and intelligent discussion, fantastic moments from Hindy in commentary, moments of intregue, suspense, drama, gut-wrenching dispair and sheer delightful victory :)

 all! A toast! To the GTP Community, and coming back here next year, and to sportscar racing and endurance racing, and the lasting health of it! (drinks) :)

Thanks again, Tommi for ruining the chances of every team I supported.

And finally, RIP the V12 engine at Le Mans.

As I said earlier, this was my first time watching the race and I must say this was an incredible experience (both good and bad)!

So, what happened to the JLOC??
Retired, but their new R-SV def. ran better than previous cars. However, JLOC still failed to get a proper setup for Le Mans, as they again used Super GT experience to race.

As I said last year, I really think Reiter should be the one to run Lamborghini at Le Mans. If not, they should have invited All-Inkl over JLOC. The R-SV is finally doing Lamborghini some good in GT1 racing and Reiter is the only one who could capitalize on Le Mans.

Next year will be interesting though. 2011 marks the FIA GT2 Championship & if rumors are true, Reiter may have a Gallardo ready for teams by the end of this year.

Thanks again, Tommi for ruining the chances of every team I supported.

And finally, RIP the V12 engine at Le Mans.

A minutes' silence please, for the passing of the V12 engine at Le Mans.

And a minute's applause for the GT1 Class, much loved across the years...

 It's funny because it true

I know, it's freaked me out more than anything.:scared:

I'm going to get a shower, some food and then im going to fire up the PS3, set up my DFGT and race driver grid. I'll be doing my own Le Mans 24 hours.(Admittedly not for as long or with many current cars though).:)

Congragulations Audi, a deserved win - steady, consistent and reliable with very little time spent in the pits is how to do it. 👍
As I said earlier in the thread - nice to see a new driver line up win the race too.

Peugeot - didn't learn lessons from years previously, went flat out and suffered the consequences. Overall a very dumb race from them really, especially if it turns out they knew those engines couldn't take the punishment. Clearly they were trying to build a big enough lead so they could turn down the engines for a while, but it was totally the wrong strategy.

Nice to finally see a Saleen win the race it was built for, deserved winners for LMP2, GT1 and GT2. All good racing.

Been a great race, loads of drama. I didn't stay up and watch it all but it was great to keep up where possible in this thread. 👍

A final note on the Davidson incident: I would have to see more footage before the incident and from different angles to really judge it. From that particular angle and timing it looked like Davidson didn't really do anything wrong but it doesn't tell the full story. At the very least I am disappointed with the rather arrogant attitudes going around Peugeot, especially from Ant. 👎

Yep ! In LMP2, first one for Honda + Strakka Racing with their ARX-01 LMP2 sports prototype. 1st participation, finished 1st !!! Very good !

Totally agree with you 👍 ! Would like to see more of that and also disappointed with the arrogant attitudes !

At least though, Peugeot management was sporting in defeat, as they went to the Audi garage to congragulate them. 👍 (probably returning the favour as I remember Ulrich doing the same last year)
But they really need to get their act together next year with their do or die mentality. Although, saying that, it did make this race more exciting to watch rather than all teams taking it steady and waiting for each other to pop.

So, I kind of do want to see Peugeot always going all out fast but if they really want to win they need a better strategy. The arrogance though is unnecessary.

I don't think the accident was particularly anyones fault (But if it was anyones, it was Davidson's, though we need to see earlier footage that the vid posted a few pages ago). But there was no need for the arrogance on his part. If that had been an LMP1 car running slower than he, would he have done the same thing? Probably not. He probably thinks it's like F1 with the backmarkers making way.

Unless I'm mistaken that is the exact same angle as the other one which was posted.

It is, pretty much the same thing as the one I posted, but shows more before the accident. With it being the world feed, I don't know if they have another angle.

I think the biggest congrats goes to the Saleen in GT1. He got out in front relatively early (just before halfway) and held onto the lead for the rest of the race. Good job for them.

Good job to Spyker for a top ten finish...although, they finished 5th last hear and only got a top ten this year because there were less than ten cars in the GT2 line-up. Looking forward to see who enters the GTE classes next year.

Thanks for the fun guys, I'm looking forward to next year! :D Hopefully next year I'll stay up and watch the whole darn thing!!! :D Congrats to Audi, Straker, Saleen, and Porsche on winning Le Mans. It was a crazy race this year! Oh, note to Mr. Anthony Davidson: You probably will NOT be well welcomed in the city of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Just letting you know. ---- Randy

Actually, they didn't. They weren't pushing it at all as Marc Gene showed what the 908 really could do when pushed. It just looks like Peugeot were being struck by mechanical whoes like in 2007 again. They were without any doubt in a class of their own, but in only a few hours it all went horribly wrong. Endurance racing is about going only as hard as you need to, but for Peugeot that seemed to have backfired this year...

Bah, I am absolutely gutted that it's yet another entire podium filled with Audis. Not saying I don't think they don't deserve it, but still. Not even an Aston was close to finishing on the podium!

On that, what an ironic class win for the Saleen, but a beautiful one nonetheless.

May I also thank all the GTP members for a great 24 hours of Le Mans, even though all the teams I have been cheering for have retired 👍

Now if you excuse me, it's time for some Porsche NGT goodness in GTR!

I really wanted to see at least one of the Peugeot winning the race, at least they are advertising GT5. I think they should slow down to minimize wear.
