! I'm surprised someone actually still reply to this, hahahaha. Sankyuu~<3 :embarrassed:! Well..anyways..I have been hearing about all of this weather and details of cars complaints recently and I find it weird :odd:. I guess people forget already that it is "The Real DRIVING Simulator" instead of "The Real Graphics Simulator" or even "The Real LIFE Simulator". I have never heard people complain about physics of the driving in this game,so I believe it holds true to "The Real DRIVING Simulator" and I respect that :P! I don't know about everyone around me,but I play games to escape reality, therefore if a game does not live up to the expectations of "reality",then it doesn't bother me really, because I find it to be very understandable. I believe I would find it rather weird if I could play reality on my television,so I will be fine playing games that possibly come close to reality, but not and I will not complain about such details, because then if I worry about as much,I should not even play the game !

WELL SAID... 👍

First of all,

To AE86 and the other 24 hour endurers,

Otsukare-chan! 👍

Next,

How about a club for people who actually managed to read this whole thread! 💡 :)

I was taking a break from doing the 1000 mile championship, and feeling quite proud of myself at that, when I decided to log on and look for info about doing endurance races. I see I got a ways to go.

Anyway, I'm driving the Ginetta in the 1000 mile classic Euro cup. I've taken off excess weight, added a sports muffler/air-cleaner, racing flywheel and Nitro. That's 98ps. Needless to say the nitro is useless in endurance racing and the Ginetta wipes the track with the other classics, so I replaced the original muffler after the 35 laps of the Nur. Still 95ps (why did I ever get that muffler?) I did 12 laps without a pit stop for either tires or gas. The second stop came 8 laps later. I'd got my confidence up and was putting in faster times and braking less. I didn't need to get gas for the rest of the race.

I finished the 95 laps at the Paris Opera without a refuel. I only changed tires about three times... already forgot what I was doing after reading all this...

Just some random pit talk from the minimal perspective to introduce myself. This is a really interesting thread.

I'm not sure which is crazier, doing the 24hr race in one sitting, or eating 96 slimjims.

I agree about escaping reality with the game, but from another point of view, I think the game is also used to do things that we could never, or wouldn't want to do in reality. In this case we have a virtual experience. That said, I don't really want the AI deciding when I get a flat or blow my engine. Look at the way they race! ;)

I noticed the turbulence factor at Circ de Sarthe racing the normal French Car only championship. I hadn't quite got the hang of the second half of the course and the 80's Renault came up on me just before that first 90degree turn when I was still at full throttle, but making that gentle bend to the right. I'd never had a problem with that turn in any of my practice laps. Not even the first one, but before I knew it I was spinning out of control through the grass on the left-hand side totally out of control. I didn't get it back till I was resting in the sand-trap at the far end of the corner while the stupid Renault sped away. I was much faster than him in my Alpine 110, but on my least comfortable section of the course he was fast enough to stay ahead. What can you do in a 1 lap race! The antithesis of endurance, but, I believe, a clear example of fluid dynamics.

This race was really easy..it was just being able to "endure" your bigger opponent...yourself .

Someone should make this the a permanent sticky, hell, I might make it my sig!

Again, otsukare and thanks for the fun read.

Hohohoho! You must'n flatter me such as that :embarrassed:!! Thank you for the enjoyable post ^___^! I also think that with your posting reply back to my reality sayings, you was just agreeing with me even more ! I would not want the AI deciding when my engine or tyre blew either :P! Well..on that note, one more day till Valentines Day,so make it a fun one :embarrassed:! *waves* Ja ne~<3 =^.^=!

P.S. Ahhhhh! How could I forget about your race! gomen gomen ^.^;;! *sweatdrop* Well...hehe,anyways...*jumps into the air, throwing his index finger out along with his thumb in a gun type gesture* GANBATTE :embarrassed:!

well, that's a nice warning and a good "wake-up call",buuuut....to quote what was said in the article -

"According to witnesses, police detective Oh Myong-sik stated that the man had been virtually glued to the computer since late last Friday and had no decent sleep or meals."

For one, this states he had been virtually glued to the computer. Sitting in front of your computer is actually pretty different (well..for me anyways) than sitting in front of your television. It is also different from typing/clicking the mouse rather than holding a PS2 controller. Another thing,it said he had no decent sleep or meals. It's not the fact that you would necessarily have to have sleep, but it also said he didn't have any meals. Which...this can be VERY easily arranged. We have and had meals during our endurance. If we would try to stay up for 86 hours,we would probably have VERY decent meals ! Well, either way..this guy probably stayed up for 86 hours without sleep or food and I think that is just pointless really :P. I mean..you could probably actually do it,but eh...as we can see..this person could not :odd:! Thanks for the info though!

Eh, quickest real life time, it's a 24 hour race so it takes 24 hours. The only way to speed it up is if you use B spec and fast forward time.

Yep,it's as Live4Speed said :P! I heard you can increase the speed on B-Spec Mode and make it only take 8 hours instead of 24. I also heard that in the american release, they added a feature to where you can switch between A or B-Spec in the middle of the race :yuck:! Well..anyways,with real life time, depending on what you do exactly,it will take a little bit over 24 hours time. Like for me,it actually took me about 30 somethin' hours actually, because I took a break every two hours that last about 15 minutes or so. I guess that all added up after a while and added more hours . But yes,in real life time,no matter what,it will take AT LEAST 24 hours as Live4Speed has also said 👍

Yeah that is what i heard in terms of being able to fast foward time in B-Spec! and us Europeans may also get the ability to swop back and to with A and B-Spec. I am suprised the PS2 does not melt after 24 hours non stop, i know i would. Should have introduced a pit saving option!! I am anoyed you can only get the Bentley Speed 8 after the 24hour le man race...i want it sooner!

I made it too! -- to the end of this thread!! lol Great job on completeing the 24 hours enduro. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first (about myself doing it), then gained confidence that it can be done!!

My hats off to you, and the others that will be doing it the only true way -- A-Spec!! I know I will do it that way for all 3 enduros!! I won't sit here and try to clain that I'll do them back to back to back or anything -- just one at a time!! Man, You get much respect from this VERY AVID SUPPORTER OF GT!!!!! And I am doubly glad to see that you won a F1 car for your efforts -- IMO -- the only type of race car --> GRIP IT AND RIP IT!!

I have already bookmarked this thread as my guide when I get the game and go for it in the enduros!!

Once again, Congratulations on making it through!!

hahahaha, you people make me feel like you are having harder time getting through thread than I did 24 Hour Endurance Race !! Thank you from me and other fellow members (who do not formally thank you themselves :P ) with congratulations! I wish I could have gave my F1 to you, because if I try to grip it,I flip it ! Well..if I could, then I would anyways, hahaha. I cannot grip drive for anything. I know that is sad too,but I drive much better when tyres are in orange/red condition :P! Well..with that being said,I thank you and wish you luck :embarrassed:!

i am wondering something:

to all of you who won the F1 and know the Nurb track pretty well-

how fast can you go? did anyone made it under 5 min?
i saw a 5:08 video once....

well i think going to the pit every 2 rounds' a lot, i think wirth my viper :dopey: I went there every...well let me think....10 laps? i think 8 - 10 laps....well and in the 2 hour endurance race i was 20 laps faster than any computer 👍 ...but to the topic, i think i won't do this race, if i would make it with friends, but not alone

:sly:

I am so excited for GT4 and the 24 hour races, I can't wait to get a bunch of friend together over the summer and have 24 race sessions, that will be so much fun! I have read this thread beginning to end twice, and yes it is an ordeal in itself! Oh man, only a few more days!

24 hour races, in real time: unbelievable.
You should get 5 cars for that effort. Just 9.......more....days.

Hmm.....*ponders Charger in 24 hour race*

wow,you have read this whole thread from beginning to end TWICE :banghead:?! I congratulate you XD!! I am sorry that my description/Live Coverage of my 24 Hour race experience isn't like good tips for ya,but I am certainly glad to you read it :embarrassed:! Well...I am actually at a loss of words today and you will have to  me,but my grandfather had a heartattack earlier this morning (at around 5:15 A.M. to be exact) and I only got an hour of sleep ;_;. I've been at the hospital from about 6:00 A.M. till about 5:30 P.M. so I am sorry for not answering any sooner..and my Valentines Day hasn't actually been the best of days,since..I didn't really even get to spend it with who I wished to..I had to spend it in the hospital. Oh well..my grandfather is already doing better, but I'm still rather stressed out right now,but I thank all of your participation in this thread and making it wonderful everyone :P! I could not have done it without your help and also...Happy Valentines Daaaaaaay~<3 =^.^= :embarrassed:!!!!!

yea, doin a 24hr race is a big challenge, I dont know if I can do it. I did almost 8hrs in gt3 in endurance mode (Tokyo r246, Rome Circuit, Seattle Circuit, and Laguna Seca with the 787b) and that was bad enough. But I'll try it. Probably start playin early in the morning, drink a little caffeine, and some breaks. Eventually ill jus pause the game, then play again.

Here's what I'm about to do when I am able to go to the endurance races : (if game comes to Europe I will be home alone for 10 days as my parents go on a holiday.. 👍 )

Nurnburgring 24 hrs : Drive in a good, fast car that's pretty easy to control, but... I won't pause the game. So, I better get a fast car, as i'm not saying I won't take any braeks. Gettin' myself a fast car will give me the advantage of a big lead early on in the race, but if I'm willing to take a brake (for smoking, eating, taking a little nap, toilet breaks, etc...) I'm going to park the car somewhere in the gras, and let the timer continue to run. In that way, I give the AI a chance to come back at me.

What're your ideas about this plan?

Woah, that's a different way of thinking!! I like it! :) Seriously, when you think about it, say you have 15 laps on the next car.....on a 13 mile track. That gives about an hour ( on the fastest cars) just to gain back to lead-lap status, one hour that you do absolutely nothing. to you for this idea.

Well,I wouldn't really think it would matter if you got a fast car or not because having a couple of laps on a car will do you absolutely NO good in this 24 hour endurance race ! I would say it would probably do you some good in maybe a 4 or 8 hour endurance race, but not 24 hours =p. Hahahaha,well..either way I wish you luck on this race and please keep us informed! Hohohohoho :embarrassed:!

I'm on hour 16 (B-Spec) as we speak, started today at 12ish, went to the mall from 3-6, 3xed it while I was home, now going to see Constantine and getting Denny's, so that'll be 19 hours down (1xed while i'm gone), then i'll do the last 5 hours while i'm home 3xed, should be done by 3am tonight!

YAY!

*yawns* Nyaaaaaa~:embarrassed:! Hmmmm...I don't want to sound mean here,but..why bother telling us about B-Spec endurance? I could put it at this 3X you speak of,then leave it on overnight, then wake up with 120,000,000 prize money, including F1 to sell for about the same as prize money :P. Oh well..I guess,eh...yeah..get done with it and..hmmm...*shrugs* yay..*waves a little flag* -.-'. Sorry for not sounding too enthused about your close to be accomplishment, but eh...not that much to me !
