Verry interesting ...... humm

Did someone have one of my slips?

I'd be interested to find the "BHP" if you could find that for me because all I can find is "HP"

I haven't heard of the "Belgium Horse Power" exchange rate but it would be interesting to see :)

It's Brake Horsepower.

And in the options screens, there are areas where you select the units of measure of the game to use. Those include KPH vs. MPH, and also have several varying measures for Power and Torque.

The aussies have a measure they use called nM for torque as well.

It's for Brake Horse Power
This is what I found on wikipedia about it
wikipedia
Brake horsepower

Brake horsepower (bhp) is the measure of an engine's horsepower before the loss in power caused by the gearbox, alternator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components such as power steering pump, muffled exhaust system, etc. Brake refers to a device which was used to load an engine and hold it at a desired RPM. During testing, the output torque and rotational speed were measured to determine the brake horsepower. Horsepower was originally measured and calculated by use of the indicator (a James Watt invention of the late 18th century), and later by means of a De Prony brake connected to the engine's output shaft. More recently, an engine dynamometer is used instead of a De Prony brake. Although the output delivered to the driving wheels is less than that obtainable at the engine's crankshaft, a chassis dynamometer gives an indication of an engine's 'real world' horsepower after losses in the drive train and gearbox. This gives a reasonably accurate indication of how a wheeled vehicle engine will perform once on the road.
So basically it's the hp measured on the crackshaft of the engine.

Now where did you find the option. I can't seem to find it anymore. :dunce:
The only thing I can find under options is 'units/languages'
I thought it was there where I could change it but the only thing I can change there is the gamelanguage and Km vs. Miles.
Did they take that away in the 2.0 update

Still I'm at 404. No turbo's involved

Anyone remember Yanaran's quali lap time from today? I ran 1'39.305 and started third. I think speedy ran 1'39.38X and started fourth. I'm pretty sure the pole lap beat me by a 1+ secs and was in the low 1'38 range (like 1'38.1XX)?

I think it was 1'37.9XX.

I want to say sorry to gooners for apparently ramming him all over the place.. :ouch:
And I would be interested to see the replay.:scared:

It was a fun race for me at least.

Congrats to Yanaran for the win!

Pretty lonely race for me, except the last few laps of the first stint where there was a bunch of us fighting it out 👍

I think it was 1'37.9XX.

For me it was a fun race.

Its cool, I didn't lose much time because of it. We were running side by side for around 2-3 laps? Your pace in stint 3 was really good and I couldn't really keep up after that.

From the US PS blog, it looks like the PSN will be down 9PM -3AM EST. I may be able to make the NA race today, but definitely not tomorrow 👎

Thanks guys, was fun to get my first ever online win! :) It got a bit lonely after Pekka went into the pits, but it we were running very close before that. I still think a few of you should've tried 1 stop, looking at the replay I certainly didn't have the best tires in the field after 13. :sly:

And yes I think my quali lap was 1'37.90x.

I don't know, I couldn't see you.
But seriously, I hope you'll have better luck in the NA race (if you can make the race).

Oh sorry, forgot to congratulate you Yanaran - so congratulations on the win.👍

Congratulation Jonas 👍
Great race!

Yeah, no one important uses Newton-Meters for *anything* :sly:

So, funny story (not a whinge, just dumb and funny shooting self in foot). I decided three setups just weren't enough, and also wanted one without the Rigidity improvement ; I plugged Tim's, Kev's and Pekka's onto a brand new drinky last night, took them out for a couple of offline practice laps each. I decided I really liked Pekka's gearing, since I was able to drop into the 1'38s a few times without break-in. I thought to myself, "Self, try that in online practice tomorrow morning; you'll have plenty of time".

I handed the car over to Bruce to run around Laguna Seca, and went to bed.

I woke up at 5.10am; that means race start in 5 minutes or so! I oil change the car, jump in the lobby, and can't even change cars before race start.
Uh, oops. The bleary-eyed first stint doesn't go well; lost draft too soon, and all hope of getting it back when Speedy pulled over. Looked like a really close race mid-field.

So, not that I would have done much better anyway, but the moral is: Don't try to overthink it, and just get the extra hour's sleep, kids. In other news, Maynard Ferguson's Primal Scream doesn't wake you up when the earbud falls out.

Congrats to Yanaran for the win. Shame you passed me while I was in the pits; could have used the boost for a bit. I thought about dropping back to help Max :D

I thought that if you were in a lounge online before the maintenance starts, you're ok to stay online, however if you leave, you won't be able to get back in? I guess that would mean everyone being in the lounge in the next 20 mins or so. ;)

I just hard wired my router and my upstream doubled as my downstream remaind the same. My UPnP is enabled but I can't figure out how to get the NAT to change to 1. My router doesn't seem to be able to do it from the router manager so I don't know where to look.

Good morning, can I join the NA race?
That way I can finish my race I had to stop last night :sly:

Arg, I got kicked (disconnected from server) on lap 17-ish. Tried to rejoin just to watch, and immediately got another disconnected from server.

I'll stay out for now, in case someone's router doesn't like mine. Good luck! 👍

Time to work on WRS or next week's Event Post, it'll be a fun one!

Lefty, the only way to get NAT 1 is to remove the router from the connection, and wire the PS3 directly to your cable/dsl modem. You were kicking my butt in that race! 👍

EDIT: Thanks a ton to Blair for the ultra-close but clean laps we spent, swapping positions back and forth, drag racing the straight. That was too fun (while it lasted). 👍

Well, I screwed up. I read the race regs wrong. Thought it was on race hards. Practiced on hards all week. Was running 1'40.xxx on them. In practice CSL pointed out I was on the wrong tires so I switched to the next ones on the list without really paying attention to which ones they were. Assumed they would be meds. Turns out they were int. because I didn't even own meds. New it was driving really bad in qual. but couldn't figure out why because I didn't change any settings. Finally got tired of the terrible handling in race and had to bow out. Went to check settings and thats when I realized what happened. Put in alot of practice and totally ruined the race. This sucks.

That was great fun Lucas, you and I going back and forth, drafting each other down the straight. Sorry you got booted, it was rather lonely for me the rest of the race.

Sorry again Dom for getting into you at the chicane. Hope I didn't cost you a position in the final standings.

I managed to stay on the lead lap, and break into the 1'39s on one lap. A successful race for me anyway.

Great race guys.👍

I had an awesome time again! It baffles me how you guys can go so friggin fast! I hope I didn't get in your way when you were lapping me!

I live in the sticks out here so the only way I can have anything somewhat fast is Wifi and there isn't a router. I have a cookie pan connected to some kind of a small 110v AC powerd Junction Box (maybe that is the so called modem) then it connects to my whireless router through a CAT5. I then ran a cable to the PS3.

So do I remove the router from the connecton and couple directly to the powerd JB? I though there had to be some kind of rectification of the signal or something but that shows ya how bad I am at Network Administration.

As far as the race goes I just wish I could see all you guys because your all so much fun to run with. I finally got a chance to see and run w/ our fearless leader of the WRS and I was having the best time when someone was around me until Hydro and EDK checked out on me. I wish you would have been visable so I could have had someone to run w/ :(

Congrats Tim (I just found out you won!) and Jonas. Nice work. 👍

Thanks! Here are the full results from the NA event. Slightly marred by the update which kicked a few people, but we managed to get in a pretty amazing race anyway with the top 4 separated by less than 7 seconds after an hour of racing... and with different pit strategies! 👍

No problem, it only cost me a better view of EDK's bumper, not the 3 seconds I needed yet.

I can't say I'm thrilled with how I drove, but you couldn't ask for a much better finish.
Around lap 35 I almost gave up, then I saw the lead down to 15 seconds, then 12.9, actually thought I had the win at that point, fresh tires helped a lot, just to little to late, but not quite.

I think 1-stop vs 2-stop really was 6 and a half dozen this time. Good racing as always guys, congrats on the win Tim.

It definitely turned out interesting. I was gaining about 1 second per lap on Kevin and Speedy and then when they started to battle around lap 36 I started gaining 1.5-2 seconds. I passed Speedy on lap 38 and then Kevin at the start of lap 39. You were gaining on them 2 seconds per lap which was showing up in your splits, but on me by maybe 0.5 seconds per lap (due to my fresher tires) which doesn't show up to you (wish you could see vs other drivers while racing).

I'm anxious to watch the live leader board video to see exactly what it looked like, but according to Marc (who was kicked and observing) it was pretty interesting to watch the splits board each sector. We were projecting pretty close to a 4 way intersection on lap 39-40. Pretty amazing.
