Ok, good result but disappointing turnout.

Quali went fine, my final lap of a 1:20.5 I suspected would be enough for pole but considering it's a track Jamie says he doesn't like, he did well to keep in touch with a 1:20.9. My start was good and I was able to keep clear of the pack behind going into turn two. I got a good exit into the parabolika and was far enough ahead going into the hairpin so that I could pick my normal line and braking point. Jamie wasn't as feisty as he was at Magny Cours and gave me a free hand in the first two laps to drive how I wanted. I noticed after a couple of laps that he dropped off behind me and once again would have to pick his way through the field to catch up.

Another few laps passed and I noticed Jamie was catching Hemi, then the next thing, he was past with Hemi's icon, which was now static on the track map at the Mobil 1 Curve I believe. Hemi then disconnected.

The rest of the race was undisturbed for me until I came up to lap Ginty. Ginty didn't so much fail to notice me, as ignore me completely, disregard the rules and decide he was racing me for position. Even when I got side by side he refused to let up and as a result my right front tyre went on to the grass at the Sachscurve and I ploughed straight into the wall 👎 He has apologised for this already and I know that for the most part he is a very clean racer so I won't labour this point, but make sure you never do that again if someone is coming up to lap you Ginty, which given your speed shouldn't happen too often. This is regardless of whether or not you're racing someone in the pit stop window.

Thankfully this didn't cost me. Apart from the crash, I made no errors which was the main contributor to my success today.

As you can see from the tables, Red Bull continue to close up in the constructors mainly by virtue of having a better attendance than the rest of us. If Hemi does indeed quit proper, then Williams' chances of winning the constructors are all but gone :indiff:

I pull out another 3 points on Jamie, 6 wins out of my last 6 races have really turned this thing around but i'm still not counting my chickens. Jamie has gotten the better of me on many occasions and I know if I ever drop the ball, he'll be there ready to pounce. Plus Shanghai is yet to come, a track he loves as much as I hate. He is definite favourite for that one whereas I will probably be mired in the midfield.

On we go to Budapest, another track in which I enjoy - it has a lovely flow and rhythm to it - but I have never been particularly fast there for one reason or another. I'm expecting a close race 👍

Man, can't you reconsider?

In a word, no.

All that happened was I thought I nudged him and so when it came to the straight after the next corner I slowed down to let him by but he must have gone on to the grass or something because he spun it, I drove passed and then he quit :(

I'm really sorry if this is the reason you have quit Hemi, please don't leave over this, i'll actually feel really bad about it for ages :guilty:

From my view you slowed in the racing line, I swerved to miss you, dropped my left side tyres in the gravel, spun, hit wall and when I re spawned, it put me right in Kings path and I wrecked again. really supprised that it didn't wreck King.....This is one of the MANY bad problems with this game and why I don't like collisions on......and don't worry, you're young so you'll get over feeling bad about it :D

How can you just abandon your team, who is in the WCC battle? In racing there are incidents and arguments, but I don't see anyone pulling out because of it. If you are leaving, I bid you farewell.

That is your opinion and I respect that but you are even younger than Kak  so I don't expect you to understand either :indiff:

I don't want you to leave either we have a battle going on for 3rd in the championship and would like it if you could see it out

please stay HEM were aving a good battle for 3rd

Y'all will be having a good battle with out me 👍

I do find it a little bit ironic that you're leaving because you hate the arguments that go on for hours, and now that you're leaving, it's caused a situation that could do on for even longer lol.

But please don't go Hemi, we all love you :D and you provide us with video footage!

Look fellas, I've stated before that I didn't know at the time how this championship was going to affect my weekend. Y'all have the race at 9pm your time but it's 4pm here for me. I'm a working man with projects and a "honey do" list that I will probably never get done but I have to work on it to keep the Missus happy :sly: I'm not quiting because of any one thing, it's a combination of things 👎 I'll admit I was a bit peeved at what went on during this event but by no means was it the straw that broke the camels back :dopey: I almost didn't show up for it anyway 'cause I had forgot about the race and told told my wife that I would take her out today :embarrassed: I feel I have new friends across the pond now and will be looking forward to racing you again :P

I just watched the video on my screen you was on the side of the track damaged and didn't feel a thing. Kakundoo you did get right on the driving line when you went to let him past.

Well its a shame to lose you buddy you have been a strong racer and i hope to race you again maybe if you do get some free time on a sunday you would join us again for the odd race.

I had work to do, plus i'm grounded this weekend. Well, since Duck has no teammate and crooky has yet to show up for awhile now, mind if I join you at Williams Duck?

I'd be happy to take you on at PJ as you seem to have good attendance. Plus I really need a team mate at the moment to fight for the constructors, so if you want to, then feel free to step into a Brawn :)

If so, then I'll give you some tips that have helped me improve my racing over the years. We could be the youngest team to win a Championship :D

Well, Kakundoo actually asked for me to join, and since crooky is nowhere in sight, looks like i'm now signing with Brawn. I wish I could help out Williams though, they really need a kick start into the title running. Oh well, goodbye Lotus, hello Brawn:D

Could we look at changing the race time to an hour earlier, 8pm GMT? If we're resigned to losing Hemi then I hope everyone else would be able to do this time. How does that sit with you, PJ, and Duck? The reason I ask is that the new series of Top Gear starts at 9 instead of 8, so as not to clash with the s**t factor.

I can't do 8pm either, for some reason I always have dinner late on a Sunday, not sure why =/ lol.

And welcome PJ :D, we'll have to get some mega awesome practice down this week at some point so we can have a strong showing in Hungary :)

7pm would be even worse lol. I think I usually start having dinner at about 6:45-7, then I finish, watch some TV for half an hour, then do the washing/wiping up and then go practice until the race starts.

I'm only free on weekends, but hopefully we can get some practice done on friday night and saturday. Hungary isn't my best track, but not the worst either. Too bad we can't setup the cars online, or i'd be going with full downforce and lower top end, the usual setup for Hungary in real life and in game.

No problem PJ :), I don't expect you to win the race lol, just being there will score some nice points, I mean, with Hemi gone, that leaves us with only 6-7 drivers, so you can score a minimum of 2 points, which would be great.

It's obviously not going to be easy for you because you'll have to compete against the rest of us who have more experience, but i'm sure I can hone those skills of yours ;)

Damn, I thought everyone knew it was going to be sunny :S

Doesn't matter anyway, I haven't been able to practice this week :nervous: has anyone?

What time is it? If we have it at the normal time, you guys will miss Top Gear. So, 1 hour later?

Adequate result.

Qualified exactly where I expected but was a little worried about Shaggy's time. Got a decent start, but couldn't get close enough to pass Shaggy into turn 1, but was so close. I followed him round and managed to overtake him at the start of lap 2 or 3. I was so pleased with this and I kept composed, however near the end of the lap, Ben got into my slipstream and took me out :( lol, allowing King and Duck to get passed. I tried to escape from Shaggy but it was really hard until a lap later he spun at the same corner he hit me on and I could make my getaway :D
The only problem was that when I caught Duck and King, I couldn't get passed them :(, if I had of tried then I would have probably hit one of them. Shaggy caught up to the end of the pack, and passed me as well. When the pit stops came, I was able to leap frog King and Duck, but stayed behind Ben.

From there onwards I just tried to keep with Shaggy as best as possible so that if he made a mistake I could pounce, but alas no such luck. So I just brought the car home with a flawless 2nd place.

Good win Ben :)

I qualified 3rd and took it easy down to T1 letting pj and ginty through. I got pass them both at T2 and i see duck right behind me. Then shaggy and kakundoo had a coming together and i was in the lead with duck right up close. It was really hard to keep looking behind and making sure where duck wasn't trying to get by and finally he did. Now with shaggy right up on me i pitted so i didn't get hit as he was way quicker than me. When duck came out from his pit stop i managed to leapfrog him just so i was in another battle with him looking back again and defending. He got by me 5laps later the lap i decided i was going to stop. I was hoping to leapfrog him again but didn't and i then got a 3 second penalty so ginty came past me. Lucky he made a mistake and i got by again for 4th place.

Got to say that was the best battle i have had in a long time congratulations for coming out on top duck

Wow, great race! Probably the best race i've had since Melbourne 👍

Qualifying went averagely and I wasn't confident at all about getting pole, but my 1:14.5 turned out to be enough. However, this was the first race in a while which had a long blast down to turn 1, with Kakundoo just behind me, so I figured I might lose position to him at the start.

Indeed that's exactly what happened, I got a much better start than Jamie, but he got into my slip stream and arrived at t1 with more speed than me, and must have took the corner much better because his nose was infront of me by turn two, and he was fully past by turn 3. I stayed right with him and hustled him into trying to make a mistake to no avail. I got a better run through turn 13, stood on the brakes to try and avoid him at turn 14 but I saw his car spin so I stood still, ghosting my car out (sorry about that btw Jamie, although it did end up making for an exciting race  ) . In which time Zeroduck and King passed the pair of us. The order at this stage was 1st. Zeroduck, 2nd. kingmart1n, 3rd Kakundoo, 4th Me, 5th Ginty, 6th PJ.

Then on the following lap I was pushing hard to catch Kakundoo and I spun at turn 14 - a bad mistake, turning in before braking :ouch: Luckily I didn't lose 4th position but I now knew I had a real task on my hands to catch the leading group. I finally settled down and got into my rhythm (so important at this track, especially in the middle sector) and within a couple more laps I was within touching distance of the leading group, which were all squabbling for 1st position, but slowing each other down in the process. I bided my time behind Kakundoo, knowing that a pass in the second or third sectors almost always ends in a crash and made sure I did a good final sector and I got right in his tow down the pitstraight, as he struggled with a tad of oversteer coming out of the final corner, further aiding my charge on him. Going into turn one I got past by going round him on the outside and using the run off, though I was surprised he wasn't closer behind me.

I then set about hunting down King, but then decided I would pit early to try and leapfrog the group in the 1st pit window. However King went into the pits just infront of me so I had to make a last second change of plan as I came into the pit entrance but then immediately came back onto the track. The result of this was that I was very out of shape for the final turn and Kakundoo had a run at me going into turn one, and the ensuing lap was fairly hairy with him sat in my diffuser the whole time. I sensed an accident happening at turn 7 as he was right behind me but gladly he thought better of it and we both carried on. 2 laps later I pitted and much to my delight I came out in the lead, just infront of Jamie who's in-lap must have been equally as fast as my outlap. I don't know what happened to Duck in the pit window, he must have ran into trouble because he had been certain to emerge in 1st position, with me second, Jamie 3rd and King now down to 4th. Instead however he came out behind both me and Jamie.

From there on it was just a matter of consolidating my position, not making any mistakes and pushing for fastest lap. My second outlap was decent and I secured fastest lap with it, and finished in first, with Jamie not far behind.

A great race then, and one I thoroughly didn't expect to come out on top in after I spun. I was quite lucky that Jamie was never in clean air when I was behind him, because with that he could have proven a lot harder to catch.

In the tables, it's as you were in the constructors, only Jordan and Brawn both pull away slightly from Red Bull and especially Williams, who's hopes of the constructors championship sadly look to be over.

In the drivers championship I pull further away from Jamie as I'm trying to build as much of a lead as I can before Shanghai where I know he will be better than me, and also incase I have to miss another race, but hopefully this won't happen. King has now displaced Hemiata for 3rd place, and Zeroduck slowly closes in on his former team mate and Ginty.

Here's the tables, please update Jamie, thanks 👍

It's annoying that I couldn't capitalise on your mistakes tonight Ben, but I guess that's the way it goes. I must admit that the rest of the season doesn't seem to good for me as I only managed a 4th in Turkey last season and i'm not great at Suzuka either :nervous:

But who knows, maybe I can have some good races, and you get the majority of the bad luck from now on :D lol, I think I've had my fair share this season :P

Well, now that i've blown off some steam it's time for a race review.

I had t make a last minute practice here, only managing 1:17's, way off the pace. So anyways, I qualified 6th. Race starts, I get a great start and get spat out of the first turn in 3rd, behind Shaggy and Kak. Then the start of the mayhem. GINTY had spun me, which made my front wing meet with the wall, severely damaging it and giving me a very understeery car, while GINTY crashed behind me . I struggled along, deciding not to pit that lap to replace it. So, when I was on the last corner before the straight, A huge hit from the right by GINTY makes me lose my front right wheel, destroying my race as well as my car. GINTY didn't stop or slow down. So, I sped along, very angry, becoming angrier and angrier when I got penalties for pushing a bit too hard. I get lapped, and Shaggy crosses the line with me a lap down and to add insult to all the previous injury, I run out of fuel. So, I gave up as there was nothing left to do. I pitted the car, and ended the race. I'm still upset about it, but my lag shouldn't excuse everyone of spinning or crashing me. Anyways, onwards and upwards.

Here's a lap of Istanbul Park, undoubtedly Herman Tilke's finest achievement to date, courtesy of Kakundoo who has aquired a Spanish accent from somewhere? :)

P.S. Is the weather going to be dry Jamie?

Yeah it's going to be dry, and I guess I accidentally did a Spanish accent because that's what happens to my voice when I get nervous during talks.

ahhh, Istanbul! One of my favorite tracks!! I'll have to see if I can swing it this Sunday if y'all don't mind :P

Course not Hemi, I was hoping you'd be able to drop by for the odd race 👍 I too am beginning to properly appreciate Istanbul as well. The second and third sectors are particularly joyful. Definitely one of the harder tracks to master, unlike Bahrain and Montreal which everyone seems to be good at.

Please, please try to make it for our race at Suzuka :) It'll be on 20th December. I want to pit myself against someone who enjoys it as much as I do :mischievous:

Sorry guys for not turning up at all recently. I'd love to be able to make it to a few more but its looking unlikely sadly.

No worries, I bet if I was still at Uni i'd have no prospect of attending either for the very same reasons as yourself.

I think I've recruited a replacement for your good self hopefully until the end of the season. His PSN ID is Demarko777 if anyone wants to add him. The poor sod is from Lithuania and so will be racing us at 11pm his time. But he's very quick, speaks good english and is a friendly bloke. I've mentioned to him that clean racing is what comes first here, and he understands. Looking forward to sunday night now 👍
