Its ironic PD enabled SRF on this particular event.

For the first time i got a FF car to fit my driving style. The Trial Celica ZZT231 '03. Won easily @ 390-410pp depending on track. Had a blast (for the first time) with a FF car, tons of front bite.

Then, i notice srf is not locked and i go for another try with srf off. No matter what i did all got from the car was massive, dull, sleep inducing understeer.
:grumpy:

Won all with civic type r EK 97, 365 to 385 pp. Just made sure not to have integra or civic type r as rabbit.

And that's why I hate it...

I'm going to bust out the dinky little "Daihatsu MIRA TR-XX Avanzato R '97" when I get to this seasonal.

I used to race it in McLarenDesign's 420PP room sometime ago, you can tune it into an absolute rocket that zips around the corners much quicker than most cars, and you can give it the handling of a loosely rear-ended 4WD vehicle. The front grips while the back slides very nicely.

What... NO FORCED SRF! My favorite thing to complain about is gone, dang.
Glad it's comfort tires too. Wrong Wheel Drive just ain't my thing but hopefully the next round will continue the optional assist route. Wish PD would change all the other seasonals back to assists optional.

This one I find quite challenging. I am still looking for the right car in my garage to win this one. Any suggestions?

Managed it pretty easily when I changed back to the CR-Z. I didn't tune anything either, just drove, fast! I always took first place near the end of the last lap on each circuit. It was damn near impossible for me when you run into any of the Honda's at the top of the list when loading up, I managed to beat them on the final three tracks though.

This set up helped me, it does suit my driving style with some learned adjustments along the way. I set LSD to 10/25/10 for better power out of the corners, and dropped extra weight (stage 1, windows), no aero, and adjusted the power to make the class. Could never catch the rabbit at Autumn Ring, had to wait until I got the 147 2.0 Twin Spark to get the win there.

And you get each place's allocated prize ONCE ONLY!!!!! Once you've got it, no going back to get it again, cash only.

Thanks mate 👍

Absolutely couldn't be happier, I'm glad I could help at least one person. 👍

Cy - I think he was saying that with SRF on the car drove well, but with it off, it wouldn't turn at all.

I know old boy, that's why I hate it, because it effectively removes the need for any kind of tuning. I really hope it's not the case, but I just keep feeling like GT6 is going to be like GT5, but with SRF on permanently. Having played the very limited demo, it's difficult to tell, only two low PP cars on R3 tyres. Even though there was an option to turn SRF off, I found that both cars handled very much like GT5 cars with SRF turned on.

I appreciate I can be a deeply cynical kinda guy, sometimes, but it just felt like they were harvesting data from the Seasonal events and/or pushing us toward driving with SRF on in anticipation of either updating the game or preparing the next version.

I dunno...

May I suggest;
Prius TC = Grand Valley.
Civic Type R '08 = Deep Forest.
Seat Ibiza Cupra = Cape Ring.

Regarding the SRF issue, methinks PD is 🤬 with us... ;)

"Oh, so you want SRF 'OFF', do you? Well then, have fun!"

AFAIK the only other seasonal with optional SRF is the Supercar festival, because it is the only one i play regularly for that very reason.

Managed them all with a Civic Type R '08 and won a Silvia K's Aero (S14) '96.

That was at full power, 430PP.

I used the same car. I had previously bought every upgrade. I removed them all, added 200 kilos of ballast, and reduced engine power to fall under the limit. On Mini Ring, I lowered the tranny to 112 mph. On the rest I set it to 136. No other tuning was needed.

Sorry for this silly question, vut ehat does SRF mean or what is that ?

And does someone have a great setup for the Autumn Ring ?

Thank you very much

Skid Recovery Force.

It is the most contentious driving aid in GT5. Some say it is a magical force that acts against the tendency of the a car to skid (oversteer/understeer/break traction etc). Others say it makes the grip more realistic because PDs tyre model is poor.

Best is to try the same car and track with it off, then on and make your own mind up. 👍

There is a rant thread somewhere, sorry don't have time to search and post link.

Won $2,424,980 at Deep Forest using my Honda Gathers Drider Civic race car '98.

122hp ..360pp ..953kg ..66.8% power ..23kg ballast.

edit... Won $2,571,500 ..xp 250200 ..355pp ..117hp 64.9 power ballast 49kg.

And it's goodnight from me, cheers.

The autumn ring can be kinda challenging or totally impossible depending what rabbit car you get. I did flat 45s and 45.5s all my laps and I was still 6 second off from the rabbit when I crossed the sf line. It was some integra in 1st place. But when you get the renault rabbit it is much easier and similar lap times will guarantee a win.

I absolutely love not having the srf crap being forced on! I also love the challenge. But I'm not a fan of fwd earth shattering understeer cars. Not bad overall.

This is how it should be. SRF optional. There is just no reason to force it on other than trolling.

If someone has problems with Autumn Ring the Prius TC is a good choice. Never had much use for that thing until now.

Good that SRF can now be deactivated, I think that was just some copy & past error the whole time.

Will try to get a hold of that car, thanks for the tips.

Otherwise, RSX set at 430pp is a good car to get you to the top podium. (~$650K with 200% daily log in).

Tried running a mini cooper '11 on this set to 375pp (don't remember the mods and I'm at work). Got +$670K just by placing 5th on Deep Forest. Not a fan of the Mini but it's making me money. I'm trying to get a Miura.

I might have to look for this car.

There are a couple of other things about this seasonal that I haven't seen mentioned.

You now get the prizes (helmets, suits, paint, horns) once only and in a similar way to a time trial. i.e. if you get first place on your first attempt, then you'll get all three place-prizes, and just the one time. You keep winning the money each time you race but not the prizes.

I'm guessing this is a way of not overloading people's items lists and exceeding the 7000 item limit so quickly. I think that's a good thing.

I also thought the AI seemed a little more aggressive? I found myself battling it out with them in corners and they didn't automatically back off as soon as you get near them like they usually do. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my imagination?

Cheers,
Amateur1

actually prius tc works fine with all the races, i beat all the races on my first try with the prius
I was giving a few different options; that wasn't very clear was it? Just what I'd tried. I get bored with the one car for 5 races. Bitter tears at being unable to win in Honda 1300 at Grand Valley. Keep trying, I will.

I'm not the best at playing with FF's, my driving style is pretty aggressive which seems more suited to rear wheel drive. One thing I also did with your tune was extra weight reduction, then added ballast and shifted the balance as far forward as I could to just give it better turn in. This let me drag it through and out of turns a bit better which did make enough difference particularly at Grand Valley and A. Ring which were the touughest of the events.

Once again, thanks for the setup, it actually helped me learn a little more about driving these things. 👍

Well, it's been mentioned once, also quoted as well

You're not from NSW, are ya? It could be forgiven if you were in mourning. :D

I actually always appreciated the re-gifting of paints, suits etc (not the bloody horns though) as they helped build up full sets and extra paints.

Oh dear, a cane toad. Lets shoot the bugger. And there's plenty up here in the Top End too, so thanks, but you can have them all back now.

Anyway might fire up the PS3 and see if I can get lower at Deep Forest.
