To me that thing L-shooter does is chicken, he doesn't do a lap in the last second he does it a night before and when he gets infront he stays sign out till there's 2 minutes left then signs in so no 1 can get the chance to beat it
Ahhhh, I think I understand what he's actually doing now. That makes a lot more sense (of how he was able to drop in like that with literally just 2 or 3 minutes to spare before the deadline, every time like that).
I mean, I understood the strategic purpose (tough for the other top few guys to know just how fast they have to go if they only see his new top time just a couple mins before the event ends), but what didn't occur to me was that he could just do it many hours or even a day or more in advance, and then just click the pause button when he sees he's ahead of the #1 ghost and then just leave it sitting there and only complete the last few meters of the lap right before the registration period ends or something like that. Like, I thought he was literally just coming in and was so good that he would just practice in Free Run mode a bunch beforehand before putting in his first official run and then would just put in a great lap right before the buzzer or something. But yea this makes more sense cuz I couldn't imagine how even the best guys in the world would be able to so consistently drop a #1 time on a single lap attempt at the last second like that, so, this kind of explains things to me.
Smart tactic, but I agree it does feel maybe a little bit naughty/cheapo-style kinda.
Although, then again, it's not like the other top guys can't just ASSUME he's gonna try to do that, and thus, if they are worried he might beat them last-second-swoop-in style like that, I mean, if let's say the #1 guy puts down his #1 time with a few days to go or a week to go or whatever, instead of just leaving that #1 time by a small margin sitting there with the attitude of "well, I'll just leave that as is, unless someone re-beats it, in which case I'll try to re-beat their re-beat), instead they could just be like "Damn, that's a fast time BUUUUT that L-Shooter guy is probably gonna try to do that swoop-in thing later on, so, I will try to beat my OWN #1 time and lower it even further and further by as much as I can, so that way maybe even if L-Shooter tries to do that thing, my time will just be too fast and he simply won't even be able to beat it, last-second style or not."
That said, I'm not one of the top guys, so I realize it's not really for me to say, and I can understand how frustrating it probably would be for dudes who are actually at the top end of the top 10 type of level who put in that amount of time and skill and everything.
And, it would be cool to see L-Shooter and Immortal go up against each other beat re-beat re-beat re-beat re-beat style back and forth for the #1 spot in the final few days or week of an event and see how low they could push each other, rather than just this last second swoop-in type of thing I guess, so, I suppose you have a point in that regard as well.
Anyway, thanks for explaining it to me, up till now I assumed he was just literally coming in and doing a single lap right before the end or something, which would've been like superhumanly skilled to be able to consistently pull that off, lol. Dude is still clearly extremely talented though, to be able to even get a #1 time, even if he does it swoop-in style, so I can't hate too hard, lol.
