35.891. 1972 Renault Alpine A110 1600S. On top of that- got me the Jaguar XJ220 for my troubles. Only in gaming, right? In all seriousness, I felt good about this car. This is the kind of challenge that would suit a relatively low-powered mid-engine car more than a competent front-engine car. Handling and acceleration would be key factors to me here. So I ended up first using my Renault Clio V6 befor eventually turning things over to the Renault Alpine A110. I went with a Stage 3 Engine tune and limited its power. At first, I wanted to try some different LSD settings. I increased the initial torque and the acceleration. Neither changed worked, as I kept seeing my ghost ahead of me. So then I just let go of some of the restricted power but try to keep the PP below 450. I ended up winning it by changing up my driving style and how I attacked the course. After that, I won.

The one problem I had was in trying to find a proper balance accelerating. Some of the corners are very tight, especially the one leading to the first Intermediate. You really need strong accleration and a smooth driving line heading to the Start/Finish line at the final 1/3 of the track. This Seasonal is a good test of finding speed on short, confined courses.

30.869. Gonna try some other cars now. :) In the meanwhile, here's my setup. Please note I forgot how to get those gear settings. :nervous:

For anyone else looking for an alternate solution to the GSX/R the Tommykaira ZZ-S was an easy gold (34.7, abs only).
There are probably better solutions, this just happed to be the first one I tried.

I like the idea @8l23ub had using the Fireblade, may give that a try also. With so many cars in the game I refuse to ever use the GSX/R again since I am in no way a threat to reach the top of the leaderboard.

Other cars that will work as far as I'm aware are:

Elise 111R
X-Bow Street
Fireblade
Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac
RX-8 Type S
S2000?
RX500 maybe?

To me in Seasonal Time Trials, I care more about clearing the par time first. Then, I try to improve to silver or gold. The last thing on my mind is trying to get the highest rank. Not that I care about being top-ranked, I am just someone more about trying to clear the bare necessities more than having a gloat-worthy performance. Going atop the leaderboard in Time Trials or Drifting is nothing I honestly care about because I'm never in that level of contention to begin with.

I got my time down to 33.042 switching to the X-Bow Street (has a lot of potential with a proper setup) but I can't tune this thing to save my life. I'm on to trying something else unless someone has a setup for it.

The Fireblade definately has potential. I threw maximum ballast at it and just ran some laps.
It is still at position 0, I'd think the Rocket is another one with potential.

I just need gold from this nostalgic '49 Beetle. Couldn't tame it..:ouch: Anyone got whip?
Fine tuning.... from my ability still can't get it :banghead:

Cleared gold with over a second, beating a bunch of gixxers in the process.

Shortshift the hell out of it, 4th gear through first corner, 3'rd gear through second corner (the hairpin) and then use 4'th through the rest of the lap, gear up into 5'th as soon as rear wheels start to want to break out of line, and dont go full throttle untill you are sure you can do it without drifting.

Do oilchange and body rigidity reinforcement.

31.043. Holding 8th position so far. :D My ghost is just too difficult to catch for me in the last sector now, better take a break.

Congratulations to everyone who can get a good lap time with no active steering and traction control!
Personally I got a 31.3 with no assists, which is no where close to my PB. :(

@Doodle Good to see someone other than that TRL_Immortal guy atop the leaderboards!
Edit: by the way, 33.369 with your setup. Currently sitting 3,086. I topped my friend rankings, and I'm 1,020,000 credits richer! Today was a good day!:gtpflag:

No tires? You want WipEout ships around Gran Turismo Arena? You want to have Lexus' hoverboard race GT Arena? :)

In all seriousness, I attempted this Seasonal using a car I thought would be a good candidate to use, except I didn't realize to bog this car down considerably with limiting power and adding ballast. That car? It's called the 2007 Light Car Company Rocket. Before attempting the Seasonal, I did something I don't usually do- run a practice session before attempting a Seasonal. I had to remember that the limit was 450PP and 36 seconds for Gold. I toned down the Power Limiter all the way and added 55 kg of ballast. I didn't have any horsepower upgrades installed. My best time in the Seasonal was a 34.047. I'm a bit sad because I pulled a 33-second lap in practice, but the best I could manage in the proper Seasonal was a time north of 33 seconds. So my best time was improved by more than a full second. If I had a faster time, I would even be two full seconds better with the Rocket than I was in the Renault Alpine A110 1600S I used previously.

My thoughts on using the Rocket is that this car is almost TOO good to use for this course. I still think this Seasonal better favors a mid-engined or rear-engined car that makes decent power and accelerates quickly. In other words... something go-kart like. That's just my analysis of this course and this Seasonal. Using the Rocket will surely give you that formula car feel around this short course. You're going to get crazy amounts of grip and fairly decent acceleration when tuned well. Even without any sort of fine tuning, going below the 36-second Gold time should be fairly easy granted you are an adept driver.

Keep in mind- I already cleared this Seasonal long ago using my 1972 Renault Alpine A110 1600S. This is basically me going for a better time. It's nice to land a better lap time for this course.
