regular host I believe.

PS: After the 450 closed last night...I hopped in a 480PP Nurb room and had some AWESOME battles. The competition was "Nic-KLesque" so I finished 6-8 out of 12 every race. Osprey ran his Dodge Ram and placed top 3 except for the last race when he over fiddled with the settings. And Vancizzle was in room + a couple other random folks who where on my Fr list, but I've no idea who they are.

Anyway...the races were close. We ran a congo line for 3-4 minutes each race before a field started to spread between the carosels.

Rockin, you weren't imagining it. Diabolic may have had a Spoon, too, but this one wasn't him.

I'm in the orange Civic on the left. I pushed too hard for this corner and went too wide. I did pass the Spoon, but I spent most of the race chasing Soi-Xie. I think his Civic is right infront of the Spoon.

Why are the Tuners at a disadvantage?

Diabolic, you were faster and it was fun for me to keep you from passing. I was hoping the other guys would slow you a bit but that did not happen. I think I let off on the S too but can't remember. I am pretty sure I had to, because I had the wrong line. Anyway good racing. I hope to be more consistent.

Redreevos is fast. At Tsukuba he made amazing time.

In this picture...I'm in the Seat Cupra on Snoopy's (Pink Volvo) left.

Tuner cars
They are typically discouraged, but they don't really pose much of a threat at this PP level. In fact, some of them may be overrated as I've never really seen one dominate our races. This is a tuner's club so people typically install all the mods on their non-tuner cars that you would get with a tuner car anyway.

Concepts
These are typically discouraged as well. Some can be extremely fast. However, if the car fits the theme and the driver is not dominating the racing by pulling away in a straight line, I could care less if they run them.

What is a hot hatch?
According to wikipedia, the Acura Integra, Acura RSX, and Honda CRX are hot hatches. The RSX to me is a little large for the class but the Integra and CRX are about the right size. They just look a little funny racing along side stereotypical hatchbacks like the VW Golf and Mini Cooper. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone had a huge advantage.

London and Eiger
These are such narrow short tracks, it is really difficult to pass. Aside from the start of Eiger, it sounds like everyone behaved pretty well. Congrats to that. I was totally expecting a turn 1 pileup at London and it looked like everyone made it through unscathed. I'm not sure running both in the same night was wise, but a bunch of people voted for london. I voted for it because I didn't want to end up at TGTT.

Garris,

I was impressed with your driving last night. I was indeed getting frustrated trying to get around you. I was also surprised to see you in my rearview at Eiger. I thought I was putting clean laps in but people kept passing me. Maybe my brake pedal was sticking or something (that's been known to happen). In any case, it made for an interesting race as I had to run a slower cleaner line just to keep people behind me. MY best race lap was only a 1:19 but I was running 1:13-1:14 in warmup.

@ Snoopy comments: I was very concerned about getting caught on the straight if I stayed behind you. Fortunately I got enough draft on the final straight to keep a gap. Through the complicated section I wasnt bothered as I was the fastest out of our group of 4-5. Now that I'm running silent, no longer having to hear the GT5 BGM blaring silly techno garbage...I'm much more consistent with my laps. I do wish Deep Forest Reverse ended better. I could match Reds laps, but somewhere mid race I got a late push from leadbedr on Turn 1 and it ended quite badly. Then I was stuck in 5th because of the automatic transmission not shifting down even though I was going 80 up the hill! Oh well.

The great thing about this group is that after the races...we hit the hay and try it again the next night!

thats me in front of the Spoon Civic...:nervous:
was surprise it ended up a clean race in London noting how tight the course was.

i think Diabolic run his Spoon on Eiger... thats him on yellow with me at the rear avoiding the mishap in centerfield and Sohn i guess in the blue Focus...

i might be wrong but landing on his rear end and have the Spoon logo imbeded on my bumper plate.... :)

fatrab shown here in his white Volvo prior to that mishap that ended his race.........

Tuner Cars

I really consider the Civic and Golf that I ran to be "tuner" cars since they were tuned by someone else. They are meant to be replicas of real cars that can be purchased, just like the Spoon Civic. No idea how close they are to their real counterparts.

Concepts
The CZ-3 was a concept, so it is out on two counts. Again, I'm crap, so it didn't matter.

Hatches

The RSX is just a rebadged Integra. If one counts, then they both should.

I like this image from Wikipedia:

220px-Three_body_styles_with_pillars_and_boxes.png

I've never considered the Mini a hatch. The roofline extends to the C pillar. it is a small wagon (like my xB). To me, the Integra is a three-door sedan. The roofline slopes at the C pillar, but there is flat surface beyond the sloped line.

I don't mind letting the Integra/RSX in. I don't mind letting the Mini in. There was a comment last night about the CR-X, and that is very hatch.

I appreciate the compliment. I'd like to see what I could do in a faster car. If someone wouldn't mind sharing with me a good tune, I'd appreciate it. Keep in mind, I don't want any oversteer. I only have a DS3 and that is such a pain to deal with. I'd rather just brake earlier to minimize the understeer.

I put some power mods on the CZ-3 and C30 I had (didn't run the C30), but all I do for suspension is add the height adjustable kit. I can't make the car faster with anything more than stiffer springs. I'm just not good at tuning, yet.

Over fiddled is an understatement. Seems the 75mm "sky jacker" lift kit I put on the RAM made it handle poorly. Who knew?? :D

Good seeing you in that room. I was in there for a while, and the Tacoma was impressing.

Nah I was running the white EK hatch which is in 5th in that pic ( you can barely see it). At that point the only acceleration I had was from being rear ended mid air by that peach colored renault behind me :P

The mini is the original hot hatch. No way that's a small wagon....

couldnt agree more! driving with DS3 too (hopefully for the last time this week), anyone in my rear knows that i usually brake early in turns... accuracy when using a DS3 is a hit and miss thing, a slight error and its hard to compensate...

My Peugeot 207 was a quick and easy mod. Install a bunch of stuff including racing exhaust and stage 3 turbo. Don't do any weight reduction. There should be a combo of mods that will get you exactly 450pp with no power reduction. Add the racing clutch, flywheel, and LSD. Add the fully custom suspension and transmission.

Ride height +2 / -2
Rollbars 3 / 6
Brakes 4 / 6
LSD default
Tranny, adjust top speed for each track

Note the secret ride height tune. It does wonders with reducing understeer. I didn't touch the springs or dampers, nor did I add any camber. There was still understeer at Eiger which could probably be dialed out with even more rear rollbar or possibly stiffer rear springs but it felt great for the other tracks.

There was one point where I passed Snoopy, and while there was no contact, I felt so dirty about how I managed that pass.

No worries, I do not even remember the pass. But if you feel bad the next time, you could yield the position and I could reluctantly take it back...:)

As soon as the 450 closed up..I went through my list for any rooms I like. As mentioned, a 305HP daily driver room was open w/ Vancizzle as host but it completely fell apart and I moved over to 480PP. Then Vancizzle followed in tow.👍👍

For some reaseon I thought that the ride height trick was the other way around. I was running -4/+5 last night in the Volvo.

Edit: Just tried with +3/-3 and shaved 2s off my lap time for suzuka east

I missed the action last night due to afternoon yard work/shower/dinner/tiredness. So I decided to catch up on Seasonals and I've been inspired. Since we bump it to 500pp every week for Muscle Mondays, I think we should go the other way sometimes as well...

I managed to snag a Honda Beat in the used lot and ran the Kei car seasonals @ 320PP and it was a blast! Perhaps something like 350PP and CS tires for a Kei car night would be a lot of fun. Maybe 400, but that would require pretty much full modding (which might spoil the fun) and I still don't know if all the Kei's can reach that level. There are 30+ Kei cars in the game, so there can still be a diverse field throughout the night even with car changes.

I would totally be in favor of every now and then setting th pp limit lower. I think we should have a classic car (not muscle) event every now and then too. We could use things like the Ginetta, Triumph Spitfire, Mazda 110, maybe some old bluebirds too.

i had a bunch of these Kei cars just lying around as well as some classic cars rusting...... probably time to put it in good use!

re: classic non-muscle

I did a test of the 69 Isuzu GT-R and fully maxxed I got it to 451pp. So I think if we go with 69 and older theme next Wednesday the PP will have to be lower (ie. 425 or less)

I commented on CR-X yesterday, and did this because of this. Which seems about right to me.

A coupe like an RX7 or Honda CRX is not a hot hatch. A wagon or minivan is also not a hot hatch.

Tuner cars should be banned outright. Otherwise I'll run trial celica =)

Ive run the Izuzu 4200R to death on these races, but I never win so folks dont mention. I'm merely a middle of the pack guy, but I dont think we can say no to all concepts because cars like the Atenza and RX-8 are pretty standard. The one car I hate seeing when driven by someone good is the FT-86 concept. But saying folks cant run it is like saying "No Lotus." Lightweight 2 doors have an advantage at this PP level that all.

Do we have a host tonight? I lied to Bowtie earlier stating that it was regular. Just looked at the schedule and saw ??
I'm happy to host, but only the folks who've been driving since before the down time are on my list (with a few exceptions)

If I were to host, is there a preference on Lounge vs Open lobby races?

Diabolic its too bad that 305hp room bugged out right after the host position was passed to me. The races in that room were almost always clean and tight with the top 3-5 finishing within ~1 second of each other.

It was also a nice opportunity to try out some higher pp cars. That room and the nurb room that followed were all racing softs unfortunately. I would have liked a little more sliding =]

I saw in one of your posts that you mentioned the automatic transmission not downshifting when you needed it. I always thought u were a manual driver. You should really start using the manual, it doesnt take long at all to get used to it. I started a week or so before the psn went down and now I dont know how i could ever go back to automatic. Racing is more fun too :P

If you host diabolic, I say we do the lounge. A lot easier to pick tracks that everyone is satisfied with.

I did a keicar night a while back and it was a bust. Despite having the same pp, some keicars were a lot faster than others. I had to put boost on high just to promote passing.

400pp might work, i'll add it to the schedule for a future night.

Personally i dont consider the CRX a hot hatch because it only seats 2. Most hatchbacks are sedans without a trunk. They utilize folding rear seats if you need to fit more than 2 or 3 grocery bags. But there is no advantage to using the car and at least it is compareable size to most of the true hot hatches.

I think we banned the FT-86 after I started using it

yes, you were mad fast with that thing. I could barely keep up, even with the draft.
