Wii, I'll definitely be talking to you soon about that 73 skyline you were busting my Camaro in. I've been testing all day, and still haven't solved the oversteer issue. I'm stumped.

Also, I don't have a problem with custom tracks, I love togue Toscana tracks. I think they make for excellent 450 tracks.
Here is the tune I used for the 73 Skyline. It's a bit oversteery, but personally I like it that way. With some adjustments you could make it easier to control if you wanted. Overall its not the fastest but it is fun to drive.

If you all haven't noticed already, I like using tuning garage's setups. I'm not the greatest tuner myself, so using pre-tuned cars means I can focus on driving rather than setting up the car.

When all else fails, a spoiler with 5-10 downforce can cure oversteer...but you have to give up straight line speed for it.

Unfortunately, I prefer looks over performance. I can't stand the looks of a huge spoiler on this car. Oh well, that's my downfall.

Definitely will take a look at it, I usually tune my own stuff though.

Atleast I'm not the only one lead.

I havent had much luck with the tuning garage tunes. Most of them do better offline and tend to oversteer online. I'm not the best tuner but i do ok with little changes here and there. I never seem to get spring rates right though so if i add weight reduction i never come close to getting a god tune.

I hate most of the tuner garage tunes because they are iWin buttons. They are just "install everything" (including racing tires). Few of them have any style, they are just bashing hammers.

It is one of the places that reminds me that I am not really a console gamer. The culture is completely different from PC and tabletop gaming.

Yup, I ignore any street car tune that says to install racing tires...its the first thing i check for. Occassionally they list settings for multiple tires but even then the sport tire tune is often an after thought.

I really should start my own garage thread with 450 pp tunes...but id have to put more time into them before i would be willing to receive criticism on them. Most are "good enough" tunes. I never get everything out of a given car.

We could all share some of our tunes. I have been working on my impreza coupe tune for a while, but I still have some tweaking to do. The car actually handles pretty well with only minor adjustments in my opinion.

That would be good. I tried driving the MR2 tonight and wouldn't mind having a look at your tune as I was struggling to get rid of the oversteer (this was the '86 supercharged version).

Well that was fun.
I had to bail out because the restaurant im a chef at had the fire suppressive system go off. About 5000 gallons of water.

Im still trying to figure out the 86. It isnt very fast so handling is key if you want to run it. Mine still oversteers like crazy on entry but it is easy to control. I've done some full turn drifts in it at GVE-R right in front of people before and managed to hold onto it.

I have the same issue with mine, I've got most of it tamed down. Mine doesn't oversteer on entry, but exiting it does. Maybe I should stop trying to exit full throttle. Hmmm.....

I had changed my ride height to -3/+5 and dumped 100kg of ballast at position 0 (front of the car) and it was still oversteering on exit. I didn't play with it for very long so will try again later... maybe before the next 80s race.

Is the normal NSX frowned upon also, or is it just the NSX-R? I'd like to start setting one up if everyone is cool with it. If they're both too quick I won't bother.

I haven't tried the MR2 myself, but if you're struggling with oversteer you could try decreasing the rear spring rate. Try a ratio of 1.5:1 (ie. 7.5kg/mm front and 5kg/mm rear) to start and keep the ride height constant front to rear. It'll prevent too much weight transfer to the front wheels and keep the rear planted as long as you keep in the power enough. A well tuned mid engine car will usually have a slight tendency to understeer.

Okay thanks, I will give it a go. I have a feeling that I made it about 1:1 last night.

By the way, those custom tracks last night were terrible. But it could be fun if chuyler or another host could collect good custom tracks to make one of the open nights a custom track night.

Hahaha, they were great tracks. Really hyped up 80's night, and kept one person from dominating as usual.

I agree, those tracks were ridiculous, especially with a full room.

The first one wasn't so bad. I had a rubbish EXA fit. The second one was truly horrible. It looked like someone tried to flatten a roller coaster.

I left just before the third one.

I don't have any muscle cars, so I probably won't join tonight. Which is just as well.

I've run that exact EXA setup a few times, and have been fairly competitive with it. What did you find wrong with it?

Adding 100kg of ballast should have given the car a 50/50 balance so a 1:1 ratio on the springs may have worked.

I'll be on by 9:45 at the latest to host tonight.

Sorry, there was a pubber in an integra or something so i just went down the list and removed everyone not on my friend list. Last week we had big issues with how pubbers were behaving.

Anyone else that wants to join, please send a friend req to the lobby host first.
