okay fair enough chuyler. sedans it is! :)

Looking forward to pre-70's night. I was running laps of the ring the other night with my mate in a HT 2000GT-R '70 which was quite fun. That was stock at 380pp, and while it would be possible to get it up to 450pp, I think keeping it at 450pp would mean that a lot of cars in the pre-70 class would get ruled out.

My vote would be 400pp or less.

I saw the DELTA last night as well, but for some reason I thought it was leadbedr driving it lol

👍👍

I think it's a pretty cool car (Delta) I've messed around with it a bit but haven't been able to tune out the handling/performance characteristics I don't like that are associated with AWD (the reason I usually only drive RWD vehicles). Be cool to try it out in any event.

juju, not sure if you are agreeing with the statement or not.

EDIT - NVM. you added the thumbs :P

Yeah, there are a lot of older cars that I think would be a blast to race, but there is no way you could get them to 450pp, or if you could, it would ruin the character of the car.

Is it okay to use a 190E 2.5-16 tonight?

It's got a huge ass wing on it. I probably won't use it.

Juju agreed... My mate was in a 2 gear corvette and loving it

Sleight - it fits the spec

It's really a racing homologation version of a normal car, so I think I'll stay away from it. I won't mind if other people run it though as long as they don't kill everything else.

Actually you can get a lot of them to 450pp(skyline 70/73-fairlady 2000-lancer 1600 GSR....) all without weight reduction... And it doesn't ruined the character of the car..they are so much fun to drive! (that's why I used them a lot in open races like yesterday)👍

The 190E is Ok. It's not something you'd pick up at Hertz but it fits the requirements and is close to 450pp in stock trim. I just ran a few cars at highspeed ring during lunch to see what I was going to run. I installed but did not mess with the custom suspension or transmission on each of the following

Volvo sedan -- pretty neutral handling but slow as a dog.
139mph near redline before braking for first turn.
BMW 330i -- awesome balance and fast through the corners, decent straight line speed. 144mph but didn't hit redline. Might be able to squeeze more speed with a lower setting.
Citroen V6 -- horrible understeer but extremely fast in a straight line.
148mph near redline. Almost 1 second faster than BMW through sector 1 but falls back in sector 2 due to understeer.

I know we're not running HSR tonight but I use it just to get a quick feel for a car using the controller. It's pretty much the only track I can drive with the controller.

Regarding Sunday night. I also looked through my collection. Most cars are bone stock between 320-380pp. So we'll make it 400pp so that more can be included. No idea what I'm going to run. Some are very light and have very little horse power so the PP may not reflect their actual performance.

I have hatches, no sedans. Guess I'll get to bed early tonight. :)

Hot hatches are cool! I actually had quite a few in my collections, i would suggest hatches for next week nurburgring night....
i havent got the chance to look for cars in my classic collection yet, i bet its gonna be an interesting series....
:)

400pp needs comfort ****in soft!:)

Yes, the OP states we'll be using CS tires with these classics. No sense in running SS tires with cars that might only have 150 hp.

I really can't tune my own. Some possibilities for tonight:

IS200
ISF
Accord Euro-R

They are all Japanese, though. I have enjoyed just how stable the Skyline 350GT Sedan has been in the past, but I doubt I could make it fast.

p.s. The E-type is from 1961. It is quite fun, if a little roly-poly.

Tonight's theme is a tour of the streets of Europe! We will start in London and make our way to Italy! Pack your family up in a sporty 4-door sedan and tour the cities in style.

Euro Sedan Night -- 450pp, 4 doors (midsized sedan), FR/FF drivetrain only
Tracks: London, Madrid, Monaco, Rome

Sunday we will pull out some antiques. Pre 1975 lightweight classics. 1000kg maximum weight so leave your muscle cars in the garage and try some of those whacky japanese cars. Do some recon to see if you can get your preferred car to 450pp. If not, we can drop it to 400-425pp.

Thursday is going to be "Same Make Night". To kick things off, I have chosen a car I don't think I've seen anyone use on the track. The Delta HF Integrale from the premium car dealer should mix things up a bit. Add your preferred mods to get it to 450pp and tune the car for fast laps at Deep Forest Reverse. Don't forget to paint it and add slick wheels! The first race kicks off at 10:00PM and the winner will get to choose the "same make" car for the next week. After DFR, we'll use lobby vote to pick other tracks.

3 things
You picked my favorite track for Same Make Night :embarrassed: I feel special
Wonder how many BMWs we'll see tonight??
For the pre-1975 I'm betting the Alpines or Ginetta will be more popular than the Japanese classics

The ginetta is a blast, but I'll probably be in my mini marcos :D

You best be dropping a knee on Same Make Night then.

Aww, I just realised that the cars I was eyeing off does not fit weight restrictions without applying weight reductions (which I prefer not to do)..

117COUPÉ '68 - 1050kg
SKYLINE 2000GT-B (S54A) '67 - 1095kg

Any chance of a weight increase? If not, all good. Still plenty of options.

I plan on running a 240Z with 10kg shaved off.

Weight reduction is allowed for cars slightly over the limit...but save the muscle cars for muscle car night. I've seen lots of the cars I was considering mentioned. I'm going to take a few out in stock trim before spend too much time messing with the suspension and stuff. There are some really amazing looking old cars in this game, it will make for a great photo-op.

Also, similar to the Keicar night I did a while back, if after a few races there are obvious performance advantages to some cars over others, I may turn on boost-low to promote a little passing.

As for picking DFR for same-make night...it was one of the closer races we had on FF hatchback night. With two decent drafting places it should make an interesting race when everyone has the same vehicle. Of course, people will likely have different gear ratios, and weights so the best tuner may be able to out-drive the best driver. After DFR we'll do some other tracks but the winner of DFR will get to pick the next week's car.

Is there a database where you can actually sort by make/model/year/weight etc?

http://www.mygranturismo.net/carlist.php

It's somewhat flawed but it does the trick for the most part.

I'm going to try and make a spreadsheet off it. Hard to sort/filter..

I find this resource to be a bit more to my liking. It isn't complete yet but new versions are still being released which try to address any missing information and/or inaccuracies.

I use mgt most of the time. It is missing PP for a few cars though and the UCD prices obviously vary...but if you look at the rest of the site, you can figure out how to apply your own filters by entering the correct url parameters such as "max_year=1975".

I drove it first race last night. :sly:
