Yup. Think about it: Every system of Playstation has two Gran Turismo games!

No. Think about it: With the release of the PS1 and PS2 there came a GT shortly after it on the market. GT5 came out after 4 yours the PS3 had been release. It is too late.

And if it would come for the PS3 they already would have shown us a trailer at E3 or Gamescom. PD/Sony showed us always something about GT there. This year was nothing. From my point of view, they couldnt show anything, because it is next gen (PS4) and they have to wait till Sony officially show the PS4.

The PS3 may have a 10 year life circle, but it will end up like the PS2. You can still buy a PS2 and games, even after 6 1/2 years after the PS3 release.

My bet is all in on a PS4 release. They have to make too many compromises with a PS3 release.

Everyone keeps bringing up the 10 year life cycle and 2 GTs per console. Both are good ideas but arent relevant. Yes plan was 10years but Sony didn't anti silage the speed of technological growth 8 years ago plus it's the business of compatition too so they can't just sit around for 3 more years and let Nintendo and Microsoft cash in while they don't get any turnover.and GT x2 per console wouldn't really work as once GT1 came out that was it, straight to 2 (same with 3 to 4) but 5 had disadvantage, glitches and problems to deal with and with PSN, they could so they did delaying any actual progress GT6 would make. I wouldn't mind GT6 in ps3 but weighing up rumors, possibilities and competition.... Seems slim. Just think forza4 may be beatable but forza 5 might be the next opponent so then what? Fall even further behind.....

Edit: Unless they bring out a class act for 6 and get on with GT7 for ps4 then that could work too as long as no year delays again

Gran Turismo 6 should be on the Playstation 4 because there were limitations that GT5 could not get past on the PS3. The split ram processor could not keep up with some of the graphics so it had to be scaled back. PD has utilized most of what the PS3 has to offer. Other developers have had the same issue, just look at Skyrim and the Dawnguard release. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net...n-of-skyrim-might-not-ever-get-dawnguard-dlc/

Even PD had their sites on a better gaming experience.

I think 60fps is more than enough. All above is if we start talking slow motion recording. And actually i think perhaps for ps3 30fps online would be better so the network code could follow what is happening. If its consistent at 30 fps (no 3d) then it would look nice anyway. 120Hz, it will just cause inputlag. TV's handle 60 hz the rest is just generated by the tv which causes delay when it calculates. So best the best you can see is 60fps, the rest is lost anyway. 120hz monitor/tv (100hz in many countries) is mostly for 3D so you get 60/hz per channel. Correct me if im wrong...

No, people notice a very positive and worthwhile difference when playing PC games with high frame rates which makes motion look noticeably better when using true 120hz 2D monitors like this Asus. This is not post processing frames by the television like everything on the market, it's 100% lag free real frames... I think Sony and Microsoft are aware that the next consoles need GPU's that can output 120hz 2D and maybe even up to 240hz 3D especially if Sony is thinking about a new SimulView monitor @ 120hz x 2.

Right now there's a serious shortage of displays which do this anyway (plus capable sources/media), but by next year most manufacturers will have their next gen OLED displays on the market that should support that. I just hope the consoles will, cause if they don't I don't see any significance to next gen graphics, we're not going past 1080p anytime soon. I would just LOVE to see GT running with DX11 at 120hz.

As far as I know there isn't a single TV that's able to output "true" (or "active") 120hz. As of now it is just a marketing stunt, of something available in PCs for 15 years or more.

Also graphics sell more than fluidity, so GT6 will run at 60fps and not 120.

But didn't they consider Prologue a "full game"? At least it was treated like one.. So really, there has been two GT's on the PS3.

There was also a Gt4 prologue which came out in europe in 2004, a year before the full game so 2 on PS1, 3 on Ps2 and 2 on ps3 (including the prologues)

Yeah I had a feeling there's no TV's that accept 120hz currently, but you have to consider that these next consoles will be on the market up to 2020, so if there's nothing new in terms of GPU output capability over what we have now, it won't be good. It's not just a marketing stunt, it is in fact easily noticeable (from what I've read).

By 2015 OLED TV's will likely be relatively affordable for people, and I'm sure they will all be 120hz compatible. Fluidity is key to a game like GT in my opinion.

Going from 60hz 60fps to "true" 120hz paired with a 120fps game is very noticeable.

Thing is having a 120hz screen with a 60fps game is not ground breaking. For that the game must also run at 120fps, and that brings the same problem with deciding to have a game running at 60fps instead of the usual 30: worse graphics on consoles.

I can't see why sony would cheap out in not making it 120hz compatible though, which is different than games running at 120fps (so 30/60fps 120hz)

So now i feel convinced GT6 is PS4 game.
GT5 Academy version is coming soon to PS3 and seems like its staying all 2013.
At the same time you have the Real World Data Import coming 2013 for GT5.
I think GT6 is 2014 release together with PS4. Nothing else seems realistic and actually economicly right to do otherwise.

What do you mean 'staying all 2013'? Where is it going to go?

Nowhere does it say it's coming to GT5.

This drive can then be attached to a PlayStation 3 console, where the lap can be reproduced and viewed within Gran Turismo 5.

Well i read otherwise, and im refering to 2013 that GT5 is the version that is the one they stay with, gt6 is not coming 2013. With that i belive chances are 0% gt6 is a ps3 game.

So? It can possibly come over to GT6 too. Won't GT6 use the same the engine as GT5?

Dont know if it is same engine or not. It will certainly be for gt6 too. Who knows perhaps its ps3 & 4 ready when it comes if the engine is as you say.

But it is the same engine, thus it'll come out quicker. It all depends on Sony. For me, I really want GT6 to be on PS3 though. ;)

If it's on the PS4 well... Lets just say everyone will be pissed off, me included if GT6 ends up like GT5.

That is still not confirmation there won't be a GT6 in 2013.

considering we have yet to see a single GT6 screenshot 2013 is out of the question by far, we were seeing GT5 stuff years before it came out, and that doesn't count the delays.

Two weeks ago nobody had seen Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, it's still going to be a current gen game out next year.

Kojima vs Kaz, apples and oranges, meanwhile PD is still releasing GT5: XL Academy Super 2012 Edition or whatever, milking GT5 for every single last penny two years later with no changes to the core gameplay 👎

Yeah... and that is heard by Kojima, and he has a release record as rock as Kaz's.

Have they finished releasing GT5 yet though?
I'm sure a few more editions may yet come out.

Think were up to 3 GT5's already.

Good point, but I don't see one of Sony's biggest money making franchises, PD announcing GT6 in the last minute for a 2013 release, unless it's planned for a 2014 release on either system.

True but I think after the debacle of GT5 Sony and/or PD have decided they're not going to say or show anything until they're 100%, absolutely sure it's going to be ready to go when they say it is, not long after. They want to avoid releasing a trailer a couple of years before the planned release then not making it, releasing the game 4 years after the trailer.

Anyway like I said in the relevent thread, I firmly believe TGS is where we will know the fate of GT6. If it's shown there, it could be a PS3 game. If we don't see anything at TGS then it really is too late and it's a PS4 game.

So, where is it written that a game MUST have active promotion a full year (or 2) before release?

It was agonizing to wait for GT5 after GT5p released. 2 years f daily intense anticipation for any sort if meaty information was unbearable.

We have had little bits lately, that is all we need right now. Do I want full details on every aspect of GT6 development? You bet'cha!!! But, that's not gonna happen.

Also you have to bear in mind with a game like GT there isn't going to be THAT much to show and promote with each game, it doesn't need that much of a build up if everything goes to plan.

I mean take Forza 4 as a prime example, we had the tech demo with Kinect at E3 2010 but the game itself wasn't formally revealed until Spike VGAs in December 2010. The game was released in October 2011, 10 months later.

If GT6 was announced at TGS later this month it could easily be released by late summer/autumn 2013.
