You need to have a code that was given with the Anniversary Edition of the game. I would be shocked if you could find a working code now. These aren't cars that can be purchased. They were given away for free with the special editions of the game.

The difference in both cars is the power and torque when tuned to 550pp, the anniversary edition loses 2bhp but gains some torque and a better powerband, this seems to be worth a couple of tenths (mostly in T2).

Here's a video of my best lap... for now :)



Lost some on T1 and the corner after it, the rest of the lap's pretty damn good though!
 
What a lovely combination - never got on with Willows previously, but the Cobra works really, really well here :)

Had an hour yesterday afternoon and down to a low 1'10.6 with around another .3 left.

Much more enjoyable than the 'understeer everywhere' GTA cars.
 
@Stotty Great isn't it? Would you share your set-up? I've been having a lot of fun with this one, running it stock and tuned, and on sports tyres but I'm sure my "tune" is less than optimal.

Here's the tune I'm using - it's pretty much @MOPARbarrett5 tune on the previous page with a few adjustments (if I get time I'll put some more effort in to it, but feels good enough to run a low 1'10 as it stands)...

No oil change, no chassis strengthening
Engine stage 1 @ 100% power limiter (not sure if this is best combo, but tried the Supercharger quickly and was faster with engine 1)

Ride 115 80
Springs 10.62 7.98
Bound 6 4
Rebound 4 4
ARB 4 7
Camber 0 0
Toe 0 0
Brakes 5 8
Gears (reset, set max speed to minimum, then set individuals as follows)

Thanks @Stotty (and @MOPARbarrett5 ) đź‘Ť Certainly did help. I was stuck around 12.5 with my "tune" and did an 11.8 almost straight out of the blocks. I had an interesting first lap though. Lost it on the first bend but thought, I know Stotty likes a fast and loose set-up so I'll persevere. Set off again and lost it on the second bend too. Thought something must be up but finished the lap slithering all over the place. Checked the settings - RH on the front and SM on the back. :dunce:
Previously I'd been trying for gold on SM and omitted to change the rear tyres.

Edit - 11.4 now with the supercharger. I don't know if there's much in it. I'd previously been swapping between the supercharger and stage 1 and every time I changed I went faster and convinced myself that one or the other was faster. I suppose I can look forward to an 11.2 when I change back. Got gold on SM too. SH next. :D

I know what you're saying, but let's say, next week, when the A-Spec seasonals come out you decide to use this car over and over. You CAN recoup the money spent on the car. Granted, it will take a long time...but it can be done!

Yes, RH is still backwards. Nose up, ass down is faster and makes for better rotation. Its a damn shame PD goes and makes the same ass mistake, especially when in GT5 they more or less admitted it was backwards by attempting to fix it then turn around only to make the same mistake in GT6. The phrase "a bunch of monkeys trying to 🤬 a football" comes to mind. :lol:

Yeah, from my limited time with the SC, I didn't think there was much difference either - I was slightly behind going in to the 1st corner, but held the gap through the rest of the lap, gaining a bit here, losing a bit there.

Might dig the anniversary car out of my stockyard and see if that's any faster.

I think the car would be more fun and closer to its real life grip levels on SS... it certainly wouldn't have had anywhere near the game's levels of downforce in real life :lol:
 
I don't have the anniversary model but mcsqueegy reckoned it was maybe a couple of tenths faster.
So far I've done
Stock on RH 1:14.8
Stock on SS 1:17.2 - I think gold is possible but not for me.
Stock on SS 1:15.9 (camber and toe set to zero)
Tuned on RH 1:11.4
Tuned on SM 1:15.9

As you can guess I'm having a lot of fun with this. And I agree RH and max downforce is way beyond how this car would have been in real life.

I can't feel any difference with the anniversary model - lap times within a few hundredths for me at least.

I don't understand the money thing. My account sits at 50 million and all of the earnings are wasted. If I have to buy a car I buy it, and I'm back to 50 million in no time, then all the earnings are again wasted. I've wasted more than 50 million dollars on the "you can't have more than 50 million credits" screen for sure. I used to buy the 20 million dollar cars just so I wouldn't have to see that screen for a while, but I have long since purchased all of them.

Cheers @Stotty for the awsome tune which puts me in 209th with 1:11.561, I should be able to find some more time from somewhere.
 
I have to say this car handles very nicely. For what I've seen, older cars tend to be a handful. I slapped a quick generic tune on it, hit the track and managed a decent lap without much effort.

Oh, you can't put a number on the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe? That is beyond lame. I happen to have the 15th Anniversary Edition which has that awful paint job...no circular area on the doors like your version of the car. Wow. There are so many little things that just don't even make sense.

That's just how PD rolls. It's not even funny how many things PD does that make you scratch your hear. It is what it is. I have the Anniversary Edition as well, but preferred to use this version of the car instead as it looks nicer.
