And of course the overly nooby Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo is top of the lists. :grumpy:

I think the best car for this would be definitely tuned GT-R level, and also maybe an RS6 Avant might get in there somewhere. You know what this reminds me of?

A Seasonal Time Trial. :D :P

If I'm not mistaken, the GT1 Turbo can't hold a candle to the NSX Type R '02, unless the S2000 has a ton of performance points  Never driven it....

I may give this a try tonight since PSN is down.

I just spent 4 hours trying and retrying, arms are hurting (damn you, egg :) ), but in the end i clocked two of the most scary & rewarding laps i ever did.

That's what i got:
Bugatti Veyron (688PP): 6:51,137
Dodge Viper ACR (672PP): 6:49,919

The Veyron lap could be improved, but i'm exhausted and can't concentrate enough to brake that early the whole lap.

Good work in the F1, last time i tried i was far from getting under 7 Minutes, tonight it would kill me.

I figured the NSX-R Protoytpe LM Roadcar would be up to the challenge. I can run the 'Ring in about 6:30 or so...I think my best lap is around 6:28 with soft racing tires. Well the sports hard add a lot more time than I expected. I think I need to adjust my tune, but so far I'm in the 7 teens.

I fully admit this car is a cheat, but it is a roadcar!

you must have missed the prototype part

Instead of trying to define what is and isn't a road car, why don't you just specify it has to have 0 Front Downforce? It will take out all the 'cheater' cars like Stealth McLaren, R390 "Road Car" and the Amuse S2000 GT cars.

I chuckled a little when I read this. The Zonda isn't a street car because it isn't road legal but it also isn't a race car. The McLaren technically is a street car, but would you really consider it one? Would you go to starbucks in it? Most just sit in private showrooms.

Of course not, you would use your Carrera GT to go to Starbucks

The McLaren is for going to church :sly:

Also, leaderboard updated 👍

Edit: There has been a lot of discussion in this thread regarding what cars are allowed or not. Unfortunately there are a few cars where it is not clear if they are considered street legal or not. This is just meant to be a fun challenge, there's no prize. If you think a particular car is "cheating" then don't use it.
Even using one of these "cheater" cars, it still takes a decent bit of skill to get it under 7min in my opinion.

What I would really like to see is more than 2 names on the leaderboard

Ran a 6:58.195 in the '07 GTR. Got video posted on youtube if anybody wants to check it out. Fairly clean lap. Theres maybe a few seconds left on the table, but not much.

Been playing with the Sony Bloggie for the first time today and decided to try and upload some vids. Came out pretty good for first timer.

I'll go ahead and post a rwd vid soon. Thinkin of trying my fully tuned SVT Cobra to see if its even possible at sub 7 min. That one will be pretty hairy on sports hard.

You know I saw prototype there, and my mind went right to the group C cars, but you are correct. I'll not waste my time any further with that.

What about the various SEMA tuner cars? Are they fair game? Seems like they fall under that category of tuner cars, but I'm not sure just how functional they are in real life.

I'm going to say the NSX-R Protoytpe LM Roadcar is OK, it does clearly say road car in the name. The main car I was trying to avoid being included was the Mazda Furai.

The Sema cars are OK, they are street tuner cars.

The ZR1 is my next challenge, have a 7'03.7xx on record; just need to find some time from somewhere :irked:

I'm working on getting the Mine's BNR34 (stock setup but with bigger turbo) on that list, did a 7:00,8xx and a 7:00,49x yesterday. Almost made it in the evening (i think i was on a 6:58 lap),
but then i got nervous and hit the wall of the pit entrance in the last bit, ended up with a 7:04,xxx :dunce:
Good luck with the ZR1, i tried it already but gave up after a few seconds, don't like the handling with my current setup.

I tried with the lexus isf but I ran out of talent ! Nutty amount of downforce by default it seems. About the only fr car I can manage at all!

I guess I'll give some 4wd a shot. Dam this game isn't so fun offline I miss my 450pp races around the ring !

Nice idea 👍

Tried the NSX-R LM Road Car... Only wound the rear toe off and added a bit of camber, otherwise stock settngs. Absolutely lovely car to drive, very, very well balanced.

6'58.706

Ran an out lap and 2 flying laps, so still a bit to come with more wheel time and some further suspension work. Shame it only makes 613bhp with the biggest turbo... it would handle another 100bhp without becoming super difficult to drive.

Replay available.

My NSX-R LM Road Car has 669bhp, why has your car only got 613?

Dunno... I'll check tomorrow, but I thought mine had all the power upgrades.

Edit: found the missing ponies... I hadn't given it the stage 3 engine upgrade. Looking forward to giving it a run with another 56bhp tomorrow 👍

Can we use the cars with Race Modification?

I will fire up the game tomorrow and have a few laps. Should be fun 👍

OK8
This is what I wanted to do also but couldn't even get near the leaderboards. Best time was 7:46.423 with mistakes.

Yeaaah I just tried it with everything but suspension and drivetrain upgrades. BAD idea. IF the power can be harnessed by S1's then there's a possibility of a sub-7 minute but I don't think it can be done :(

It says "no tuning/modification restrictions" which means you can do what you like (except change tires)

Mine's Skyline allowed ? I can also post a vid if a can get a good time xD.

Yep, that's allowed 👍

I'm pretty happy with the variety of cars so far.
I'll update the leaderboard once I get onto a computer, I'd rather not do it from my phone.

After trying this for a couple times I noticed there was a specific thread for Yellowbird laptimes on the ring with Sports Hard. The best I could manage was 7:39.330 so I guess shaving 40 seconds is out of the question. My car is stock.

But it's still not a bad idea, it's a great one. The car with these tyres is so stimulating not many cars in this game come even close.
