GM apparently trademarked "LT5" recently.

Wouldn't it be cool if they brought back a 4 cam V8 to compete with Ford's flat-plane engine? It probably wouldn't be necessary, prudent, or even wise to do so, but it would definitely be cool.

Depends on where you are in the country and what your market usually looks like. Living on the opposite side of the state from Detroit, early releases for special Mustangs usually run anywhere from $3-12k, depending on colors, options, and all that other junk. Last major markup I remember seeing was for the GT500 'vert that had a market adjustment of $6000 on top of the sticker price. Not entirely ridiculous given that it was one of the first on the road, but, still something I'd want to wait on.

Here when the GT500 and ZL1 were first introduced there were $15-20k markups. Same with the hellcat now. Even worse.

Don't they markup breathing in certain neighborhoods of SF?

[This is a friendly jab, its the city I'm trying to move to]

Haha, no offense taken. It's absolutely true. Its because people here are willing to pay for ridiculous markups. Just because either they can or because they have to be the first.

I saw a 4,000.00 mark up at my dealership on a '13 Camaro V6 I tried to get it but was only allowed 16,000.00 max for my first loan but now that I got my first new car a '13 Chevy Spark LS at 12,500.00 :D now after almost 2 yrs of payments more opportunities, I've never been offered before are being available to me like credit cards. I'm hopping when I pay it off I can get a Turbo 4 Camaro my dream car, I love Camaro's :P

What are you like 17? The dream car can wait. Buy a full-house SS when you can comfortably afford it. Don't stretch for a base model...

No I'm 39 I want the 2.0 T4 no reason for a V8 in Ohio when I mostly drive in the city. My Spark has 84hp and it's a really cool car my Spark

Wow! what an amazing exhaust sound, it was a great day, that day I bought my first new car :sly:

Isn't the Camaro and the ATS coupe sharing platforms?

The ATS, CTS and Camaro all are based on the Alpha chassis, and all three will be built at the Delta Township factory in Lansing, Michigan. The Camaro will have a wheelbase that's about an inch longer than the ATS, but still be a good bit shorter than the CTS.

The 2016 I got to see at the Detroit GP on Saturday was much, much nicer than I anticipated. Although I don't necessarily love all the angles and curves, the photos make everything look much more dramatic than it is - or, seemed to be - based on that reddish/orangish color the show car had.

I love the new look of the camaro, i think it looks really good in fact i think i might get one in 2 years, a SS Convertible... everything about it looks good, the booty looks awesome a bit covette inspired and the front end looks beautiful. It looks waay better than the new mustang, the mustang looks too much like a aston martin the front and looks rather ugly, plus ford puts a freakin v6 and I4 into everything now. I domt care if it has lots of power i want it to sound like a muscle car not a kia

Yes but with the ford forces you to get a I4 if you want to upgrade, chevys putting in there base,

Ford --- Chevy

V6--------I4
I4---------V6
V8--------V8

You have to get the top of the line model in either case to get the V8.

Weren't you just complaining about you having a car that sounds like a Kia? Either way, you'll have to get the high end models to get a V8 on any American modern muscle car.

Remember, 1987? You "buy" the 4-cylinder LX and tick the box "5.0 V8". You got to keep the low grade interior and got choice of gears. Just the 15x7 wheels, 225/60s is all that was available for the exterior. So, the way these packages are, it does force you to buy everything to get a V8.

How is Ford forcing people into an Inline-4 if they want to upgrade?
The V6 is a stripper fleet model, and Ford doesn't let you do anything to it but put a single different set of wheels on. To get anything, even interior options, first you have to tack a couple grand on top of it to get the EcoBoost.

Chevy, because of how GM trim levels have worked for the past 5 years or so, will almost certainly let you get pretty much anything with pretty much any engine and pretty much any transmission. I'm not entirely sure that is what his point was, but he's not technically wrong.

ooooohhhhh, he was talking about options. I thought he was saying that you are forced into upgrading to an Inline-4 rather than a V8 or something. My mistake. :dunce:

Special Camaro model for Goodwood Festival of Speed?
It could just be the Euro. model unveiling.
