Toyota seem to be lacking the Audi pace this practice, maybe they are sandbagging for qualifying later. Delta wing is mixing it with the LMP2 cars, currently 29th with a 3:43.995, quicker than the test day by a few seconds.

EDIT: Delta Wing is down to a 3:34.576, and 28th. Audi's into the 3.26's now.

Maybe, but I think their pace at the moment isn't all that bad. Shame that the other car don't get a lot of running at the moment with a transmission problem. The Delta Wing is also not bad...

8 seconds behind Audi's pace for the Deltawing. That thing seems to be on fire for such a small thing!

EDIT Nevermind, it ran 3'43. 3'34 was probably a typo :P

While the Eurosport commentators said that the E-Tron Quattro Audi works beautifully in wet, the Delta Wing is a pain. Simply because in wet, the water doesn't disperse, instead it just stays under the car. It's looking quite dark there.

I clicked "Listen Live" and it opened in Quicktime, and only played for about 4 seconds, as if it was a short MP3 clip. I had to find a different link...

Close the site reload it and try again. It can take several attempts for the player pop up to appear.

25.1 by my man Lotterer in the e-tron! WOO!

3 and a half seconds to the nearest Toyota, which is a lot, and looks rather onimous. Fantastic lap anyway. Must remember RLM suggested 3:22.xxx for the fastest qualifying time ...

I kinda love the sound made by the e-tron Quattro. Sounds like a ray gun charging up

A long 2 hours wait now. Hopefully the Toyotas can find some more pace.

Toyota has deforming rear wings? Is that allowed? Any pics?

I found some in racecarengineering.com and in mulsannecorner if I'm not mistaken. The endplate of their rear wing is indeed weird and has a front part that bends at speed. It's the A.C.O call there.

I wonder what that other yellow arrow's trying to imply... some weird sort of LMP f-duct?

It doesn't 'move'. They passed scrutineering, the car is legal.

But it DOES move. I've seen pictures of it, on the previous page.

They have to change the splitter on the 458 because the Road car one does deform at speed, but this is ok?

Could well be. And looking at the shot of the rear wing, there's a vertical open slot at the base of the fin support.

Exit point for the air to flow out onto the rear wing (if the hole at the front is the entry point)?

I know that, but I thought there was a Catch-all rule for all classes which specifically prohibits moving wings and such. Otherwise, I'm sure Audi (And Aston when they were in) would have exploited it by now.

I wouldn't stress it yet. I'd rather Toyota focus on race set-up rather than showing glimpses of pace in qualifying, and losing it all in the race.
