EDIT: Just seen the message, won't post the video here. Just type Allan Simonsen crash on Youtube and it's one of the first results, the Corvette onboard.

Which side was he sat, was it left hand drive or right? If it's right...oh God...:nervous:

Right side mate.

Just seen that video. :(

Can I remind everyone it is against the GTP AUP to post fatal crash videos.
The crash in point wasn't fatal at the time of it, so I see nothing wrong with people posting the link to it. So, you can stop with the mini-mod attempt with that font.

You don't see the actual crash happening in the onboard-video, you only see how he spun out right before the crash. Is it still against the AUP?

It doesn't show the crash itself, but the scene and the exact momento..

Yes

Just seems so weird how the race just goes on. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they should cancel the race or anything. Just odd is all. Great racing driver, and is surely a great loss to the world of motorsport. Makes it even worse that it happens when they were in such a good position to win the championship in their class.

Terrible news. I swear the number of terrible accidents has been much higher this year than the norm.

Then again, all sports are dangerous. You can have a heart attack playing football, or die from injuries in the boxing ring. Even snooker can be dangerous, as those standing around the table have, on rare occasion been subject to the force of a fast travelling ball which as left the table.

We should be thankful that safety in motor racing has improved so much, but these events can never be safe.

RIP Allan Simonsen

SPEED (live) has still not said anything about Simonsen.

It's sad when race car drivers demonstrate the flaws of race tracks with loss of life.

Let's not talk about what who said what or when. It's pointless, bluntly.
Let's keep talking about the LMP2, GT Pro/Am or even LMP1.

It looks like one of the factory corvettes got into him by accident. Surprised speed has had no mention of this!

Pay attention, the Vette never touched him, and also remember that this isn't the Nascar thread this crowd wont be as easy on you.

It's indeed very sad, that Simonsen didn't survive the crash. He made Denmark proud, and may he rest in peace.

I would say some people here appear to be in a bit of shock. I'd advise everyone to cool it, go get a drink or some fresh air or something. AUP or not, I think its a good idea we don't post it. Let's discuss that when the dust has settled, its a bit tender right now.

I'm sure next year in that place will be a tyre wall.
They seriously need to implement tire walls on all corners.
