A light-hearted look at GT4

No matter how different the stud pattern or actual rim size may be.. you can fit any wheel from any car on any other car. For example, you can easily fit the steel wheels from an old VW Beetle onto a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Apparently, a couple of car wash techs rubbing a couple random areas will restore the shine on any car. PD's patented "spin cycle" car wash does the rest.

You can take the weight off a car, but you can't put it back on.

Unless of course you (by that i mean me) manged to forget there is ballast weight before you decided to post the earlier fact...:dunce:

There's no such thing as driver changeovers in 24 hour enduros.

You cannot enter a Caterham Seven in a race, but you can enter a Toyota Prius in a race.
Gullwing doors are always left open at car dealerships.
Used car dealers sell rare Le Mans Prototypes once every 100 weeks.
Driving aids such as traction control come standard on all cars, including cars built in the 1950's and earlier.

Some cars (cant remember what ones) you can upgrade the turbo but you're not allowed to upgrade the cooling system.

Not all turbo-charged cars have intercoolers in real life, though. Some older models don't even have a waste gate!

Just noticed another great idiosyncrasy of GT4, the non-correspondence of the cars in the race entry screen with the actual cars in the race!

Entered the MG Festival, which according to the picture of the cars appearing in the series in the Hong Kong picture at the beginning of the event, is contested by VW Golf GTi MkIs!

In GT4, tuning doesn't change the car's behavior, it merely alters it from varying degrees of understeer.

Running lights do not light the road.

Rebel pilots watch the Monte Carlo races.

Porsches look like Rufs.

You can instantly find a buyer to sell your 300,000 prize car.

You can't run over a traffic triangle.

Skylines and Evos have more variations than adjectives for god.

The real driving simulator is about racing.

If you fit nitrous to your Subaru WRX STi Spec-C you are UNBEATABLE!! It allows you to do 7's on the 1/4, 300mph top speed and lap as quickly as an LMP car.

In a straight line... thats not bang bang.
I bet understeer makes it turn as well as a 59 Eldorado!
And tire consumption makes LMP cars seem timid.

300mph isn't in a straight line, you have to go around a really really long left hander. ;)

Actually, you worry more about oversteer rather than understeer, and if you are understeering a slight VCD change fixes it more often than not.

And tire consumption makes LMP cars seem timid.
What's this tire consumption you speak of......it's a time attack car, and there's no tire wear on Free Run. :D

According to GT4 England is the only country in UK.
(Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales don't exist on the GT4 map of UK! :dunce:)

Also the showroom you enter when clicking on UK icon (which would include Northern Ireland) is the British Showroom (which wouldn't include Northern Ireland!)

Wider tires for more grip doesn't exist.

You can NEVER fly off the Grand Canyon rally track. :sly:

On Citta Di Aria, the corner after the back straight fails to tell you when to brake & shift down, eventually, hitting the barrier.

Lexus aren't Japanese-based automobiles (according to PD, apparently); therefore we can't race them in Japanese-based events. BUT we can race Lexus IS-series vehicles in the Altezza Cup.

Maybe they consider Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to be independent countries, seeing as they all have their own legislative assemblies.

You've made a mistake, o humble driftking...NEVER take this thread too seriously! ;)

Yeah, I guess I did.

Anyone seem to notice that you can fit a bottle of nitrous to a Ford Model T?

Yea, the Model T Ford's major dinosaur, seems silly to even desire to put nitrous on. On the other hand, people often actually do attach such to Model As when they convert them to dragsters and funny cars!

Damn, now I'm starting to take this thread to seriously...
