A new maintenance notice announced

I hope they leaving modding alone. I'll wait on the update and backup my game save just in case.

The maintainance is going to make all cars standard, remove any DLC you have already paid for, and introduce 12 new bugs and glitches

Hacking is hacking no matter what you call it.
Modding is singleplayer stuff (gtasa, nfs etc.)
When it starts affecting tens of thousands of legimate users, then its a problem

on topic...

You're right, it has affected tens of thousands of legitimate users, in a positive way, by bringing people back to the game to enjoy it in a new way. Online was almost dead 2 months ago and it's revived to a great degree now. All thanks to modding.

This maintenance is for sure GT6, free to all non-hackers...lol.

Hacking. You mean hacking.

There's a difference...

100,000hp X1 = hacking

Realistic swaps = modding

Big difference. I'm really tired of people bashing modders like myself that make realistic cars to enhance the game for personal use out like we're a uncontrollable disease in GT5.

Here's a perfect example, a teaser video we made for my upcoming season of Formula Drift. I'm running a premium Ford Mustang with the 2000 Ford Falcon V8 Supercar 5.0 V8, Corvette C7 chassis for a more realistic weight distribution since PD 🤬 up the Mustang in this game, and Brembo brakes from the ZR-1.

Modding is not all bad.

Modding happens in real life too. Bob Lutz is taking the Corvette ZR-1 engine and putting in the Fisker Karma after removing all the electric hybrid nonsense. He must be "hacking" too then...

That is real life, and doesn't concern thousands of people around the world. It doesn't affect them directly.

Whereas people like you are deliberately changing game files, to make it better for you.

Well guess what? If you don't like the game as it is, go make your own. Think you're so good, make a game that's better than Gran Turismo.

Modding has no effect on anyone, outside of the outrageously powered cars that break the PP system and are easy to filter out. HP checks do wonders. No realistic hybrid is any faster than the fastest cars at any given PP. If it makes you feel happier, I'll pull out my Elise or Evora or NSX or M3 GTR etc. and beat you every race, or I can create something with my own imagination that can compete with those cars nearly equally, but sound, look and handle the way I like them too. Either way the result is the same, I'd just rather do it at this point in a 69' Vette or some other previously uncompetitive car.

Anyone who has lost to a realistic hybrid racing online, has just lost to a better driver, it's not the car.

Hacking is messing with the files built into the game.

Modding is what people do for sims like rFactor etc. where they use the game's engine and code to build new content for it. The best ones have even become standalone titles like Reiza's Game Stock Car.

GT5's 'Hybrids' are a result of hacking. Not modding.

What are you doing to create those mods? Hacking the save file. I didn't bash you and I didn't say you were a disease but no matter what you do with the hacking tools, you're hacking.

I hope PD let the modding/hacking/cracking/cheating however it's called slide, and this will hopefully just be a regular maintenance of their servers? I have noticed that the servers at some points in the past days have been really slow when loading menus in the game, sat on the GT logo for several minutes at times, and when I browsed around the web I had no problems loading any websites except the official GT website which ran really slow (the old design when I chose UK did, I opened it to compare it with the redesigned Asian version).

Sorry, but its all considered hacking. Just because you're doing realistic "modding" as opposed to "unrealistic" modding, its all considered hacking in the end. Your "realistic" modding doesn't justify or make it any more right than someone who chooses to do "unrealistic" modding. Thats the biggest line of crap I've heard. You're no better than anyone else.

And yes, before you try to jump on me for being anti-hacking, I do also hack. I like to paint otherwise unpaintable cars. I have 1 performance moddified car, the rest are just painted. Does that make what I'm doing ok because I'm not making anything unrealistic? No, I'm still hacking the game in the end.

Guys, keep it on topic or this highly useful thread is going to be locked.

Finally a new maintenance. I hope we will finally see some new track! I can't wait to drive midfield again.

Funny how it's always been known in the GT world as "Hybrids" or "Hybriding" up until GT5 and now all of a sudden it's "hacking".

Also, I see nothing coming out of this other than maintenance. No more, no less.

Yea tis a bit funny...

What happened last time we had 2 maintenance's like this? Pretty sure an update followed IIRC (Bug fixes only IIRC). As much as I want to say only maintenance, something in my gut tells me it will be a bit more than that...

Why would it be a DLC when GT6 is coming for PS3? I doubt that's what's going on here.

Maybe it's just maintenance 💡.

At least PD still cares for GT5, hope they do their best to fix her up cause others are.... You know what, let me stop there before I get jumped.

Oh I checked the news page. I must be a few days behind..:dunce:

I'm still going with maintenance for maintenance sake.:sly:

When PD announces a DLC, and it's in the PS store, I'll believe it.
