I'm so disappointed that this week's Expert Level race is on dirt. I know some of you really enjoy that type of racing. I just happen to not care for it. It probably has something to do with my steering wheel sounding and feeling like it's going to explode at any moment when I drive these dirt courses.

Ditto! Dirt road racing is not my forte either but I gave it a few shots anyway and it's a grind to say the least!

I had a couple of goes with it, but not managed to get any higher than 3rd so far... might do it with a proper tune, but it's bloody difficult to keep it in a straight line
Stotty,
Thanks for the tune, never managed to get 6:00 but was able to win every time!!
I tried a couple of other cars but even though I got some wins, it was a lot of really hard work. The Impreza was impressive though and made it fairly effortless.
Thanks again, Pete

I love Rally races. Blew through it with the 15th anni SI audi 1st try, was way easy. Tried the Dodge Laramie and still beat it 1st try. Going to try that dodge Charger just to have a cool replay now. nice idea. Good going on the minivan, lol I love doing these with crap cars. Never thought of using one of those.

Oh btw, you can get the Subaru vision car in it. Sucks since you can't adjust the ride height and it really needs it. I mean seriously, wtf, It's a subaru, it should be able to do that. Unfortunately, the ride height thing really hurts it. Still kind of funny though, it's not horrid.

I miss my GT40 rally car from gt3.

there's a huge amount more grip on the grass at the side of the track than there is on the dirt, so cutting gives BIG advantages.
Thanks for the tip, I am in the 5:51.xxx now instead staying on the dirt.

I'm really having fun with this one. Won with the Impreza Sedan WRX STI Rally Car. Untuned other than tweaking the transmission to 118.

This is also different., (GT6 starting car), wife 1.5cc car. Sure win, other than the Quattro too far at the starting point cos this is FWD 470 pp. Haha... ( Used Ds3, steering wheel more fast)

Wow, someone else made it with the Fit! You got lucky, too. I haven't managed to get a rabbit above 6:20.

Mind showing your tune? I'm curious.

In other news, I recalled doing Toscana in the S. Loeb challenges in GT5, so I went back to it. I recall thinking it was a really tough challenge, probably because I wasn't used to dirt driving.

But after this seasonal, I golded that thing on my first shot without too much effort. Got a low 1:55, too (gold is 1:58.5, I think). Now I'm wondering why I ever thought that track was hard. Well, ****, lol.

^ :)

Bet you enjoyed it, too; I have to try that myself.

Can you even imagine trying to engineer a race like that for yourself IRL?

Oops, this is my first seasonal rally tune driving cos daughter ask me to drive mummy's car. You guys must be more experience driving rally. Can't beat the Quattro and the Evo X if I'm not mistaken cos they are too far away. Actually you got to do at least two low 1:54 to say hello to the leader, then can get gold for sure. My first win video is here (tune included/no assist). 3rd lap 'over' happy. After that, can consistently win gold without the 2 rabbits I mentioned. Hahaha... You young guys could easily do it...

I spent days on this coming 2nd in every single car I tried, had ABS set to 1, once set to zero won it with numerous different rally cars. Why ABS effects the acceleration who knows. Tried non rally cars, Range Rover easy win over the Audi S1, best drive CTR2 '96 another easy win once tuned.

I decided to try one of the cheapest cars I could find 13,900 Daihatsu Storia SX4 with just 713cc and won after a lot of tuning and practice, never managed to beat the Audi though when it was the lead car, always 2 seconds behind no matter how quick I went.

All using DS3

Thanks for the tune @Stotty, it got me the win on my 3rd run against the RS200 rabbit.

I'd previously tried (so many times) in the 15th aniv Quattro, RS200, RSC Rally, and could only make 2nd at best... although easy 2nd's, I just could not break 1st.

I really enjoyed the difficulty of this event, it was so much fun, not frustrating or rage quit inducing.

I think you were pulling pretty good laps in the Fit: I ran a couple of races and couldn't better 1:56 :dopey:.

I tried a 97 AWD Daihatsu Move but it just did not have the power - managed fifth. Then ran the Storia x4 and was kissing the back of the lead car (Quattro or Delta - can't remember :dunce:) into the final turn but he pulled away.

Also had a go in my road tuned Evoque, but was pretty hopeless for third - I didn't adjust well to the weight and the setup is much too low and firm.

It has taken a lot of laps just to get back into this track, I'm enjoying it though.

The Stoira X4 is a great car, I reckon possible to beat the Audi if you can do three perfect laps.. Might try again later.

Just tried the Kei Works 02 with just 658cc and got 2nd, the handling of this car in incredible but needs about 20% more power to win.

I'm trying to get into this but not feeling it yet, I enjoy the Chamonix Snow Rally but this one feels boring and irritating to me especially the corners.

The Snow Rally is really exhilarating compared to this. This feels like Choco Island in Mario Kart.

I will give it some more goes and see if I can start enjoying it.

Won this quite easily in the Suzuki SX4 Rally Car, AI was really slow in the middle part of the lap for whatever reason. Not a fan of dirt/snow in GT6, always feels like there's some magic force that stops the car sliding properly. Wish they'd make it more realistic or just give up with it because at the moment it feels like low grip tarmac. Maybe I'm expecting a lot for it to feel like RBR but that's got the best dirt driving physics around.

Does anyone have a tune for the Suzuki SX4? My best finish so far is 6th.:banghead: I did find that driving in the grass and staying off of the dirt does really help. I've never been a drifter and it appears that on both you need to be able to. I am having a very hard time with one. I don't seem to be able to drive in the dirt or snow so I need all the help I can get. Thank you in advance .

Best combo I have come up with was the quattro S1 Rally car Anniversary edition. I applied tune by @praiano63 which was excellent. 👍 Only left the gearbox as it was and lowered top speed to 180 km/h and then power limited to 500PP.

Managed 5:48 total with a fast lap of 1:41 with this setup. Should be easy gold if anyone is still struggling with the event. Just remember to drive in the corners as wide as the invisible barriers allow. Brake in straight line, turn in sharp and powerslide round the corners.

Expert level DIRT trial eh...
Something must have gone wrong in the translation.
In Flemish (dutch) it said DRIFT trial expert level.
So I did not even bother to take a look.

Found out what it was really all about in this seasonal topic.

OK !!!

Took the first car in my garage: Audi Quattro S1 (so she could warm up a bit after the snow seasonal) and won the first try by 3" over her sibling.
Great fun 👍

Early tapping braking, so the wheel don't lock. Don't rev to the redline (- 1000rpm). Any tune can win. LSD acceleration about 8/22/8 both. Put 60-80 kg ballast at the front (-50) if you like late braking. Don't worry about the weight . Lesser wheel spin will make you changing gear quicker...

Just did first run in the SX4, standard and messy lap with max speed turned down to 118 mph 2nd and 6:17

Sight tune by adding 60Kg + 50 to give 50/50 weight distribution and changed diff to 40/60 gave 6:05 including hitting invisible barrier.

Suss Diff
160mm 160mm 8 8
5.39 5.19 30 20
3 3 8 8
3 3
2 2
0 0
-0.10 +0.20

Low turbo to lower the torque and 88.8% limited.

Use the grass, I like to put the front on the grass and rear on the gravel.
The key is to get through the gears so less spin and only apply full power when you facing straight.

I'm naff at Rally and I'm sure other people could reduce the time and improve the tune but a win is a win.

I like Rally cars, so I've tried this challenge with several stock ones, just modifying the hp, but I'm eager to check out your tune tonight. Thanks for posting it.

If you want a bit of a challenge, try the RX-7 Spirit R '02, and see how well you can do. I'm sure a good number of you all could gold it with that RWD car, I only managed 2nd, albeit with a road-oriented setup.

Does anyone have a good tune for the Lancer Evo X Rally Car for this? My best was finishing 0.2 sec behind the winner but I just can't seem to get it done right, my car is sliding all over the track. I already have full downforce and 200 kg extra weight added but it doesn't seem to help much with tire grip.

Edit - nevermind, just barely got it after my post, my 1.315 kg Evo X did it. :)

I thought there would be a car reward if I got gold on all 3 29/01 events but I seem to be wrong. Or do I need to do the 22/01 events as well?

You all using four wheel drive vehicles made for crazy driving in dirt should go back to the original and best car for crazy driving on dirt ...
An orange Dodge Charger.

GT7 needs to have the General Lee (or livery editor.)

What's your setting for the charger?
I'm quicker leaving it total standard and reducing power to 75% which can't be right...
