This is definitely Mazda Furai territory right here, it loves rabbit chomping at Silverstone.

here are my two slightly differing tunes for it from previous A-spec events....

Silverstone tune....

Laguna Seca tune [works well here too]

MUCH FUN!! :D

Ditto! Gold first attempt using @nowcontrol Silverstone tune.
Unrelated to the tune, though, is my credit reward was only the 100% amount, instead of the 200% bonus that should have been awarded ( I'm at the 5 level multiplier). Has this been happening to any of you other players?

No, I just won a race and got 200% bonus.

It's been happening to me since the 700pp at Daytona event. Completely random. Quick look at the Community or even the Store (where you buy credits), and I'm back at the full sign in bonus amount.

This is the definition of trolling- having us race hypercars in our race cars. I too got the hard field first and came in second using a Calsonic R32 the first time through. After that the lead car was a Huayra, and I still had to do some unscrupulous things to get ahead of the pack- but nearly half a mil here per race? I can think of a few very fast cars that would do well here (P2 cars, anyone? ;) ), and against that FXX it would still be a challenge, for me at least.

ABS 1 only, DS3.

So for those like me who seem to constantly get stuck with FXX in the lineup...

Edit: So, I have tried a few P2 cars:

The Xytek nissan will work IF you're willing to cut corners, or have alien speed and tuning capability. My untuned version was lapping as fast as a tuned Calsonic R32, at around 1:58 a lap...not fast enough. No aids except ABS1 here.

The TS030, with its powerhouse hybrid system, works much much better here. It's still a very close race (I had SRF on as I thought it would be another bomb like the Xytek), but with some careful tuning or alien fingers, you could turn off the SRF and run some effortless 1:53/1:54's and smoke the FXX like I did... without SRF, it will again become a tough race, but easier than either of the Nissans I tried.

Edit 2: The TS030 seems to rotate better without SRF...and seems to be equally as good at beating the FXX without driver aids as with them, IF you can control the wheelspin when hybrid mode engages. It's easy to lose the hybrid power thru the wheelspin.

Thanks j4mmin42 for mentioning the Zytek, got the gold on my first try! It is a shame that the Citroen concept can't be repainted.... :grumpy: I 🤬 hate white!

Won by 12 seconds with the Zytek with some "creative" driving. After trying to retain the lead on the Beginner race, this was a lot easier. Even on a 1:59 clean (ish!) lap I was still gaining about 4-5 seconds a lap. Had the Mclaren F1 field.

Almost blew it using my Mazda RX-7 Touring Car. I had the Veyron and Huayra to contend with. It's incredible how the Veyron can pull away from you on that back straight (Hanger Straight). I thought it was a bit strange that we are told to use "race cars" against the computer field of street legal cars. But, because of the formula PD uses (hunting wabbits), I suppose they thought we'd need race cars to catch up to the supercars that have an enormous rolling start lead on us to begin the race.

EDIT: I forgot to add...At least I won a prize car that I didn't already own. I prefer not to spend the credits on make believe cars, unless I need it for an event, but I'll gladly take it for free. :D 👍

EDIT 2: Screw this freebie GT by Citroen Concept '08. I can't even paint the damn thing.

Won this with the third car I tried. HSV base model. Beat the Huyara and 2 veyrons for the gold.

Same here, the HSV gave me a comfortable win, but no FXX in the field.

With the huge number of credits on offer, I'll be grinding this race for all it's worth. I'm sure I'll meet him (and beat him) soon. :mischievous:

Since I never use VGT's (well most of us don't), tried with the Alpine VGT Race Mode. It can do it if you're REALLY aggressive and willing to cut a lot of corners.. I had a Huayra as the rabbit and I caught it at the very last corner with a huge cut...

I bet a detuned TS030 Hybrid could do even with some clean racing. Thanks for suggesting the Furai too, will try :)

Raced a stock Alpine VGT - Fairly easy race. No need to cheat with it. Managed to pass the lead Bugatti then it was just being neat and tidy for the Big payout bottle of French Bubbly and a Citroen Concept car. Imperial Stormtrooper White... my favourite paint chip.

What sort of times do the other AI lead cars manage? The Ferrari F*&X! seems to be a top contender to put a dampener on your day.

I beat it via cheating to over 9000!!! :P
Anyway I hadn't driven the circuit in two months and won with a Weider HSV-010... will win legitimately with the Furai tommorow. But I seriously think that if you get the FXX you need to restart.

This was an easy one without the FXX,
Managed to win by 3 seconds, after kinda cutting a corner on the last lap.
The best part is if you hit them they don't gain like 10hp and 30 mph where you cannot even catch them.

I beat the hell out of everyone with the same car, 10sec lead over the FXX and 25 over the Huayra, no cuts.

You don't NEED to cheat, you're just not very good at this, sorry... just like plenty of others doing the same even against the slowest rabbits. Don't know why there is no penalty for that in this one...

The Huyara I was chasing ran a 10:19 and 10:26. I know the FXX is definitely faster.

Should retry it tomorrow then :) and yes, I'm no pro driver at all xD

If people here are using driving line and suggested gear when attempting this race I suggest deviating from the line. I use those aids but don't really follow them as it's pretty slow. Some turns the game suggest to take in 3rd gear can be taken easily flat out at much higher speeds. Deviating from the suggested gear and driving lines is probably worth almost 5 seconds a lap.

I don't ever use the driving line because it's a bad crutch. Learn the track, don't just play follow the leader. As for the gear indicator, I only use it as a warning that I need to brake when I am on a track I am not familiar with. Been doing it that way since GT2.

Really, race car Vs street cars?? I was all set to use my X-Bow R after the SS R5 Seasonal... Why isn't this a race car? Anyway, I used my race-modded Z06 on this monotonous track... Meh.

Ryk

Check out this tune from @Otaliema https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/tunes/zytek-z11sh-greaves-motorsport-13.1659/

Easy 17 second win over the Enzo, was lapping 1:56-1:57's.

Edit: 4 seconds loss against the FXX, could be closer but have to drive perfect.

Yep the FXX is a beast- and the Huayra is a slightly-easier beast. All of the other lead AI cars are much easier to beat. FXX is somewhere around the low 10:00's, the Huayra is maybe 12-15 secs slower.

"Perfect" driving is not necessary as it was in the Tokyo expert challenges, and cheating isn't necessary...but I'm not above a cut corner in this video game if it's lap 5, and I've got 10 seconds to make up to win. ;) In some ways it makes it easier if you're grinding this one.

Lap times to aim for on the hard fields are 1:53-1:55, and it is doable on the DS3 with minimal aids once you have some laps in. Don't forget that they do allow SRF if you're really stuck.

Pretty easy to get those times with the Zytek, only ran with TC1, no other aids on a DS3 and ran low 52's no trouble.
