Just when I thought I had a chance to pass S. Nardi in the Giulia TZ2, along comes H. Mizuno in the Toyota 7 who puts me in the wall! If that wasn't bad enough, then J. Frances in the 2J hit me too... All but ruining my chances of overtaking S. Nardi in the Giulia TZ2!

I got my revenge later on with J. Frances by trying to ram a hole through his cheating fan on the back of his 2J!

That happened to me too so I turned around and went reverse until I hit the 2j head on :D "revenge is a dish best served with no proper damage simulation" ha :D:banghead:

That reminds me. (from GT2)
Unethical as it is... The double apex corner into the first tunnel, is a great place to put the Toyota7 in the wall.
Sometimes it goes backwards. Causes havoc for the rest. :)

i used to luv pushing cars wide there =)

Silly guys can't drive when you push their pace.

We hit lapped traffic and they went nuts.

Again, 2D is great.

This has to be one of the most stupid races I've ever done in any racing game on any platform. Cars that are >100PP higher than yours, 40+MPH faster in a straight line and completely reckless.

Finally won with a detuned Toyota 7, previous 4 attempts ended with me either being punted completely off the track or being pit moved. Either PD need to fix the AI, or just accept that they are slow and seasonals can be won easily because I've got little interest in driving against cars with such a huge advantage, and when you do catch them they just ram into you. Running old cars also annoys me as they always have modern slicks on and loads of downforce, both of which most of the pre 80's cars wouldn't have. There are a few exceptions, but seeing stuff like a 330P4 or Auto Union Streamliner cornering nearly as well as a modern GT car just looks stupid.

Rant over, at least it was on a fun track.

First time up was my 2J versus two rabbits, another 2J and a Toyota 7. Was 16 seconds back on the DS3. So if you're beating a 2J with a 2J, you are CLEARLY on a wheel. Re-entered twice and got a race with no 2J or 7, won by 9 seconds, and that was after that streamliner straight up rammed me into a wall and I went from first to fifth.

Um, no. I've beat them with my DS3 and I'm not all that great a driver. Most difficult field was a Toyota 7 and 2 2-J's. The tune can make a big difference.

I was able to gold this with a Chaparral 2D, it's quick enough to catch the Toyota 7. The grid had no 2J however, but this was the first time the 2J hasn't shown up today.

Yeah, I'm having the difficulty of running a 6:55 total and still being in 5th or 6th. Anyone else have a rather quick field?

Always loved the old school race cars, tbis one was a match made in heaven for me. First tried the Ford Mark IV; didn't go to well. Decided to bring out the 2J to grab the win. Notible points of intrest:

-Lap 2: Toyota 7 spins off track
-Lap 5: I catch the lead 2J, but brake to avoid a collision as best I can. I hit him, thenhe hits a Mario Kart speed pafch and puts 10 car lengths on me during the home straight.
-Lap 6: Catch back up to the 2J in the esses, almost clear him; knock a few fenders on our way to the finish.

Won by .052. Not my most dominant performance, but it was fun.

So, just because you can't do it with a DS3, means that nobody else can either? Sorry, but that's just not the case. After reading your post, I dusted off my DS3 and gave it a shot. It took me only two tries to get the job done with not much problem at all. Not to mention the dexterity on my right side, including my hand and fingers, is far from on par due to my recent stroke. Just because you can't do something doesn't mean it can't be done. ;)

I won after 4 tries with the 2J. I was running 1.06 - 1.07 laps and was in 2nd going into the last lap when the 2J rabbit spins out on the first curve and pass by him and win by 4 seconds. That happens to me on the last expert event twice.

This was pretty easy.

I hadn't used the 2J since the Redbull Ring seasonal when the track was first released. I clicked on tab B, and there was a 600pp tune. I have no idea what I tuned it for, or when--but it was a lousy tune. The brake bias and LSD settings were so bad that trail braking induced spinouts. Also, the transmission was geared so low that I was hitting the rev limiter halfway down the home straight.

Still, I passed the 2J "rabbit" at the beginning of lap 4, and I won by about 20 seconds. There was no Toyota 7.

Well that sucked!

Gave up trying to beat the 7, lap traffic kept blocking me. Especially the 2D.

Reloaded for an easier field.

Spent part of my day yesterday using this event to grind out 18 million credits. Love this event as I get to run my beloved 2J against other 2J's and the Toyota 7 plus its a great way to earn a lot of credits rather quickly. My record now on how far ahead I can finish in front of the other 2J is around 20 seconds. Really enjoying this one. 👍

Won easily with my detuned 2J, beating the other 2J by 11 seconds. A very fun seasonal - those fast sweeping turns are amazing in a car like this!
Going to try and be more adventurous with my car choices and try and win in some slower cars.

I enjoyed seeing a collection of classic race cars out on the track. First go was in the Shelby Cobra Daytona with both the Toyota 7 and Chappy 2J starting at the front, gained the lead starting lap 5 and won easily from there. Second go was with Auto Union, was pit maneuvered by an AI that didn't want to use it's brakes into the final hairpin, from there on ran 1:03's passing the 2J at the end of lap 4. I noticed that if you're going side by side with the AI into a long braking zone, just let them go, the idiots will brake about 50m too late and run up a half a millions worth of repair damages by acquainting themselves with one of the walls.

Easy win with the 2J and Otaliema's tune, nice Bank seasonal, will try with other classic beauties, as anyone tried it with the '67 Ford and Ferrari yet?Is ist possible to win?

Got lucky with this seasonal on the first try. Auto Union was in first and held up the 7 allowing me to catch up and pass both for the win. Finished the race with the Union still blocking the 7.

I'm able to win with the 2J with Praiano's tune that he dedicated to me out kindness. You do have to stay on the track though. Any wreck will take you out of contention. I usually pass the Toyota 7 in the final lap but it's not over from there. The Toyota 7 is faster so on straightaways you have to block him from passing and gain ground on the curves. Fun race to have for 2 weeks. Always a challenge. Haven't had an easy win yet. In GT5 Days, we'd have 5 races of this difficulty.

I managed to place 3rd with my 330 P4, problem was the slower traffic when lapping the two Giulia TZ2's kept trying to block me. I've only played this event twice but so far I'm enjoying this challenge.

At least the AI kept me guessing in this one. I kind of like the challenge.

Using a 2J I ran a 6.47.7 time and came third, 2.5 seconds behind a Toyota 7 and a 2J.

Next try ran 6.47.6 and came first, 4.5 seconds in front of a 2J and a Toyota 7. The Audi tried to pit me.

The best I can get with the 2J down the main straight is 186 mph (without drafting). The AI 2J gets 200 mph (no draft) and the AI Toyota 7 gets 195 mph (no draft). Can't figure out how they are doing it.

+1 for using the Shelby Daytona Cobra 15th Anniversary Edition. @DisabledRacer using the standard one already and I see many others have followed suit.

This is based on a Praiano tune but adjusted in several ways to reach 600pp and handle in a neutral way. The fronts smoke up badly unless the brake bias is rearward - even then have to brake straight and ease off before turning in.

As mentioned, GT2 World Championship event using this car was hugely fun. Along with the All Stars Championship, GT500 series and even some endurance events. Special Stage Route 5 against the Toyota 020 was especially close, had to slipstream it down the main straight every lap to stand a chance. /nostalgia

So here's the Praiano tune with a couple of tiny modifications:

Controls
DS3
Steering Sensitivity: 5
TCS: 4
ABS: 1

Stats
600pp
589bhp
1,078kg
78kgfm
49:51

Servicing
Oil Change [to get 5% power boost]
(Did not fit Improve Body Rigidity - AE versions are already very stiff.)

Suspension
05 90
14.30 11.20
6 6
4 5
0 0 [I removed the camber]
-0.06 0.08

Brakes
5 6 [rearward was essential to reduce stopping distances and trail brake, can also dab 20% brake mid-corner to help set up the apex this way]

Gearbox
Max. Speed: 390km/h
1: 3.150
2: 2.100
3: 1.575
4: 1.250
5: 0.993
Final: 3.090 [Default value due to v1.17 bug. Do not change before or after tuning.]

Drivetrain
Initial: 7
Accel: 9 [possibly 1 higher is faster but I prefer inside wheel slipping slightly for stability]
Brake: 7 [helps turn in and mid-corner dab]

Power
Engine Tuning: Stage 3
Supercharger [powaaah!]

Downforce
350 600 [maximum]
Ballast: 35kg
Position: +50%

I haven't quite won it clean yet but it is possible. Fun to see the AI spin off under pressure! That's been in a few seasonals now. Less fun when I spin off under pressure. That's been in every seasonal. :D
