Yeah the track really grows on you if you race it more and you get the hang of it. Before this event Autumn Ring was actually one of my least favorite tracks but I never drove it in reverse before. Maybe one of the reasons I like it so much now is also because of the MR cars, the SH tires & the 580 pp setup, I just love to throw the cars brutally over the curbstones in those zig-zag parts of the track while still being able to keep your car under control.... most of the time. :D

I totally agree with you. To me it seems like the track flows better in reverse.

Ok I was hoping the Jag would be better since it looks cooler. :) Post some times from your races as well, it could give me some extra motivation to improve mine. :P

Lotus Elise 111R '04 - Total Time - 7:47.050 PP - 525 HP - 334 :D 👍
Suzuki GSX-R/4 '01 - Total Time - 7:46.800 PP - 488 HP - 250 (Just for the hell of it) I just don't like it :yuck:
Oullim Motors - Spirra Prototype '04 - Total Time - 7:47.499 PP - 572 HP - 529 👍 (Try this one!!!) :D

I love reverse a lot but I have to give normal a try again to really compare since that feels like ages ago and I don't really remember how it went. Maybe when this event closes I'll give normal a try again. :)

I've been improving on times quite a bit, now I'm doing the event in each car at least 3 times in a row, with fast or fun cars even more. Also adding max speed from gearbox setting to the list from now on (everything else is always default). Cars in bold are updated from last time.

I tried the Tesla 3 times and improved on my previous time but I can't bothered to try to get below 8:00, each time I finished second so that means 100k credits less than winning the event. And I don't really like the car in the first place, it feels awkward driving without engine sound.

Credits are at 8,2 mill and climbing, I will get that chrome line Jag by the end of the weekend!

I'm really liking this event, especially with the Saleen and the McLaren MP4-12C. You can really be aggressive with the kerbs and still have a great lap time. The Enzo seems to have a hard time braking and cornering on the SH tires, at least for me.

Yes most of the supercars are just mediocre for this event, one of the reasons is indeed SH, another is also that it's a track without really long straights and climbing fast to a high topspeed is irrelevant. The ligher, more manouverable cars like an X-Bow or a Lotus really shine here.

If you have the cars, give it a try as well with one of these, they are madly fun for this event :

Honda NSX Type R '02
Ferrari FXX '07 or SP1 '08
Mazda RX500 '70
Ford GT40 Mark I '66, GT '05, GT '06
Lotus Elise '11 or Evora '09
McLaren F1 '94

The '05 GT is the most fun, since my aggressive driving style causes oversteer to the point of almost drifting through the corners. I still have a lot of cars to try out because I've been focusing on the Daytona seasonal the past couple of days, so my list of times is on the way.

I stand corrected on the most fun car to drive for this event. It's the Suzuki GSX-R/4 '01, with max power upgrades (except Nitrous) and stage 3 weight reduction.

Well I'm about to hit the hay, but before I do, I think that I should share my times with y'all. All of my tunes are by Praiano, except for the Cizeta, done by Ridox2JZGTE, the '05 GT, which only had racing brakes on, and the GSX-R/4, which had max power upgrades and stage 3 weight reduction. I race using a DS3 controller, because it's hard to keep a steering wheel in a tiny dorm room.

McLaren MP4-12C '10 - 7:20.276
Saleen S7 '02 - 7:24.634
Suzuki GSX-R/4 '01 - 7:26.631*
Lamborghini Diablo GT '00 - 7:26.884
Ferrari Enzo '02 - 7:28.155
RUF 3400S '00 - 7:29.056
Lamborghini Countach LP400 '74 - 7:31.417
Ford GT '05 - 7:34.760
Cizeta V16T '94 - 7:44.044

*I had a massive spin on the 4th lap and still finished this quickly.

Won with stock 458 and a lightened to real world weight and diff settings F40. A great seasonal as 1st AI is too agressive once you get close to it. Gets 10 secs faster than before. Why don't they put the same behaviour in all and make a proper race with no gaps at all and standing start to allow us some fun? IMO that AI behaviour is great to allow some proper racing. At least with stock setups.

I finally got a chance to try this again with Mark I but it was a hollow victory because Pagani wasn't there it was a Countach rabbit. Tried again with my Pagani and the Lambos was the rabbit again. When I raced with the GSX-R and Dino the Pagani was there. I feel like the Pagani was ducking me when I was in Mark I.

So I just got up and decided to give the GSX-R another go. I didn't spin and I found out that you can go nearly full throttle through the first corner. I ended up with a time of 7:16.381.

Nice time! I don't have the GSX-R since it doesn't fit in my rule to only have premium cars in my garage. :) I'm going to try the 3 Ford GT's later tonight (if I'm not too tired) since they are fun and I know I can improve those times.

You're missing out on a lot of fun rides by limiting yourself like that, you could fill up your stockyard with the standards and just bring them out one at a time when your want to use one.

Yes I know but I don't play this game that long yet and 1200 cars is a LOT to choose from. So I just start with the premium cars for now, still plenty to go since my garage is only about 180 cars.

Once you have played the game long enough, or in my case too much, you may start looking for a challenge, which is what keeps me interested in the game. If you had asked me six months ago...I never would have thought that I would end up looking forward to "trying" to win with an underpowered, Renault R5 Turbo '80 in this seasonal! It's rewarding when you end up winning with a car that shouldn't win...

I had a very close finish running my '05 Ford GT completely stock. I was able to get around the lead car at the very last turn right before the straightaway and Finish Line. It was actually a pretty exciting race. I didn't drive my Ford so expertly, but I gave it all I got which provided for a fun race!

P1 Ford GT 40 Mark 1. P2 Pagani Zonda C12. P3 Lamborghini Miura. Fast Laps 1:26.

Very nice driving as usual @skeagracing! I absolutely love the Lotus Elise 111R. I fact, I've sort of placed a moratorium on my 111R is Seasonal Event Super Laps because it's starting to feel like the Suzuki GSX-R to me. It's a car that is so dominant that I would rather drive something else that actually might be challenging to win with. Maybe... :D

With A-Spec races, however, the 111R is fair game for me. I haven't run it through this particular race yet, but I have just made a mental note to make it my very next car used in that event. This is precisely the type of course that the Lotus was born to slay. I can't wait to drive it. Of course, the AI drivers will just rubberband more quickly, but that's alright. I actually prefer close races. :) 👍

I really hate to see these end. This track has been so much fun and I have used every MR car in my garage and even went and bought 3 more. Of the 3 the only one I haven't gotten a win with is the 512 BB. I just can't get it to handle. I have a tune on it but it bogs down so bad in the tight corners that i said to heck with it and sold it. I'm going to run as many as I can before it's over. You can buy a car and all it's parts and run one race and get your credits back that is if you didn't buy a car over 100,000 credits. If so just run another one. my best car for this track has been my '98 Elise Sport 190. I can run consistent 1:24 lap times except for the first lap which is usually a 1:26 or 1:28 depending on the roadblocks. PD seems to have forgotten the penalties which I am glad of to a point.

Edit: I saw someone post about running Autumn Ring normal so I did and reverse does flow better than normal. I like the track both ways and i'm glad PD chose this one. I have a feeling that the next set are not going to be so easy but at least I can hope.I keep seeing the Lotus 111R so I went and bought one, stuck @praiano63 tune and now running 1:23 lap times. My new favorite toy.

I got a few more times done today, but not enough, since my university's baseball team had a doubleheader today. I'll have more tomorrow, but for now, here's what I've got.

KTM X-Bow R '12 - 7:20.982
Ferrari 458 Italia '09 - 7:22.859
LCC Rocket '07 - 7:23.357
KTM X-Bow Street '12 - 7:23.812
Ford GT '06 - 7:24.316
Pagani Zonda C12 '00 - 7:24.400
Ferrari 430 Scuderia '07 - 7:26.038
Ferrari 512 BB '76 - 7:45.883
Tommykaira ZZ-S '00 - 7:52.228

Edit: I should mention that even though I'm using Praiano's tunes, I didn't use the turbo on the Rocket like he suggests.

Ok I'll add just one screenshot, the one with the Cizeta V16T since I finally managed to win with it. :) I still find it by far the most difficult car to drive here, with my default setup it has very poor handling and I need to be very careful to not skid off the track. Braking into corners needs to be done very careful, heck even for straight line braking just after the start/finish it's so easy to lose control and end up off track. Plus if you do skid it feels as if the car almost comes to a complete stop and takes several seconds to get up to speed again (the X-BOW's here are completely the opposite, very good grip and fast recovery from skidding).

2015-02-15%2001.09.56.jpg

The V16T is one of the cars that makes Gran Turismo what it is to me; it is a car with so much character to it, like the Yellowbird, Stratos, S7, and other such iconic cars that are a real challenge to drive cleanly. I can totally understand you wanting to get the hang of it.
I took my 550 PP Cizeta to the race myself, hunted down fields till I got all the top rabbits lined up, and then took my beast to the fray. Didn't get as fast a time as you, but was so addictive I had to do it over and over till I had had my fix.

Yeah the track really grows on you if you race it more and you get the hang of it.

kjb
I totally agree with you. To me it seems like the track flows better in reverse.

I think so too! 👍 Way Better in Reverse :D You just flow though it ;)

I saw someone post about running Autumn Ring normal so I did and reverse does flow better than normal. I like the track both ways and i'm glad PD chose this one.

I'll add to that agreement - I really like the rhythm and flow to the Autumn Ring in reverse - in fact it can become almost a hypnotic lap; not tested yet, but I wonder if Reverse is faster than Normal. Anyone done that yet?

P1 Ford GT 40 Mark 1. P2 Pagani Zonda C12. P3 Lamborghini Miura. Fast Laps 1:26.

Super race - watched every bit of it, very professional overtakes of the leaders; liked the way you flashed by the Zonda  👍
And that last corner where you went wide but maintained control of the lead was a great finish.

I really hate to see these end. This track has been so much fun . . .

Yes, it has been, and many players are very happy about the Daytona enduro too, and sad that it has ended. PD seems to serve some tasty dishes on occasion - here's hoping the next round will bring us more juicy morsels of driving fun.

If they don't, it's all nowcontrol's fault of course. :D

Happy racing, guys!

@photonrider I did test with 3 of my best cars and my lap times were off about 2 seconds on the normal track. It may have been due to the fact that I've run reverse maybe 45+ times and I didn't do enough laps to do an accurate comaprison or scientific method of testing. You know how it goes; you get really good at a specific track but them don't drive it for months. So You just have to keep at it until you get your rhythm back.

Also I ran my fastest lap yet with the Lotus 111R a 1:22.437. This little car is a monster and soooo easy to drive. The rest of my laps except lap one were all in the 1:23's

Yeah I will hate to see this end as well, it's been a lot of fun so far, even to the point I'm forced to take it a bit slower since my knees start to hurt from using the G27's pedals so much. :( But a few cars a day shouldn't be a problem. :D

For this event I'm driving all my cars with maximum upgrades available (all tunes, flat floors, airo kits, rigidity, oil change, new paint, new rims, sometimes a spoiler if it makes the car look better) but I use the default settings for suspension, LSD & gearbox (after buying the fully customizable parts). Except if I added a spoiler I will use max downforce and for the gearbox I will only change the max speed to about 200-240 km/h since it's a track without a really long straight (I don't touch the gears themselves).

The 512 BB went through this as well and I remember I liked the car, managed to get first with it several times although it's not the easiest one to drive here. But it's such an iconic car, it's my favorite classic Ferrari and I'd never sell mine. :) Did you try to drive your 512 BB with default settings before selling it? Because most of the time a tune makes a car good for one condition but bad for another. Since I like the NSX Type R '02 so much here (best handling car I drove here with default settings) I tried an old tune with 574 HP for it but it was made for Suzuka and on SS tires. I did change gears to 210 km/h again just for this track but I went actually slower than with my basic setup and the car didn't feel nearly as good in the corners as before. So I went back to my basic tune. :)

I got a few more times done today, but not enough, since my university's baseball team had a doubleheader today. I'll have more tomorrow, but for now, here's what I've got.

Wow amazing time on the 458 Italia, funny to see it sitting between all the open wheelers. :)

Aah but you also have a tune for 550pp, I was at 580pp (default tune though). Wouldn't your times get faster if you added some of the missing power or body upgrades? Or would that mess up the tune and make things actually worse? Just wondering, I'm having both good and bad results myself if I grab a tune online and then start messing with it myself. :)

Some new times (cars in bold) from this weekend's driving (albeit with a knee that hurts a bit and hinders driving...). Times from cars without mention of the max gearbox speed are a bit outdated and could probably be improved quite easy.

I feel that a lot also depends on the grid, not so much whether or not you get the GT40 or C12 at the top, but more what the cars in position 8-11 are. They are too slow and they can be just at the wrong place at the wrong time on the first 2 laps and really hinder you for cornering. If that's the case you can always exit and reenter the event for a new grid.

With my basic and simplistic gearbox tuning both the Ford GT '05 & '06 are a bit hindered compared to the rest since I would like to set that max gearbox speed a bit lower than 240 which isn't possible this way. Ooh well.

Next up I want to redo the Ferrari SP1 & FXX again and the McLaren F1 & MP4-12C. And also drive the NSX Type R '02 a bit more since it handles so nicely and getting below 7:20 would be a fun challenge. :) It's also hands down the most fun car I've driven here but it really feels like PD has been cheating here and made this car just too good!
