A-spec Expert Level Racing Car Challenge: Nürburgring Nordschleife

AAAH, nurburgring, i can drive the track, but still keeps scaring me.
Tried the BMW Z4 GT3 mentioned in this topic, but the time difference decreased too slow, so exit, and took my 2J, i just made 1st.
AAAAAAAND done with this one.
First expert event that made me sweat again.

I tried it once last night using the Corvette Z06 LM car and finished in 7:14 and was only in 5th place. Winner was 6:50. It was the GT-R LM.

Going to be a trial and error finding the right cars matched up and AI driving a little slower

Of course, I did make a few errors that slowed me down, but I still don't think I was headed for a sub 7 minute mark.

Gotcha sucka!

A. David and me went side by side down the straight but he pulled away, then I had to draft, back and forth a couple times, side by side around the bend even, then I broke a touch later than him and got ahead for the right, left, right just before the finish. That was excellent.

E. Gross in the McLaren is fast
H. Reed in the Camaro LM is slow
H. Ritter in the Zonda LM is slow
N. Chen in the Camaro SS Touring is slow

One attempt, third in a TS030. Don't know whether to use this as an opportunity to finally learn to drive this track properly (ish) or run away to Mid-Field and have actual fun.

Argh! Was about to win this and was in a battle for second in my TS030 vs. a Citroen until he tapped me and I spun. Still managed second behind 1.5 secs to first.

Finally a good race, Shelby Daytona coupe '64 at 580pp against TS030 Hybrid . 6:59.xxx-7:00.xxx. Drafting last straight got up to 321kph to pass. could have gone faster but didn't set 5th high enough.

Finally got A. David to come play while I was in the TS030. Tried for at least 15 minutes, but it wasn't until I went down to 575pp did he show up, but they started him in P2 behind L. Vidal in the Vette. Then I went back up to 600pp.

6:19 lap time. Not bad. Held up a little.

Good thing I didn't get A. David while driving the Challenger R/T Race Car '70... I would have got crushed! Luckily, I got N. Chen in the Camaro SS Touring Car who was out for a leisurely Sunday Morning drive!

Aah nice suggestion, I bought that car yesterday after some nice grinding at the previous autumn ring reverse expert event. Will give it a try for this event as well one of the next days.

31 posts before someone mentions the 2J, some progress! c'mon guys fight the urge.

I did fight the urge, tried 20 minutes with the Z4 GT3, but when i'm 10 seconds behind at the last long straight? After 3 restarts the urge is gone.
I used the TS030 too much on my youtube, so i wanted to try something else, but ended up with what i like.

But i used the TS030 in other accounts and had a nice drive without sweat.
To be honest, the 2j with praiano tune was not the best choice for me, just got first with a 0.877sec in front of the rabbit.

O and one more thing.If i use the 2J, then i use the 2J.
And if you don't like it, then you don't like it.

Nice event!

Love the track, though having a race on it is... orz. It's easy to spin out on the grass if you misjudge passing a car because the track's so narrow.

Anyway, got 2nd first attempt against E. Gross in the TS030. 7:27 lap time. I know I'm good for 7:20 at least, so as long as I don't get A. David, I'm good.

I havent gotten it yet either with the Mazda. I ended up with A David and E Gross in the Toyota and McLaren. Theyre too fast on the straight. I couldnt catch their draft. They do a sub 6:50 together.

Whatever you do, don't mess with A. Negri in the Lambo NOMAD Diablo GT-1 '00. He can control his car sideways at 170 MPH through the grass!

Same problem here, after three restarts, i went for another car (2J or TS030)
The Z4 GT3 maybe is good for bathurst, but on his homeland Nurburg, does not keep up with the rest.

Also, if you drive slow? does that mean the rabbit(s) also drive slower so you could catch them anyway.
I remember that this happened often on Nurburg.Fast car and i had to overtake the rabbit on the last long straight.
Slower car and easy driving and i could overtake the rabbit before the last long straight.
I wonder.I won't try it, i don't like Nurburg, It's my nemesis.
