Same here ! I used the Lexus LFA Nurburgring package `12 and finished 3rd, 4th and 6th.

I have to admit, it took me a few tries, and I new it is achievable with the right rabbit. Actually, I am a bit proud about the outcome of the expert challenge  My beloved Volvo 240 Estate did it! :sly:

Lap times were low 1:33's on average with a low 1:32 to end the thing.. the car is fully tuned with fresh oil, which returns 467 pp.

I guess I'm the only one pondering the paint chip reward for the Intermediate race--a simple Blue Metallic, but from what? The last one--Pearl Orange--appeared to have been from the Light Car Company Rocket '07, and I came by that thanks to the shockingly rare occurrence of such a color name in the dealerships. The same Light Car Company Rocket '07 is available in the current Blue Metallic, as well as a wide array of other cars that run the performance and configuration gamut, but perhaps more appropriately given the race parameters and potential opponents, also appears in the Tommykaira dealership available on both the ZZ-S and, wait for it, the Tommykaira ZZII.

:sly:

(Anyone up for running some comparisons?)

I just shut off the PS3 TexRex, but a good test if someone is so inclined would be to buy one of those cars you mentioned in blue metallic and then run the event and get the prize. If you don't then have two chips named blue metallic then that's where it came from. I can test this myself but it wouldn't be until tomorrow night.

EDIT: I forgot to mention backing up the save beforehand would be a good idea so you can retry with another car. 👍

Very easy races again. At least got to drive cars that I haven't yet used in the intermediate and expert races. Turned out to be very fun rides, especially the Acura.

B: Honda Civic Type R (EK) '98
I: Acura DN-X '02
E: Callaway C12 '03

Can someone please post a pic of a car painted in the yellow fluorescent? Currently without an internet connection at home so can't see it yet and would like to know how well suited it would be to match the ecell SLS...

Beginner: Civic EK '98 (don't have lap times didn't save the replay)...
Intermediate: S206 NBR Challenge Package '12 (using Sports Medium tyres) average lap time: 1:37 - 1:38, total time: 8:44
Expert: 135i Coupe '07 average lap time: 1:32, total time: 8:29

@gdmnd: that's so totally awesome to win using a CV Type A '54! Just for laughs, have you tried installing a tail on that car?

Sorry for the delayed reply! Yes, I have tried, but that was a no go... It was good fun anyway :-)

No image but I can tell you it's too green...I'll see if I can snap a decent shot though.

I recommend Champion Yellow 4 from the Suzuki Swift Sport '05, and the nice thing about it...it's cheap!

Thanks. Did manage to get a relatively cheap one that looks very similar to your photo but don't think it was off a Suzuki.

Coincident yeah?? This can't be real right?? And are you using no tune (except max PP), no aid (except ABS 1)?
Even though I run on different cars, I have very similar lap times like yours lol!!!
Beginner: Subaru BRZ 12: forgot lap times but easy win.
Intermediate: Lancer Evolution 07: 1:38-1:39 average.
Expert: I forgot the car but it is not BMW 135i. 1:31-1:33 average.

It looks that way, FSportIS. I generally turn off all aids when driving (with the exception of ABS 1). I'll only turn on TCS for high-powered, high torque cars (such as LMP cars and F1 cars), as the wheel spin is too much to control. I also tune cars for these challenges so they perform to how I drive. Below are a couple of tunes:

Subaru S206 NBR Challenge Package '12 (479PP)
Sports medium tyres
Brake balance (Front/Rear): 5/5
Ride height (Front/Rear): 95/95
Spring rate (Front/Rear): 7.70/10.00
Dampers compression (Front/Rear): 3/3
Dampers extension (Front/Rear): 5/5
Anti-roll bars (Front/Rear): 3/3
Camber (Front/Rear): 0.5/1.0
Toe Angle (Front/Rear): 0.00/0.10
LSD initial torque (Front/Rear): 10/10
LSD acceleration sensitivity (Front/Rear): 20/20
Braking sensitivity (Front/Rear): 15/15
Front/Rear torque split: 45/55
Weight reduction - stage 1, twin plate clutch, carbon drive shaft

BMW 135i Coupe '07 (497PP)
Sports soft tyres
Brake balance (Front/Rear): 4/4
Ride height (Front/Rear): 95/95
Spring rate (Front/Rear): 6.75/10.20
Dampers compression (Front/Rear): 3/3
Dampers extension (Front/Rear): 5/5
Anti-roll bars (Front/Rear): 3/3
Camber (Front/Rear): 0.5/1.5
Toe Angle (Front/Rear): 0.00/0.10
LSD initial torque (Front/Rear): --/8
LSD acceleration sensitivity (Front/Rear): --/20
Braking sensitivity (Front/Rear): --/10
Weight reduction - stage 3, twin plate clutch, carbon drive shaft
Power upgrades: sports computer, sports catalytic converter, intake tuning

So far, I'm really liking the Motegi Ring (east variation) expert challenge. I've completed it with about seven different cars: 135i Coupe, S2000 '06, RX-7 Spirit R '02, RX-8 Type S '07, Fairlady 240ZG '71, AE86 '83, BRZ S '12. I'll try with a Supra RZ '97, but have not been able to get in first yet...

Had some fun now! Not as much as I thought, but still good. The beginner is a bit too slow, I agree 3L would be better.

Running 52s in a 0PP tune Civic with CS in this one but plenty of other cars to try! Abarth 500 and Celica next up. Used the Fit RS too that was pretty good, can't remember my times as it was the first one I did. Ran an Accord Euro that was horrific to drive, tune needed there..

Nürburgring GP_D600.jpg

Apricot Hill is one of my fav original courses so I enjoyed this. 4WD not my favourite but I'll live.. So far have been through the Skylines, an Imprezza or two and the Evo X.

Apricot Hill Raceway 600.jpg

The Motegi course is a bit point and squirt for me so makes for more of a challenge. Plus it's meant to be expert ;) Only done two runs, Corvette on SS running 33s, although also used an M3 on SM and went faster.. guess the Vette's not up to much! Probably spend a bit more time on this one once my login bonus is back to full.

Twin Ring Motegi East Course 600.jpg

So far done the beginner level the most, cars are fun and I like the course. Wish it was a little faster :gtpflag:

@et_
Okay, i tested the Ford RS2000 on 4WD event, only tire change, i got a new favorite car, 1st in lap 3, only changed tires.
Want to have fun? Ford RS2000 stock, change tires and go, great little 4WD car...

^This^ But leave the tyres. (Sports hard) Sports softs just ruin the handling. What it does need is a close ratio 5 speed box. The standard box is rubbish, especially 4th to 5th.

Great handling car! 👍

Regarding that Blue Metallic paint chip from Intermediate; I created a quickie secondary account (I'll use it again if this proves common practice) and determined it, like the Pearl Orange from some time ago, is indeed from the Light Car Company Rocket '07 and not the Tommykaira that I so wanted them to be clever enough to offer given the race restrictions. However, I do hope they don't keep offering prizes that are otherwise easily obtained when I'm still missing Matte Blue as well as others.

Yeah I believe only two with that exact name, a few more Orange Pearl chips as I recall. The LCC Rocket '07 was determined based on the color thumbnail shown in the event briefing back when the event was open. The car is new to the series, if I understand correctly, and in light of the more recent Blue Metallic, I'm only reassured that I was correct at the time in saying that the first was indeed from the Rocket.
