So me and a few friends race 405 pp cars a lot. I like the '93 Honda Civic. It's tweaked to simulate my real Civic I used to Autocross with. Yeah well, how about a first place at the Intermediate race at Trial Mountain with it?

405 pp. Yep.

I dare ya to try.
I know it doesn't meet your challenge requirements, but fully loaded @ 510 pp this car is a beast and fun to drive 👍

In the expert race I managed a 3rd with a full blown Scirocco and 4th with a full blown '93 Civic.
How have you Guys and Gals fared? :)

Ditto. 👍
My best was 3rd with Scirocco R '10 and the 86 GT '12:D

Beginner: Subaru BRZ 12, Mustang Boss 302. running in the average 44.xxx to have Silver :( This is actually hardest beginner race for me so far lol.

Intermediate: 1st trial 1st win with BMW M5 with Priaino's tune.

Expert: Stock Mclarin MP4 running at 1:44-1:46 lap times to finish 3rd.
Fully upgraded Mclarin MP4 running at 1:41-1:42 lap times to finish 2nd.

ABS-1 is the only aid.

Please share lap times guys!!!

People underestimate the beginner races sometimes I think. Also it's such a short race to catch up in. Like you I couldn't win in a stock Boss or Alfa 8C.

In the end I added a turbo to the Alfa 8C and then downgraded back to 500pp. The extra acceleration even after the downgrade got me the win.

Haven't tried doing it with the Boss but may be worth trying the same thing.

Sorry, can't remember lap times for this.

This morning I was able to manage the beginner race with the Honda Civic Type-R '04 at 433pp. It took 3 tries, but it was good fun to do.

Ha, expert was easy peasy.
I have had enough from Polyphony always putting the Huayra as leader, so a few weeks back i bought both the huayra's
First i selected the nissan 2020 VGT, i see the huayra '11 as leader........💡 PING!!
...have I mentioned recently that I love this site? :D

Didn't occur to me to run the same car as the rabbit. Ran the Huayra and won easily.

Cheers to Jordan, dddsprayshop, and the entire GTPlanet community! :)

Thank you for mentioning me.
How did you like the Handling of the huayra? Besides lots of power, it handled great.
I first thought it would be icky like the Veyron on the S-5 hotlap, but nope.

Good that you quoted that part.
i also tried the Nissan 2020 VGT as i first wanted, You can use the K.E.R.S. system AND with the nitro button in this event.
Also a nice car to run that event. It is like that car was build for TOKIO R246.

After the Mercedes AMG VGT ( the 1st one) this is the 2nd VGT that i really REALLY like.

Heh. Felt that the Huayra was a wee bit squirrely, no doubt due to my lead foot. ;) I'm sure it handles a treat with proper throttle control. :)

Now that I know I can take this Seasonal with ease in the Huayra, think I'll have a go with some of the other contenders I had in mind (specifically, the Enzo, and the Nissan VGT. :) )

I love it. I call it SpecEP™ (other screen name/race class like the avatar)

93 Honda Civic Si
oil change
zero power adders (no exhaust or anything)
do everything else but the brakes and transmission
stock brakes, stock transmission
everything else done, but no power, transmission or brakes

Should be 172 hp and 405 pp

RM front tires, RS rear tires (real life set up). Yes, RM fr/RS rr

Obviously those tires aren't gonna happen at this Intermediate Seasonal, but you gotta try it.

Suspension

90/98 (height)
5.00/4.50 (spring)
5/3 (compression)
3/5 (rebound)
1/7 (bars)
1.0/0.2 (camber)
-0.05/-0.15 (toe)

LSD set to 5/20/5 to let the front end breathe a little.

Try 3 front 5 rear brakes because ABS is turned off.

Pretty dang fun. Try the Nürb Ring in it. We run a lot of cars at 405 and have a great time. 👍

Had the most fun I've had in a long time in the expert race with fully tuned Lamborghini Reventon. It was so tailhappy with default settings that I basically drifted through the entire race and ended up 1st against the Huayra. Very entertaining.

Beginner Race - I could only manage 3rd in my Spitfire at 500pp. The Motegi track is big on acceleration and the Spit just can't cut it in the 4 laps, was 3 secs behind. I won using @Johnnypenso 's Dino at 450pp - I just have to keep going back to that car.

Intermediate - I found this a good fun race. First run through with Shelby Cobra at 550pp on SH was an easy enough win. I ran a second time with the 450pp Dino on SH but took a couple of attempts as I overshot into S bend on the final lap and took off. Pretty serious rubber-banding in this one but makes for a fun race.

Expert. Tough race for me - it took me some time to get back into Tokyo as I rarely go there. First tried with my XKRS I'd used for the Matterhorn TT, but fully stoked, for a 4th place. The only non-race car near 650pp in my garage was the Aston VGT - actually good fun once you get used to the 4WD. Took me 3 or 4 attempts and a couple of restarts to get the win.

I have won the expert with the Scirocco, you have to pass the Huayra in turns 8 and 9 on lap 5 to have a clean win, before turn 12 to have a "blocking" win.
I willl have to try the civic but I'm first going to try a stock Muira, finished 4th with the Honda Odyssey, but it is hopelessly outclassed.
I managed to get a 2nd place with the Scirocco but still can't get within 12 seconds of the Huayra, will have to work on my lines a bit more to have any chance of winning with the pocket rockets at 50 - 100 less PP :) Well done on winning with the Scirocco , thats some mighty fine driving 👍

Are you using the flat floor? I'm not sure what the top speed on the long straight would be with it, before turn 1 without draft you can get over 170mph without the flat floor. First lap is high 1:46 and 1:42's after that, 1:41's if you catch the draft on the straight.

Pinky girl, I have the exact time using Mclarin MP4 @ 650 PP but I always end up at 2nd place. Would you try a Mclarin MP4 with stock (no power upgrade, only weight reduction) and then try it again with fully max out power @650 PP. No tune. Please let me know your lap time. Please include a replay with interior view if you can.

Those are pretty much the times that you need to win the expert race. I had to do consistent 1:42s with my M3 GTR to win it. It's not easy, but it's doable. @WhoosierGirl is one of the fastest drivers on every TT.

Edit: Just won against the Huayra in stock MP4-12C. I was doing low 1:41s the entire race. It's all about how consistent your laps are.

No I don't use flat floor, I think my tune isn't quite right. I'm using Bowties LSD,trans and suspension, My first lap is 1:49 and 1:46xx after that , so Im losing a lot of time with the excessive wheel spin I'm getting. :scared:
But I am usually a couple of seconds or more behind you on TTs so that's where my main problem is.
Just not good enough that's my main problem ;) Doh, I am doing this with controller not my wheel :dopey:
Will try with my wheel on the weekend when I have more time  Should be able to make up a lot more time then

Thanks for trying. So I guess I'm not too far off the pace. I'm consistently hitting 1:42 with the slower first lap around 1:46 and consistently getting 2nd place. I ran clean lap with no corner cutting and hitting the AIs. I saw a different rabbit though, not the Huayra but something else. It is very frustrating lol.

So far the slowest 100% stock car (except for the SM tires) that I've managed to win the intermediate race with was the 2000 Daihatsu Storia X4 (364 PP); think I ran a 9:42 total time. I was able to win with the stock '83 Sprinter Tureno (359 PP) as well, but that car is much faster than its PP indicates (presumably due to its excellent handling, decent torque, and/or magical anime powers); it managed a 9:33 total time.

I've been able to catch up to the leader with several 34x and lower PP cars, but if you can't get past him before the tunnel on the last lap, you're done; you'll end up close enough to make him remember he has a gas pedal and he'll take off running down the backstretch and pull ahead by a few seconds, and those low-power cars just don't have the oomph to close the gap, so he'll end up finishing a second or two ahead.

This being my first post, I'd like to say hello to everyone in the GTPlanet community. I'd also like to share some of my results for the Expert race on Tokyo Route 246:

- completed this fun and fast track with a variety of cars; so far, have won with a Ford GT '05, Tommy Kaira ZZII, R8 5.2 FSI Quattro '09 and a Viper SRT10 ACR '08
- easiest car to win the race with would be the Ford GT and Tommy Kaira ZZII. Most difficult is the Viper SRT10 ACR '08 (most likely due to the flat floor installed on the car). I think it adds PP to the car. I'll try and confirm...
- I didn't think of trying out the McLaren MP4-12C or the Pagani Huayra. I'll give both of those cars a shot and see how they fare. I also want to try out the Ferrari 458 Italia. Love the styling on that car...

Winning lap times:
Ford GT - 9 minutes, 15 seconds
Tommy Kaira ZZII - 9 minutes, 16 seconds
Audi R8 FSI Quattro '09 - 9 minutes, 20 seconds
Viper SRT10 ACR '08 - 9 minutes, 28 seconds

Welcome! Good job on getting the expert race wins.

The beginner race is pretty easy. You just can't make any mistakes.

I've been using Oullim Spirra with Praiano's tune and it's a real blast to drive.

You always seem to have the line-up without a Huarya or Speed 12, those cars you are against are all sub 600pp, is there a reason for that, are the Pagani and TVR just too difficult for you to beat?

How many times do you have to enter/exit until you get your perfect sub 600pp line-up without the faster rabbits?
