A car junkyard, with a lot of cars in it.

$448,000.00 I believe it was.

Recently bought a copy of Auto Bild Klassik and while my german is very poor I think that this is a group of around 300 cars that were for some reason taken by the police from their owner 20 years ago.
Or something like that
But recently a relative has reclaimed the cars and around 100 have been sold already... maybe. I don't know.

There's more great pictures in the magazine, but sadly they're not online. :(

I guess that company at one time did 4-cylinder conversions into the Ro 80, hence all the rotaries laying on the ground. Info is in the link.

W-w-why? I have never heard of it, but seriously? It's got to be a 1-off. I really hope it isn't crushed, & is instead restored and put in the Shelby or Chrysler museum.

It was found within the past few weeks so, no, it hasn't been restored.

Huh, learned something new. :D Few questions come to mind, like; Who would scrap it? Did they not know what they had? ect.

Someone please ban me from looking things up on Craigslist. Found a Datsun 510 wagon for $500! Ugh! I'd love to buy it, but I have the Toyota Crown, which is probably rarer, but my obsession with wagons stings me.

Would post in rare sales, but I suppose it wouldn't really be that "rare"? The thing is driving me mad, I want it so bad, but having already spent my money... Just....🤬

You really need to stay away from Craigslist, Medigo.

Seriously though, I love that. If I didn't have my Beetle and I had the opportunity to buy that Datsun down here, I'd be all over it.

I really do need to stay FAR away from craigslist. Already got in enough trouble with my parents after buying the Crown. Why can't I just have the money for as many cars as I want already! Although...what happens if I buy it and keep it while I try to get one of the projects running. Keep working, and then work on the other project once I finish one...

If I can't buy it, I'll do my best to see if one of my friends or one of their friends can buy it. Seriously want to see that thing...run! It's about an hour away from where I live. So I'd love to see it closer to home and stopping by the import meets that we have.

^
That Datsun is awesome. I would buy that if it was closer to me and if I had the money to fix it up.

Buy it, restore it, SR20 it.

The sad part is, the Datsun would have been a lot easier to build than the Crown. My friend's workshop is FULL of 240SX parts. Including a couple spare SR20s. :indiff:

Though, there are no real regrets over the Crown. :D

Your talking about a datsun with these on show, i shed a tear at these :,(

But on the up side, I started watching a UK program called Classic Car Rescue. This one was on a Porsche 911 that was in someones garden, was missing half the body work and the rest needed work, no interior or lights/grills. They got the car for 7k spent 7k on it and was valued at 22k. Not a bad profit, making me look a bit harder for an abandoed car now lol

I know a place near here with a lot of Mustangs rotting away in the back. It's getting there that's the issue.

I was finally able to get these pics:

About 97.24% of all of those are Mustangs.

As much as I don't like Mustangs, it's still painful to see such cars in such a state, specially for mexican-me, in here no fastback Mustangs were sold until 1971. I see at least 4 cars in there that would be extremely rare here, even if they are plain-jane secretary-special cars.

If it makes you guys feel any better, most of those will be either restored or used as parts cars.

You should check out Fast 'n Loud. A bunch of guys who find dusty classics and restore and flip em 👍

Those Superbirds make me cry though :(

That show is terrible, totally staged, the two guys particularly the Canadian dude are a couple of tools and their restos are very bodged. Why did they see fit to put a whale tail spoiler on that 911 when it never had one in the first place? It doesn't need one, doesn't have the power/tail happiness of a Turbo or Carrera.

They are looking at an old Aston next, or I might have missed that one...terrifying. Plenty of negative reactions in other forums such as Pistonheads if you care to check, not just my opinion!

EDIT: Sorry, that looked like I was totally raining on your parade, but if you want to try a resto have at it! You need a ton of patience and ideally expertise though, definitely look on the web, and take that Channel 5 show with a hefty pinch of salt :)
