AHHH!..you got it!!!
I was watching some replays thinking it was all looking a bit "sterile" compared to GT3 and thats why...i think a lot of the "special effects" aren't implemented in this demo.

yes, if anything, too much toned down. There are alot more rough edges on the cars and bacgrounds to my eye.

They didn't give this to 'us' at all. And in fact, I think this demo IS old. I think it's from the summer. The BMW demo is better looking, imho. But that could be a PAL vs NTSC thing. Anyway, I like it how when you chase your ghost you are in 2nd place when you're behind him and in 1st when you're in front, that's fun and useful ...

yes it's way better then games like DTM Race Driver 2 or PGR2 those games have somekind of cartoon look becouse of the 3D engine.. too smooth i guess..

I know its not for 'us'.. but it's for the Japanese.. right? it's sort of official over there..
it's not a stolen demo that never should be released, if you know what i mean..

My overall feeling of the demo is that the car graphics are not quite as good as in GT4p but the physics are light years ahead.......mebbe the extra maths have meant they've had to tone down some of the graphics effects to keep the framerate up?

oh u think ur smarter than me

my PS2 sits in LAN with my PC:

- i boot PS2 with Ridge Racer in it and press O
- on PC i start HDL_Dumb, find the ISO and install it
- when done i reboot the PS2 with Ridge Racer in it and press [] to open HD Advance and play

no need BUY anything - no need to have a modchip - no need to take out the HDD

You need original Ridge Racer unless you do some swap trick

i also thought it was complicated when i first looked at the tutorial - but when i started the thing and followed it step by step there was nothing complicated - there's a link to the exploit, open ur eyes, read what u need to click and it's all there

I think I found another replay feature with the controls By pressing LEFT or RIGHT on the d-pad, you can look left or right during the replay video.

You making me drool man! Stop it! So how's the driving with the GTR, have you got the hang of it were you can drive it without hitting anything? I can't wait to get a lmp car on the track myself. I'm very excited about the inclusion of the R8 and Speed8. Just hope pd adds more LM cars.

driving with out hiting anything on the ring?????????? that's the easy part. the hard part is becoming fast on it.
there's a HUGE difference between "clean" laps and fast ones.
if i can find something that sucks in the GT4 demo, it HAS to be the AI, it doesn't respect you at all, it sticks to the perfect driving line even if you're next to the car, meaning, it will ram you out of the track.
AI was my biggest concern since the game won't feature online racing, and my fears just came true... AI sucks. big time.
