First, I don't think it was a powerslide because the traction control wouldn't let you do that,.. but that doesn't really matter actually, you should stop whining about whether it's drifting or sliding, the guy did a fourwheeled slide. I don't think it's very wrong too call it a drift although there's no throttle used. Still, isn't really the problem, to me the slip angles are too big to recover with such a car. Maybe it's because the demo is dumbed down with "UNREALISTIC" assists, assists that wouldn't help you in real life if you tried drifting a proper racing car.
But he couldn't do the same thing in real life as what he did in the demo even if he had assists that exist in reallife.
Maybe in the final version we'll get improved simtyres which are less forgiving but the video just scared me. :)
But ehh, correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to think that sliding at big angles is possible in any car? Nomatter if it's a FIA GT, F1 or a Falken GTR? Well, if you really think like that, i'll just stop talking to you. 👍
Oh and I watched the video 5 times probably. :)

JUST STFU, I want GT4 to be the absolute best, why wouldn't I? I want to drive 700+ cars on 50+ tracks with incredible physics and AI. I've never said anything about GT4 being less realistic than Forza or whatever. I HAVEN'T EVEN SAID IT'S LESS REALISTIC THAN GTR. You know why? BECAUSE GT4 IS NOT RELEASED YET. I'm just looking at all the details in GT4 and as I said, I want GT4 to be the best.. So if I see some unrealistic tyrephysics or whatever I get afraid it's gonna be like that in the final game. And I'd rather have GT4 than Forza atm. ;/

Pak don't worry about GT4 it is pretty good. As for the Falken, I don't think it is a full fledged race car...more like a heavily tuned R34. Also it only lets you race w/ the GT race tires...different compound tires would be a different story.

Why is it so important to have a precice quarter-mile drag as opposed to an even 400 meters? Does it really make that much of a difference?

You mean it only has the option 'RACE TIRES'? That would explain alot, in GT4 Prologue al tires except road tires were very unrealistic. I really hope it's because of these tires in combination with some assist to dumb down the demo. There almost no setup options right? It would make sense if they made the demo easy for the public and include real simtires in the full game. :)

With the 4 street cars, you can choose from Street, Sport, or Arcade tires, and with the Falken Skyline, you can only choose Race Tires. You can turn ASM on or off with all 5 cars, but TCS cannot be turned off on any of them.

A mile is 1600 meters. 1/4 of that is 400 meters. Don't see anything wrong with that?
close.
a mile is 1609 meters.
from here on you can do the right math for a quarter mile.
and even if the difference between 402,3 m and 400 meters is minimal seeing people complaining about other things this might be worth to be mentioned.
i for one want accurate physics and this would also include a real quarter mile track if even needed one. :)

do not change it with a nautical mile, that´s 1852 meters.;)

ok, given the fact that a quarter mile would be 402.3m, what's wrong with the number they give, namely 0.40 km? Nothing. They could've said 4.0*10^-1 km for all you science freaks, but there just isn't anything wrong with it as the third decimal isn't given. I refer to the subject "Significance" in your Chemistry and Physics books :P.

S-Video, added a little bit of sharpness with sharpness filter (the difference is not really significant with or without) and the card has been calibrated (on contrast/brightness and chroma/luma delay).
What kind of card is it? And seriously, what are your sharpness and filter settings?

The name is long, AverMedia EZ DVD Maker Gold, but it is just a simple Philips SAA7130 chip based PCTV card without a tuner.

Sharpness filter at 90 (default 128).

I wish my FireWire DV converter gave me output that good. PhotoMode renders don't look as good after being captured, as opposed to on the TV =/

In all of the GT games up to this point, the US versions have not had an actual 1/4 mile drag race. Kaz is a perfectionist (as we can all tell by all of the delays thus far) and PD have modelled tracks such as the Ring to within 15mm of the actual track. Why wouldn't a US based drag track be an actual 1/4 mile? This isn't fitting with the accuracy that PD seems to be going for. It is true that it is pretty close and the game has not been released yet, but if the track is slightly shorter then the times will be slightly quicker and not as accurate because of this.

Ok, here is a scan that may be of use. Over to you Akira…
I will upload each page if there is sufficient interest.

I know I´m a little late on this thread, but I just got my demo today. It´s amazing! The difference in the handling between Prologue and this one is huge. More than I expected, and this with traction controls on. I´m totally amazed, specially with Nurburgring. You can lose control of the car very easily, I´m getting totally pwned until now. I got to practice some more. Too bad about the time limit, cause you don´t even get to do a full lap in Nordshleiffe. But I ran backwards a couple of times, just to test that long straight. I´ve got to 292Km/h in the Skyline R32, and the most amazing part was when I tried to brake. I totally lost control of the car, and I was in a straight line!!! This game is awesome, can´t wait to play the full version.

Yes yes!! very much interest.

Thanks Samberto 👍

Cheers

I'm recreating these pages in Photoshop, so we can have an English version of the booklet too, :).

looking forward to that ALPHA :)

You know, it's gonna be funny if they release the demo here, and it also contains that book, in English. :)

But these will do, just in case. ;)

WTF? I didn't know there were replays of HK and Capri on the demo. How do you access them? Just leave the PS2 sitting in the menu screen for a while???
It was mentioned in the previous posts in this thread :) Somewhere around when the first pics were posted

Whoops! :boggled: I'd been away for a couple of weeks. By the time I got back this thread was 20+pages. Must have skipped through it and missed it.
