Yes you will need all the aero packages, I'll update the OP to say so. Bathurst is exactly what i was thinking about when i decided to stage the enduro at trial mountain lol.

Just try it in reverse bud, you'll love it, its like as close to the real track as possible as any track has ever been lol

I'll ask what everyone would prefer at the test day, it'll more than likely end up on the reverse track, but I'll ask everyone just to make sure everyone is happy :)

I think so, I can't remember if frutti is a kiwi or aussie. I'm pretty sure he's aussie but I just can't quite remember.

Cool, do you want to make a 458 team for the series boycey? I could paint my car the same colour as yours or you could paint yours the same as mine or we could paint them a whole new colour?

Sounds great Mij,

Thought: No numbers on road cars, so how about I stick on green rims, and you stick on red/chrome rims. And we need a team name now also... Hmmmm?

Team 458
MijBoyce Racing
Flat Out Racing
Up Front Racing
Str8 H8 458's
Team Apex
Rari Boys
Fly By Racing
Tight Line Racing
Screaming 458's
Red Line Racing
Team Red Line
On The Limit Racing
Nothing Left Racing
Valve Bouncers
Full Throttle Racing
Flat Out Racing
Tyre Fryers

Your turn Mij...

The rim colour idea sounds good, or we could have the same colour cars with different rims on them. I don't mind either way.

For the team name, you choose between Maranello Motorsport, Team Apex, Team 458 and Red Line Racing. I'd be happy with any of those names.

Red Line Racing was my pic before your reply...

Red Line Racing it is.

I love my paint... You wanna do green rims with my paint colour?

Should we do a couple of points also for the teams Mij?

Ides jtv?

If there's a full list, teams or manufacturer point will work best. I don't really get into the team aspect so much, however it can't hurt at all. I'll quite happily share my copied tune with another Lambo driver :D

The teams will just be on a manufacturer basis but come up with a team name anyway so it sounds a bit more interesting. The Teams/Manufacturer Championship will use the same point system as the Drivers Championship.

How about I paint my 458 the same as yours boycey, but I'll paint my rims black and you could leave your rims or paint them white?

I'm about to sign in on PSN, so I'll have a testing/racing lobby open and we can talk in more detail there>

My Murcielago is DK Gunmetal mettalic(almost black) and was thinking of Black Bull Racing :D

No problems, I'll get the next person who joins in a lambo to paint it that colour and use that team name.

Is matt_groves1 one of the people you invited boycey?

Hey Mij,

I think we are getting the 600pp, or the Championship set up wrong, I'm not sure?

What's the go with practice tonight? Time? Place?

Can we have an open discussion on the Championship set up?

I think that the people we have, Mainly Cactass, Red, and Jtv are better qualified at getting the cars equal and penalizing winners to be slowed up for closer racing.

I am worried the 458 is to quick at 600pp and it may be unfair to the others.

Good afternoon Gentlemen,

Been doing some tuning today. I am trying to work out, and help out in what is the best way to set the changing Aus/Nz Championship. (Low numbers with not much commitment from drivers) BUT, this is not my call, so we should all have an opinion, the call is up to Mij.

Red felt the original set up was better, and pulled out due to pp changes, BUT, after a chat, and a test out today, He may now agree with 600pp also.

So:Maybe 600pp is correct, easy way of running of the Championship, and interesting and well planed tyre strategy is all it'll take to win races.

Sorry to be a pain guys, but I've had ALOT of offline messages from people wanting to fill spots if the final regs work out equal for all cars.

Reds now back in if a spots is available, and will be at practice at 8pm tonight... He'll need an Audi to stay interested, so perhaps we can open up some more Audi spots. (Talk at 8pm in Mij's lounge)

My personal opinion of the cars at 600pp is
1st The Audi is best
2nd The 458 and SLS are equal in 2nd spot
3rd The FordGT and Lamborghini a close 3rd

1. Audi eats fronts
2. 458/SLS eat rears
3. FordGT and Lamborghini feel great to drive, tyre wear is best in them, they are a little slower, but with wear on, they could be the best choice for a championship with tyre strategy.

Conclusion: Lets work out how to run this so it is Fair, Fun, Simple and Interesting for most people to join the series, maybe adding weight to fast drivers or something if after a few races it seems bias.

Hope to see you all tonight to voice your opinions before Race1 of the championship.

Thanks Gentlemen,
Boycey

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT CHANGES MADE TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The series is now one make(Citroen GT Race Car).
If anyone wants to exit the championship they may, but I highly recommend you don't. The Citroen GT race car is great for one make races and I promise you will all enjoy it if you stay.

I hope to see you all tonight in my private lobby for the mandatory test at 8PM

Well I guess its tue, if you fart when the wind changes your world changes, I'm still up for it though when I get my act together

Hi mij2003,
My mate Cactus - put me onto your series.
If there is still a spot free, I'm keen to sign up. If not happy to go wild card also.
Cheers,
Jas

Good morning gentlemen,

Looks like we now may just have a serious series about to start this Saturday. AWESOME!

I have been thinking... ... ... ... ... ...

It is time to step up the final layout of the Aus/Nz Championship.

I will be doing a post on the thread each Saturday for what is happening that night.

Also, I have spent some time working on a penalty system to make this series a great way to spend YOUR Saturday night.

We now have some of the most well know racers on GT5 entered into this series, and I would like to make sure that it is fair, fun, interesting and exciting for ALL competitors.

A series where ANY GT5 racer (regardless of talent) can compete for the podium in each and every race, and most importantly... take out the championship.

I would like to introduce my 'PENALTY SYSTEM LAYOUT'.

Penalties?

WHY?

In my opinion, we have a rather varied level of talent in the field.

In any game, competition or championship, sometimes it is necessary to 'even up' the field. (No pink slips are on the line gents)

This makes for good times, great close racing, stand out performances and a championship lead that just keeps changing.

Sadly we do not have a penalty system in place yet, I feel this could make or break the Aus/Nz Championship.

If a penalty system is not put in place, I fear that the championship may be over by round3, with the final championship standings pretty much staying the same right the way through. This can become VERY boring for some entrants quite quickly, we could lose someone... then guess what happens... 2 or 3 are gone... 4 or 5... ... ... it is over.

So: I would like to ask you ALL to take less than 5 minutes out of your time NOW, ASAP, and simply reply to this thread (Cactass and Mij included, only I will not reply) with either:

1.YES/Penalties
or
2.NO/Penalties

If 7 of you reply with:
1.YES/Penalties
I will discuss my full 'PENALTY SYSTEM LAYOUT' with Mij and Cactass, and have it finalised and posted ASAP, well before race start Saturday.

If 7 of you reply with:
2.NO/Penalties
Forget this post altogether.

Short version:
1. Fast racers are penalised with ballast. (Added weight/kg)

Make the podium, You get ballast.

Miss the podium in your next race, it is removed.

2. Slow racers will be given an advantage. (Head start by the race clock under reverse grid)

Last place gets a head start.

After qualification, we flip the grid, stager the start by the race clock so the old FULL DAMAGE race to turn 1 is not such a problem. (Is a race won or lost on the first corner of a 40lapper?)

3. Medium racers just need to stay consistent. (Consistency is key to winning a championship)

Consistency or Strategy???

My plan is to make this the most exciting racing series on GT5, strategy WILL be everything.

A series where EVERY SINGLE point is important, each point 'could' change the championship lead, week in, week out, right to the last race.

A Saturday night race night we ALL can not wait for. (Not just turn up, or 'Rage Quit' 25 laps in)

A series that continues to Aus/Nz Championship2,3,4... who knows.

A series that people are 'racing' to be involved in.

So all YOU need to do is reply to this thread ASAP with either:

1.YES/Penalties
or
2.NO/Penalties

I will do the rest.

No other input is needed gentlemen.

Boycey

Yes, ballast is a good idea but I'm not sure about the grid(head start, reverse etc) but if we get enough yes's you, cactass and I can discuss it.

Great suggestion on the Penalties Boycey. I have to totally agree.

Speaking as one of the drivers at the lower end of the talent scale you really do want to even the playing field to some degree. Ballast and tyre handicaps worked well in ORS7 and look even better for ORS8. You want to promote strategy as well as fast, clean & close racing as much as possible.

I guess the only thing to be mindful of is the fact that you don't want to make being fast or consistently winning to be a disinsentive.

Having said this, I'm sorry to say that I'm not capable of handling the Citroen GT race car for another season, so I'm regretfully withdrawing from the Championship. I was really keen on running the original cars.

Hopefully we will get the chance to race any other time you are up for a casual race.

Good luck and all the best Gentlemen.
Cheers, Asuka
