Hey Mij, Boycey, Cactass,
It's Copernicus_WRX here (Scribbles71 was my first username - and soon it will change again to OLR-Scribbles, so please accept friend request when it arrives).
Good to have you race with us on Friday night mate. Got some
great shots of you and leewiiz having your battle late race, and lauded you with high praise in the
race review.
Was reading the regs of your Championship last night, and yourself, Boycey, and Cactass have done some great work in getting it organised.
One comment I would like to add (just my two cents) is with regard to using PP over HP/Weight restrictions as governance for parity. And it goes a little something like this .....
I honestly think you could have had the initial idea of the series with various road cars on a parity basis if you
hadn't used the PP option.
You could bring all of those cars together to similar lap times by setting a maximum horsepower limit, and minimum weight limit. All it takes is a little testing of each with their respective starting (native) parameters, and determining which of each (HP/Weight) needs to be applied to the specific car to bring them all to parity.
PP limits have too much scope for the experienced tuner to get way ahead of the competition, e.g by turning down aero, adding weight, and working more on mechanical grip, the horsepower can be significantly increased which provides an advantage to any car on any track, regardless.
...... *in Forest Gump voice* ... and that's about all I have to say about that.
Anyway, it was great to have a driver of your calibre on Friday night, and I would personally be thrilled if you decided to run with us in the future, and that goes for you too, Boycey (I know we have had many a good afternoon session in your open lounge), and anyone else who would like to. The invite is open.
There's one race remaining in the Van Gizzy GT-R TC Championship, then a two week break. In that time it will be decided what we run next, and how we run it. For more info and input/feedback if you like, you can visit
this thread.
Hope to see you over there.
