Akasaka Grand Prix -Ciro from the Giro steals 1st!

GT300's should reach about 155 mph without draft and still brake early for the first turn. I always underestimated the brakes on that thing :)

Do you guys use a DS3 or a wheel? And what wheel?
For me, I'll use the DS3 with a chance of 80%, because I don't think my G27 will be delivered until Race Day:D

Wheel- DFGT. But honestly you won't want to race anyone for at least a few days after you've got your wheel (if it's your first?). The learning curve is pretty steep.

I know for sure I'll be using a DS3. I have been offered a G27 (I think), but there's simply not really space for it in my room :)

Got news regarding the situation: he seems confident he'll get home at some point next week, which means, if the doctors agree, we should be doing it on schedule!

I agree, took me a week to get used to mine.

Okay thanks:) Looking forwrd to the race... BTW, is it soo different to driving a real car?

Yes. The things you do are the same but the way the wheel gives you the information is a lot different. Plus you don't have any of the other sensations you get when driving a real car.

Boah... tried it.. it is so different, thats unbelieveable... plus I can't get the clutch to work:/

Clutch physics are entirely wrong; I don't use it.

The G27's paddles are nice to use, I recommend them. :)

Also, turning the wheel at about 90 degrees is good for a fast lap, but 60 degrees is good for tire wear. ;)

Don't use the clutch in GT5 unless you're just messing around and having fun. In other games, for example rFactor, it is good, but GT5's is terrible.

iRacing has the best clutches of any sim I've played, by the way.

In GT5, though, it's too inconsistent.

So, last day for the 1000 bonus and just a little more than a week until the race (hopefully) begins. Who, not already signed up, will want to take the challenge?

In case things aren't good come race day, I'll try to make a deal with the other half of my parents, even if that means a certain disconnect after 5 minutes 👍

@Andrew and LancerEvo7

I got the clutch to work and I love to use it... Even if I am slower with it, it is just more fun...
but I think the car that I will drive in Akasaka (Asparadrink GT300) has sequential gearbox, so I'll use the paddles:)👍

Hey Morten, I'm in two minds on what car I'd drive, but I'd like to join this if at all possible.

You're welcome to join in, but unfortunately you were an hour too late to get the Ticket 1000 bonus :(

I'm not fussed about that Morten. As long as I get to prance around for 90 minutes with decent people, I don't need any other incentives to join. 👍

Well, in that case we're looking to fill the roster :D

Let me know when you decide on what to use 👍

I'm interested in joining could you PM me some details about car regs? I think I have an SP1 that might be perfect for this.

Ok, I think I got it.

I think I figured it out, and I think my SP1 would be right there with the SLS in terms of PP. It's a tad lighter but I believe I'm a few HP down from the SLS. I can still remove parts and add ballast if need be if not I got an F430 Scuderia with a very mild tune on it.

You can only use the regs of classes already in. Unless yours are slower, of course :)

I'll use the Ford Focus for ITCC. 276 bhp and 1200 kg... Although, looking at how I'm 0.6 off the time Andrew posted for the car, and I'm running with 17 bhp less (not considering torque, which I'll also gain as I'm breaking the car in).... this should be interesting. I want to test his claim of his series being the closely contested, put it that way...
