Be there as soon as I finish tidying up the house -- got more people coming to look at it this afternoon. Having a house on the market is a pain. :yuck:

That was great fun, cars and drivers seemed well balanced. Now I know where the limits of the RX-7 are so maybe I'll be a little better at keeping the pointy end forward next time. :cheers:
 
Thanks all, I really enjoyed racing with all of you. Mistakes were made but still there were no dull moments and I think I learned a lot about close driving. So I would say this first round was a success. Keep your eyes open for more All Japan Goodness next month! Be prepared, the cars will be mostly the same. There might be few more tracks, maybe trying out the point system...

Edit: It was my first time hosting a session... Anyone got results? I have 3 replays, one of them duel with hobbsy...
 
Well thanks to the power outs, no joy on the replays from me. But I'm pretty sure I got the rest.

Great moves getting back past me (last race at Motegi) shame about the off though, that was looking to be a good fight!
I think the RX club, were having a bigger fight with grip than the S2K's so there was a good mix out there tonight.
I think it was one of the best nights racing for me (as the performance and results go!), I didn't crash or spin so that was a real bonus too. ;)

Man, was my car that twitchy for everyone? I have to see my replay again... I did not notice anyone twitching like that in it.

Yeah, several of the cars looked twitchy to me. Didn't seem to cause any issues though.
 
I'm not in the best position in the world for online events, so I would have a slower connection than you guys.
This is probably why I see cars more twitchy than others normally would.
How bad was my car from your perspectives?

I'm thinking of running another POWER event in the next month or so, featuring the VW Sambabus.

Yeah, rechecked replay. Your car seemed bit like missing frames in between in the first race. Otherwise seemed smooth, not twitching like my car. The second race I followed you up close for multiple laps. Did not notice problems.

Could it be DS and controller sensitivity setting? I keep it at 4 so I would not make exaggerated moves. Maybe online code does not smooth it out the same way...

Might try more sensitive setting. It could help me improve my lap times as well...

I can usually tell which drivers are using a controller by the twitchiness of their car/front wheels. But the twitching I saw yesterday was different, more in the backend. None of it was an issue though. 👍
 
I'm pretty sure it's just down to the game capturing less info for your opponents.
Your own car will normally look fine, and I think (from memory) that cars that are close to you look ok, but the further a car is from yours, the less data is captured, and therefore the more twitchy looking!

Seems there are lots of activity around. Would people be interested in next round of All Japan some time soon? I could have few practices up soon and event sometime after the VW Samba is over :)

I have been thinking the next event being at Suzuka East. Tyres downgraded a notch to Comfort Medium. In my quick tests it is still nice to handle but needs little bit more finesse to handle the curves of Suzuka East. That could maybe make it more fun for such a short track.
 
This track and the fact that the tyres are downgraded to CM seems to throw the car comparison charts around a bit. I think the BRZ is least affected by the weaker tyres. It still handles like a dream :)

Did a few quick laps and got 1:01.897 in S2K '06 and only .5 slower in BRZ 1:02.493. And where I got consistent 1:02.5 - 1:02.8 with BRZ from almost the first lap I did, the times with S2K had more difference between laps.

I am actually seriously considering using BRZ for this one. I think I am no where close to the limit with that car but it is fun to drive and I like the consistency :)

edit: these were offline tests. starting server now for quick test session is someone wants to join :)

I did a few laps online with almost every car on the list.

Cars that handle well with Comfort Medium
Fairlady Z Version S '07
Mazda RX-8 S '07 1:02.4xx (could do much faster I think)
Honda S2000 '06 1:02.2xx
Subaru BRZ S '12 1:02.7xx

Cars that at least I cannot handle with Comfort Medium
Toyota Sprinter Trueno (Shigeno version) 1:04.xx
Mazda efini RX-7 Type R '91 1:04.xx
Nissan 300zx 2by2 (If someone wants challenge here is one :dunce:)

So if someone with some skill could try out some of the cars. I am still open to switching back to CS. I do not intend this to turn into drifting frenzy :boggled:

I think I borrowed AboveMe's Power -slot last time but I really want to join the Ferrari Event. Two Events back to back might be too much for me... I think I need my own slot for these events :)

How does sunday thursdays sound like? May 22nd at 10pm Britain time.
