ALMS Season V

Standings are available here. Let me know if it works.

There are tabs at the bottom that allow you to switch between the driver's points and manufacturer's points.

Seth, you did tell me, in Rolex... Don't lie. You bragged about being the only person to beat me, in the championship last season.

You brought that on, not me. No reason to discuss Rolex here, we had good races, I got the better of you. You said something about your tune to someone asking, and I said my tune won the championship, I wasn't rubbing it in your face. :dopey:

Wow. That's REALLY close as it stands for points.
Excellent work ss, that's great.

Gta only has 4 points on me and I'm probably gonna make this week.:) I think I'm gonna go up in points.

So does metalgear get any reprimand for trying to race leaders he was already a lap down from? I'm not asking for points deductions or anything, but I think a warning should be given, and if it happens again maybe a penalty.

Eh, I tried my best. I don't have all the data for the first two rounds that I would like. One was my fault, but the other was Comcast's fault.

It was very hard to tell from the lag I received in the replay, so I guess a warning is the best we can do for now to be honest. I'll place it in the notes of the Race Results for Round 4. If the problem persists, then disciplinary action may be taken.

If you are being lapped down by a vehicle in your same class, you must give way if the lapping car is obviously faster and has a passing opportunity. You are not allowed to block. Keep in mind that the lapped car does hold the right to attempt to gain the lap back if they are fast enough, but should exercise caution when attempting to do so.

The lapped car also retains the right to pick his/her racing line. They are not required to move out of the way, but to swerve to block a lapping car is not allowed.

Hmmm, stormy, I like that rule set. I'm making my own, for the W.M.A., and (in order to avoid miscommunications,) said that drivers being passed by faster cars (leaders OR faster classes) should stay to the left, while the faster traffic goes to the right.

I've had a mistake, in Rolex, where I tried to go inside, to give the passing driver room, on the straight, and the passing driver also took to the inside. Thankfully, we both chose to change directions, again, afterwards, to go in different directions. To avoid letting that happen... passing is preferred on the right hand side.

Any problems you see with that rule?

If people want to use this rule, that's fine by me. But at this time, they are not required to follow it until Gogatrs, TT13, and myself have agreed to it.

No, I'm asking if you see anything that's "missing," from my WMA rule. I mean, being the president of a sanctioning body that runs all sorts of series is a task worth doing right. And, for all of my experience with the issue, (little,) I think you've got twice as much. In that case, whom would I come to for a second opinion? :sly: Clearly, the guy with twice as much experience.

Oh, sorry about that. I misunderstood you. The rule seems to incorporate minimal miscommunication errors and incidents. It's a good rule, but should probably be polished up a little. For instance, take into account how many turns go left or right, their angle/radius, how many straights and how long, etc. Or at least that's what I would factor in, vehicle specs, etc. 👍

Or I just made no sense.

But, it needs to be general enough to fit in with everything from Karts, to Super GT, to Continental Tire... etc.

So, I want to make the rule as non-specific as possible, because what do you do, for example, at Motegi East? Turn 5 is a left hander, and turn 6 is a right hander... If you say "hold the inside," which side is the inside? Being general, and saying "left side" would create less confusion, because that always means the left side. :)

Yeah, probably keeping it as general as possible may be they best.

So, barring specific examples of corners, there's nothing you can think of to improve it? I admit, though, that you guys did run decently well with the stewarding last season, even though I was a 🤬 in the 🤬 🤬 so-and-so.

Well, it's past 2 am right now (actually almost 3 am), and I can't think of anything right now, so I'll sleep on it, re-read it in the morning, and I'll see what else may come into mind.

I knew Stormy as a steward would be a benefit to the series. Thanks taking some of your time to help keep things up to date. 👍

Lotus is def. Leaving points on the track. We should have came in first the last two races. 👎

I took power away last race. I think I was at least 20 bhp down from what the limit was. I'll need it at Indy though.

Looking ahead at Spa, I think I'll test out the 458 in anticipation for next season. 👍

I should have won the last race myself, I had the speed for it, but my controller died and allowed Anthony to pass me. On top of that, someone being lapped was trying to race me, then ultimately decided to sit out the race. It's frustrating to see someone try so hard to race against you when you're running 2 seconds faster than him and he's already a lap down, then to go on and just park his car. If you're going to park your car, why race someone you're a lap down from?

That is frustrating, although in Monaco I was running a full second slower than the rest with worse tire wear so I decided to park it out so I wouldn't cause mayhem with both LMP and GT.

You ever figure out that understeer issue? I usually just lower the accel on the LSD. But I'm trying out a new method for tuning and it seems to do the opposite. Thats why I was kind of hesitant on helping when you asked about it in the room. It all depends on the rest of your tune really. We probably wouldnt have been able to help unless we saw the whole setup.

If you stiffen the rear springs it causes some oversteer, so if understeer is the issue, try adding some oversteer to the car.

I have on my Audi, it's just softer front springs and higher rear springs, haven't tested this on my Viper yet.

I've tried that, and it worked wonders. Though my problem in Monaco wasn't initial turn in or apex, but exit. On the throttle the car's steering is useless. I'm looking into my tune to see the problem, I'll fix it Friday.

For better front end grip, softer roll bars a lower right height should be what helps. If you have trouble out of corners I usually try to put the rear toe angle @.25

It comes down to who uses DS3 and steering wheels. I hate steering wheel tunes for DS3. The toe feels weird. I run 0.00 toe all around, when using DS3 with a car that has a bit of oversteer.

So, if Seth uses DS3, and FH & ghs use steering wheels... :scared: :nervous: Don't use each other's advice.

I mean, I run a soft suspension, with an LSD that's tuned for neutral steer. It helps me keep speed on my "unique" racing lines. No one else attacks kerbs like I do. So, my tuning setups are a bit different. And, my driving style is the OPPOSITE of ghs's, so my tuning advice would NOT help ghs.

Besides, ghs beat me, finally, so I know that he's capable.

Just goes to show that each tune is really driver specific. I use positive rear toe if the car is oversteering.

That's what I said. .25 is positive toe. -.25 would be negative toe. 👍 There isn't much difference between a setup using a wheel and a ds3. I don't use anything special. I just go by the guide on the game.

But, if I had a G27, I would run a different setup. Attacking the kerbs is different with a G27... Also, being in a crash can break your wrists... :scared: So, I'd likely make the cars a bit more stable, with the G27...
