Hmm, so all Republicans are Hitler as well.

And folks wonder why ol' Cheeto won.

I don't think that's the point @andrea was trying to make.

The Great Dictator isn't a satire of Hitler. It's a satire of dictators in general, trying to highlight the absurdity of their reign, but also reducing them to childish buffoons. And here we have a childish buffoon, one with a history of making sexist and derogatory comments signing an executive order that impugns womens' rights.

Thr document Trump signed is a "global gag order". It expressly forbids American aid workers - including those from non-governmental organisations - from discussing abortion. What if an American aid worker in Jordan meets a Syrian refugee who fell pregnant after being raped by an ISIS fighter? They can't mention abortion. What if there is an American doctor working in the Congo treating a pregnant woman who, owing to complications, will be putting her life at risk if she carries the child to term? They can't mention abortion. Or what about a doctor who diagnoses an unborn child with a genetic condition that means their life will be both short and agonising? They can't mention abortion.

It's a .gif of someone who looks like Hitler being posted in response to a gag-order that Trump signed into effect, despite the fact said gag-order was created & reinstated by previous Republican Presidents.

It's beautiful to see you argue that the comparison of Trump to Hitler was now just some sort of coincidence.

I can't wait for National Day of Patriotic Devotion. I'm going to dress as Uncle Sam, carry around a bald eagle, play a game of baseball while eating apple pie that's smothered in a cheese like product.

....actually I'll probably just be disappointed I don't get any mail and the banks are closed.

You'll excuse me if I understand what Chaplin was trying to do with The Great Dictator. He might be playing Hitler, but it's a film about all the dictators then and since.

Doesn't prove that it was some sort of coincidence they chose a gif of someone portraying Hitler in response to a Trump decision
Show me a gif of a man placing a letter in an envelope and having a lackey lick the flap, and I might believe that it was a deliberate choice.

It's Hitler

So this is back in effect, seems to me the intent of The Mexico City Policy is to stop the funding of organizations outside the U.S. who promote abortion. It is anti abortion in nature but why should we promote it in foreign lands anyway?(we probably don't need to fund those organizations at all, abortion or not)

The United States does not consider abortion an acceptable element of family planning programs and will no longer contribute to those of which it is a part. …[T]he United States will no longer contribute to separate nongovernmental organizations which perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations

The Mexico City Policy is a U.S. government policy that – when in effect – has required foreign NGOs to certify that they will not “perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning” with non-U.S. funds as a condition for receiving U.S. global family planning assistance and, as of Jan. 23, 2017, any other U.S. global health assistance, including U.S. global HIV (under PEPFAR) and maternal and child health (MCH) assistance.

If you want our money, play by our rules, like giving a kid lunch money and he comes home with dime bag lol.

Julie Kirchner has been named chief of staff at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The good news is that she can only enforce laws created by congress not make her own up, so let's not go all ape about her past. It looks to me that it was a gift from Trump for her work on his campaign.

Here is how it will be presented by the left just for giggles.

I just Googled envelope licking gif to see if I could find one, I saw a lot more than I expected and they weren't licking envelopes. Google at your own risk...

Anyways, Trump gives the green light on the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines. Bring on the gas baby!!

I have a great deal of respect for domestic dependent nations and as such I need to know more. I'm guessing this has to do with fracking? if so is the practice not done in an area on their border? I think the worry is based on water sources and that needs to be correctly addressed beforehand imo to insure safeguards for those nations.

Other than that, indeed bring it on 👍

It's funny how quickly he is ditching Obama 'achievements' lol

That's not strictly speaking correct - it requires foreign NGOs (aid workers) to certify that they will not "perform or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning", otherwise funds obtained from the US will be withdrawn. Perhaps I am being overly generous in my interpretation, but that would not cover any of the above scenarios. Also, pardon the nitpicking but they can indeed still discuss/mention abortion as a family planning option, but they will run the risk of losing their funding from the US as a result.

edit: I found this to be a really good summary of the law... it would appear that the 'as a method of family planning' bit is a critical importance

Yes it had something to do with fracking. Also the fear of leaks like they had in Alabama. The pipelines argument was they didn't have the funds to maintain the line after Obama passed his bill, thus they system failures.
Don't quote me to the T. We've been bombarded with so much in the news I'm not 100% sure I'm correct.

This is all I'd ask for. Give them tangible physical safeguards before the pipe flows, give them written assurance of compensation and correction if and when needed. Simple.

Trump is no dummy, I hope he takes care of them, for those who do not know, the natives while not completely sovereign do have sovereign rights that should be protected. I'm guessing it will all work out fine, the difference between Obama and Trump is easy, one says it can't be done while the other says it needs to be done so let's figure out how.

@Touring Mars

Affirmation is nice but didn't I just post that?

I was there, this is irresponsible media. The picture on the right was at least 4 hours before the speech. By the time the speech started, all adjoining blocks were full of people trying to get in but were blocked by protesters that had chained themselves to entrances blocking spectators from getting into the main courtyard. It was an awesome event by the way!

Not that it would matter. The first black president is a way bigger event than the first orange president.

Thanks 👍

I like this part very much.
The Trump administration has also ordered a "temporary suspension" of all new business activities at the department, including issuing task orders or work assignments to EPA contractors. The orders are expected to have a significant and immediate impact on EPA activities nationwide.

The other part not so much but tbh I don't see why any of our employees should be wasting time on social media anyway, including especially Trump. What is this the circus show of politics? It should be a sweeping policy or not at all.

Because social media is a valid communication tool, it's also not wasting time on it that has been banned, or just social media.

The EPA have basically just been banned from communicating with the public in any official capacity, via any medium.

That's not a good thing.
