The fact that they put that on television tells you all you need to know about the level of good faith Trump went into it with. Vance really thought he cooked with some of those zingers he tried to ambush Zelensky with, too.
"All right. I think we’ve seen enough. What do you think, huh? This is going to be great television. I will say that. All right. We’ll see what we can do about putting it together. Thank you."

I believe those were the words Trump finished that public spectacle with... he's right in one sense, those 5 minutes will go down in history.

100% it was all premeditated to give Trump an excuse to fully cut funding to Ukarine and get out of NATO. He'll soon be saying that Zelensky isn't being cooperative and Ukraine doesn't want peace or whatever.

It was all done for a reason.

I guess the French really shouldn't have helped the Americans during the American War of Independence. France provided crucial assistance to the American colonists by supplying them with money, weapons, troops, and naval support, which played a significant role in their victory against the British, particularly through their official alliance with the Americans after the Battle of Saratoga, effectively tipping the balance of power in the war.

The POS has already started down that road.

Forget Europe abandoning the US. I think the entire world needs to. Just leave them in their own little bubble.

I guess the signs were there when America never paid the French back in and they entered in even worse financial debt that help lead to the bloodshed revolution.

Maybe thats what Trump is afraid of (though thats giving him way too much credit as a student of history when he's pulling the same mistake the UK did when Hitler wanted to invade Czechslovakia )

“the man” only stood his ground and then had to deal with an idiot about attire. SIT DOWN!

As soon as Trumpf(who thinks he’s at Caesar’s Palace playing cards) started raising his voice I knew it was over. Especially when Vance opened his trap.

But if the rest of the world cut the US out, sure the US would struggle for awhile until they figure out how to produce everything in-country that they need to survive alone, but at that point they'll have a self-sufficient country that doesn't need trade with anyone else, which fits Trump's whole "Make America Great Again" protectionism agenda.

Do we really want that?

I find it hard to process this whole thing. I couldn't even watch the whole clip because it just makes me cringe so badly. From the bits that I've seen, It just doesn't compute. Even since this sorry excuse of a human being and waste of oxygen has been in power, the s***storms have been nonstop and its only being a month and a few days and now we have this! Maybe I'm exaggerating but he was talking (or in this case shouting) about Zelensky being the cause for WW3, but I think trump might just move the needle a bit to get us there a lot quicker with this move.

Based on what trump said, they don't really need anyone one else anyway. They could and probably will produce anything they need. Seeing how things are unfolding, I'm betting that he's probably thinking if they need some finite resources that they don't have in the US, they can just go to war with another country to get it. So them being self sufficient is to be expected because they've been there before. I think the bigger issue is the influence and the impact of those massive Americans corporations that basically have a hand in just about everything in people's lives and the fact that so many infrastructure from many different countries are relying on them to function.

Thing is it would take far longer than MAGA has to actually get everything back to a level of comfort with the US isolated. Because this is the USA, we aren't content with merely surviving, nor do we grasp the concept of going without.

It would take forever for us to become that sort of self-sufficient & even then, there are resources we rely on that are not in the US.

I think part of what made Canada become our biggest trader is b/c of oil & steel minerals, but I can't say for 100% certain.

The Rolls-Royce of a ”sliding door-moment”: What if he would have aimed a couple of inches to the right (or just even 0.957 inches)… Those missing inches might have more impact on the future world than anything else during the last 80 years.

Who knew that less than 2 months into the new administration, 47 and his lapdog would defile the Oval Office with the most unedifying spectacle it has surely ever seen... and they have the sheer audacity to say that the person they invited was being disrespectful?? Absolutely disgusting.

Nah, I think you are right. US is not only giving Russia who have been killing tens of thousands of people, including women and children for three years for some extra turf a free pass for their actions but actually rewards them with recognition and business deals.

What message does this send to China who desperately want Taiwan back? Now with Trumps presidency they have the perfect time window of 4 years to take action without having to fear for any major repercussions from one of their biggest customers. Xi and Putin are both old, now is the time for them to strike. So much for Ukraine causing WWIII lol.

Initially I was not the biggest critic of Trump, I still think he is doing some stuff that was desperately needed in the US but holy smokes, his foreign politics is an absolute freak show. I don't think he has any ideas what his actions are causing beyond his goals of making business deals and getting a profit.

I think the long term effects of this kind of politics down the road is a loooot of people killed in wars over profit.

Ok, what’s at least two things Trump did that were “desperately needed”? Trade war? Dismantling the government without care? Attacking women and trans community? Ignoring constitution? Lying? Making musk president? Maybe simping for dictators?

Something something "sportsmen competing against women and the price of eggs is too damn high".

There are surprisingly few Americans in this discussion. Either everyone who voted for Trump is just now finding out that actions have consequences and is afraid of them, or those who didn't are too ashamed of what Agent Orange has done now to say anything. In any case he's winning because the people won't do a single thing about it - a carbon copy of how it works in Russia. Good job.

I have quite a few acquaintances from the US and all I can say is they have become very radical very quickly when Trump got into office, in the sense of nobody cares about Europe F-them (quite literally) and that the US needs to focus on the BRICS countries in the future, suddenly calling Zelensky all sorts of names, they completely negate that Russia started this whole crapshow etc. Those I know are quite vocal about it.

Its absolutely amazing how quickly people jump onto bandwagons and completely block out what does not fit their new narrative.

The defenders of the administration have been conspicuously quiet since the bad Ukraine takes started flooding the news.

Maybe they just choked on an overpriced egg though.

There isn't a worthless Trumper (but I repeat myself) that isn't desperate to drop and give the bitch a sucky. Not a single one.
Modern American conservatism is mental illness.

Be careful, you are going to hurt their feelings for calling them dumb, or labelling them... They don't like that apparently...

But in their eyes, they are completely free to be name calling anyone and anything they want, citing their constitutional right to freedom of speech
..

More like Freedom to be idiots and stupid...

It's amazing how the right, GOP and Maga don't see how they hold two standards ....
But I guess they are totally fine with that, because

They believe:
1) they can do anything they want, there are no rules for them
2) anyone else outside their group must be held to the strict letter of the law and that only the group 1 can judge group 2, which must be reigned in and fully controlled...

Wow the blind double standards...

Magnificent idiots trump and his Toadies and followers...

I am in the United States. trump is the ultimate stress test..at this point, let is all rot away, and we can clearly see who's doing it, let it be in the history books that trump is the worst US president ever and that this country is so far gone into lunacy and stupidity that they decided to vote for him twice .. no longer the white house, it is now an orange circus of incompetent idiots, who only thinks highly of themselves because of the fake titles they have been assigned, but they want none of the responsibilities.

It's all for show.

It's all on those who steal from the people they have the responsibility to protect.... But they don't care one but...

It doesn't matter how well dress or pretty they look, trump always be hiring these "pretty faces" but the reality is all of them are all roten like zombies from the Core and inside....

They are too stupid to see it.

Good morning Everyone
