what if we use COMPLETELY stock Ferraris? lol, except tires. Sport softs would be enough though! Ok, so most probably wouldnt go for that, but I'd do it!

In reality the GTC cars are pretty much the specs of a road car with the obvious safety modifications and other things to make them "race cars" but numberswise they are pretty close to the original car.

GTC I'd say the race transmissions, fully adjustable suspension, upgraded drivetrain and race slicks and call it a day.

I think most race organizers don't like to impose limitations on those things, because there really is no way to know if someone has a stock suspension or not.

I guess it would be easier to tell if a cars transmission was messed with, but I don't think alot of organizers want to put up with the hassle.

Read: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_F430_Challenge

So let's keep the specs as similar to that as possible and the cars should be a few seconds slower than the upgraded 458 which is exactly what we want.

So from the looks of it, they use nearly the same transmition except for an upgraded fifth, sixth, and final gear ratio.
So I think that we should say that the fixed close ratio transmission should be required.
It also says that the engine is the same, but weight has been shed. I forget the exact number, but I guess that we'll use that.

It also says a roll cage has been installed, so we'll have to make chassis reinforcement a requirement.

IDK about the rest of the upgrades. i.e. Suspension, flywheels, etc.

I say we try to make these cars as identical as possible...

EDIT: BTW, just noticed in the pic that the car doesn't seem to have any aero kits installed...

you're right, its completely stock. no wing no front splitter, nothing.. I don't know. I'm all for the car not being the strong point of the racer. Know what I'm saying? And if we're all running the same car in GTC, I want the car to be as even a possible too! Even if i get waxed by one of the other drivers. Then at least I know where I stand :sly:

And I also just remembered that we were using the F430 Scuderia.
So I just decided that we're going to change it to the regular F430 and try to get as close to the challenge car as possible...

Works for me, Either way I'll have to buy a new car! lol, But can you put it in print somewhere, to the T what the regs are, because now I, and probably a few of us, are a little lost... :ill:

I am also kind of lost lol.
I'll update it next time I get on the PS3 to check everything over.
I'm not a Ferrari expert, but has the F430 evolved at all over the years that it's been used in the F430 Challenge?

From what I can tell, it sounds like the 430 Challenge has a modified suspension and exhaust, and its transmission is permanently set in the "race conditions" mode from the original, which probably means higher acceleration. If everyone is using the same car performance-wise, it could mean that class will be extremely hotly contested each race.

I hope the GT class gets to experience something similar.

Here's what I'm going to use for the GTC class...

Ferrari F430
Required Modifications (No other modifications are allowed):
Weight Reduction Stage 3
Chassis Reinforcement
6 Speed Close Ratio Transmission
Fixed Sports Kit (Suspension)
Driver's Choice of Tires
Ballast Set To 7 KG for a Total of 1225 KG

Sounds great man! Thanks for all the organizition with it! 👍

Looking good!

Gatrs, I'm loving this setup but how can we tell? Maybe if somebody consistently laps faster times? I mean with small things that like it's not like we can just listen for the whine of a turbo or something, like a transmission is impossible to police. I love the idea but it's not very practical.

Well, I trust the driver's that are on the GTC driver list.
I've driven with them before and trust them not to cheat.
For those on the reserve list, we'll have to hope that they man up and play by the rules...

Ok. Like I said I love the rules and will abide by them faithfully to make sure the competition is super even (one of the reasons why I picked GTC)

Just make sure to update the OP with the rules. Maybe we should restrict having the reserves jump in for GTC until they race in a practice race or something.

One thing you guys have in your favor is that the Scud can be gifted, so Gatr can implement a rule where the top 3 finishers have to send the car in for technical inspection, that way it will be ensured that everyone plays by the rules!

But that doesn't stop them from just buying a new one fitting the appropriate modifications and then sending...
We could say that the current milage of the car needs to be reported before the race starts...

Why not just have them set to online? Cant you check them that way? (got no idea about this....)

Because again, they could just use a different car.

Yep that's a very good idea. Give the mileage, and color other basic stuff like that. Then you send it DIRECTLY (within 2 minutes of quitting lobby) to gogatrs for inspection. Sounds like a fairly good idea. I can't imagine anybody would want to go through all the trouble of hitting the exact mileage with another backup car and send that. If you are...you're just a loser and probably aren't good enough to win anyway :D

A turbo will have a boost gauge show up on the replay wont it? I've never paid that close of attention... But yeah, It would have to be a trust thing for everything... Unless the pp increases.. Can't say i've paid that much attention there either.:dopey:

That's it!
The PP!
Am I right? (Or rather is T_Ray right?)
Wait, but they could have tuned the suspension, or tranny, or LSD. :(
