Thanks for the replies!

It works great now. The Enzo drives much smoother then before. Best results I got so far are with the heavy SL55 on GT86 sample tune.

Awesome :D

I was trying to tame the RUF yellow bird by applying several base tunes, but wasn't successful. I tried RUF RGT, M3 GTR, and the toyota 86, but none was able to produce a good result. The RUF yellow bird was stock. Is the yellow bird too much of a challenge for inTune?
: )

Any suggestions?

I hope not :) I'll try playing around with the yellow bird when I'm back at my PS3 later today and see what I come up with. The Toyota 86 sample tune should provide good results when transferred over but I don't recall trying that combo yet. Sometimes a right foot recalibration is required with the wilder cars :)

On an unrelated topic, I got a call from Apple this morning and it sounds like they will agree to expedite the review of version 1.04. As always, I'll post here as soon as I hear any more.

GTune 1.04 has been approved and is now available in the App Store!

This release completes the standard car support and improves launch performance. iOS 4.x users are back on track with this release so update at will :)

Thanks a lot for the fast review Apple!

Thanks for the quick response. I have this idea, if we give inTune a weight that is more (or less) than the actual target car's weight, we can fine tune the intensity of the applied changes. More weight would mean more pronounced changes/effect, and vice versa.

Hopefully iOS 6 won't cause any problems. Nor the new screen size of the iPhone 5 or New iPhone, whatever they decide to call it.

I think the best way to accomplish that would be to use the inTune Spring Rate assistant to stiffen or soften the springs. The assistant will maintain the overall balance of the tune while changing the mechanical grip characteristics.

I've been testing on iOS 6 for a while now and I have yet to find an issue. I'm anxiously awaiting Apple's announcement tomorrow, especially about how existing apps will run on the rumored new resolution. I'll do whatever is necessary to make sure the app has no problem running on whatever new hardware is announced tomorrow. Should be interesting!

Great. Will try that. Thanks.

I'm sure many of you already know this, but Apple just completed the iPhone 5 announcement. As rumored, it will have a taller screen with a new resolution of 1136 x 640. Existing apps, including GTune 5, will run letterboxed on the device. That means that with the app as it currently stands you would see a narrow black bar above and below the app on an iPhone 5. This is certainly preferable to scaling the app as it will retain pixel-for-pixel parity with the current experience on an iPhone 4/4S.

So - you don't need to worry about iPhone 5 support as basically it is already present. That said, if I can think of something useful to do with the additional screen height, I will do that and submit an update. I'm open to suggestions of course. Most screens can simply be expanded to use the additional height in tables etc. The editing screens are a different matter since that content is carefully positioned and is not variable in height. I was thinking about including a Manufacturer/Model banner at the top of the editing screens but I'm not sure that's really a great use of the space. Fire away with any suggestions you might have!

Update: Make that iPhone 5 AND iPod Touch 5th generation :D

So if you make the app to have a bigger screen or a added banner etc. will that only be shown if you have a iPhone 5 or will all versions get that and be displayed weird?

Any changes like that will be made so that only the iPhone 5 and 5th gen iPod Touch will see them. All other devices will retain the current layout.

Even the iPads have the same dimensions as current iPhones?

I was really hoping for a larger screen, not a taller one! 1/4 inch on the top and bottom still isn't competitive with the primary Android phones. And no iPad mini, BOOOO. I need a larger screen, I'm legally blind.

I think iPads are different since the dimensions don't scale.

Only taller isn't bad. It will fit better in your hand and be easier to carry in your pocket. Plus it will look more like a actual wide screen when watching videos. Also lol why would you want a iPad mini if your legally blind. Just get the bigger size iPad.

Is it possible to add a few more characters to the tune's NOTE field? If I have 3 different tunes on the same car either by tires used, pp used or with/without aero used would be nice. Like,
Set A:

'#'-denotes emoji character(thumbs up or "ok" sign) or if "SET C" is from a gt5 tuner.
By the way, I was able to give the Gillet Vertigo Race Car using Sports soft and racing soft tires a great tune using this app(of course with my driving style) and they were great online and offline. Now I'm looking out for this car on different colors.
Edit:sorry for the double post, am using phone.

The new size will make it true 16:9. - Leo Leporte

Can't afford an iPad, even a wifi only has a hefty price tag. AFAIK, AT&T doesn't offer a contract discount for iPad. Every chance I get to win one, I'm entering :P. The mini should fill the gap between iPhone/iPod and iPad. Sure there are other tablets out there, but we have a household of iPhones.

Goober if you could post a screenshot of the iPad version of GTune5, that would be cool. I suspect it gave you a lot more freedom?

The app does not have an iPad-specific layout so it displays just as it does on the iPhone. It's something I might consider adding later on but I suspect most users will find it easier to handle an iPhone in front of their PS3 than they would an iPad. Like I said though, an iPad layout is not necessarily out of the question.

Just to make sure I understand you - you would like to be able to use the entire following string in the Notes field :

Set A:S1/S1_550pp#SetB:R1/R1_600pp#

Wouldn't you want to separate them into 2 tunes and just use the Notes field for each one to describe the contents? You could use the Copy function when generating a new tune from that car's Tunes list.

The problem with allowing more characters in that field is I would either have to implement it so that not all characters are viewable on the Tune's table entry, or if displaying all characters they would be so small they would become illegible.

Anyway - let me know what you think about copying the tune. I'll think some more about it and see if there is a better way.

Well, Apple strikes again I'm afraid. I'm digging further into this but as of right now it seems that if I want the app to take advantage of the iPhone 5's additional screen real estate, I would have to drop support for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd gen. Don't panic if you have one of these devices - I'm NOT going to do that.

Here's the deal. To fully support the new iPhone 5 resolution Apple requires the app be built with the latest version of Xcode (4.5). However, Xcode 4.5 does not support the chip architecture that some older devices were based on, such as iPhone 3G etc. That means any app built with the latest Xcode cannot support those devices. This is a very poor situation for Apple to put developers in and to be honest I'm finding it difficult to believe, but all my research today seems to confirm this is definitely the case.

Assuming there is no workaround, the obvious choice will be to continue with the currently supported resolutions and just accept the narrow black bars that will appear above and below the app when running on an iPhone 5. The experience will be no different than what any current iPhone 4/4S user currently sees. It's just a shame that I may not be able to take advantage of the new screen dimensions. I'll keep searching for a workaround but that's where it stands right now.

Sorry mate, didn't think about the display view would be smaller as I'm already using reading glasses:). I'll be better off with copying it as you suggested. Thanks.

Thanks mkel - I'm glad this will work for you.

I just got my iPhone 5 order placed, so I'll have one in-hand for testing at the end of next week. At least I didn't have to wait up too late this time around. The 4S ordering was a disaster.

For anyone else trying to order, if you're having trouble try the Apple Store iPhone app if you can. It was very responsive for me and the order took no time at all. Good luck!

I'm very impressed with the build quality they are touting in the iPhone 5 video.

I'm looking forward to seeing it in person, but to be honest I think I prefer the existing design of the 4/4S. Time will tell if I really find the taller screen useful but the CPU and screen quality upgrades should be nice :)

Hi All,
I just wanted to let you know that I now have the new DLC cars added to the database and version 1.05 will be submitted to Apple tomorrow. I am continuing to work on the transmission tuner and I hope to have something functional within the next 2 weeks.

Thanks for all your support, and if you haven't already done so - please add a review/rating of the app in iTunes. That will help a lot and I really appreciate it.

Brendan.
