Hello guys.

I seem to have a problem with my ClubSport pedals. Seems sometimes I play GT5 and the brake comes ON on its on. In GT5 brake gauge, its red about 1-5%. I then unplug the pedals from my GT3 RS V2 wheel and plug it back in its gone. Later it comes again. How can I fix this? Something wrong with sensitivity? I did dead-zone patch and did not help anything I went to low dead zone to medium dead zone, and nothing. What is wrong? It is very annoying, I might race and find out half of the race the brake was engaging on its own, its very annoying especially online racing.

I believe this is a fairly common occurrence but I think its a faulty board on the pedals. I would recommend searching the forums and send a ticket to Fanatec with a video included.

Did you try using brake potentiometer (decreasing sensitivity), at least untill you hear from Fanatec!?

Nothing, I will try to take apart those parts and clean them really well. Seems a bit of excess oil got there, probably when i put extra for bit smoother brake. I found a video and a guy on youtube he said he got similar problem and wrote to fanatec for new load cell. Before I write to fanatec Im going in a lil bit take the thing apart, clean everything well, see if it happens or not. 👍

Firmware upgrade (via PC) should fix it. Did for me.

I got my wheel today. Everything seems to be going good. I tried it on dirt3 on pc, forza 3 and am going to try it on gt5 when I finish updating. Once I confirm everything is working, I will start my new rig build.

I did that. Same problem. After taking it apart cleaning the parts, seems to be better, but sometimes it appears again! Ughh thing I do is press the pedal very lightly unplug the cable and plug it back in, seems its fixing it like that.

Sounds very frustrating. Hopefully you will have a good experience with Fanatec support.

I'm still waiting since December for my GT2 & CSP. Fanatec still spinning the same old excuses. In other news Fanatec will start taking your money (now) for their fancy new wheel and you could get it in 3 years.

I understand it's frustrating, the delay. But I also keep in mind these are a notch above your average common racing peripherals which are more commonly available. I wanted to try a G25 before I could get my hands on the original Fanatec 911 Turbo wheel. I just grabbed one @ Best Buy. As soon as I finally got and tried the Fanatec though, the Logitech was destined to be returned (or sold.) I suppose now if I didn't have a wheel the Thrustmaster 500 would be a similar option, but I for one can't live with such an expensive wheel not being ready for Forza 4, which looks pretty epic for a console title!

I look at it this way: if I were in the market for a sports car and wanted something I could just drop by a dealer and purchase, that may be a Corvette Z06. Quite a performer according to reviews, like the Thurstmaster T500, but limited. T500: PC or PS3 only, no possibility of ever working with the Xbox. Z06- track day maniac, easily available, and just works, but would be pretty rough as a daily driver (and of no use in the winter.)

OR, if I wanted the best of all worlds, I'd probably queue up to ORDER a Nissan GTR or an Audi R8 V10, if they can even still be had. I don't think anyone that is lacking patience (or is bothered by quirks or minor issues that need fixing which come with the cutting edge super-car territory) would be a good fit for such a car. Try dropping by a Ferrari dealer and trying to walk out today with a new 458 Italia, even if one has the means to purchase it. They'll tell you get on the list, we'll see you in 18 months if you're lucky.

Not to say Fanatec is a Ferrari (or that they shouldn't strive to improve their delivery times and reliability), but this isn't stamp it out by the tens of thousands mass production equipment here. It's everyone's choice if you want the best and most flexible and affordable gear (IMO) or something easy, quick and decent, but limited.

Ferrari hand-builds their cars and tests each one before it's delivered to it's owner... Fanatec stamps them out in China 10,000 at a time. Quite a difference!

But why are you waiting since December? I ordered in February and expect delivery today...

^^^ Ferraris are (were) not splendid quality wise. Just saying. If you look at the side scoop of the enzo it is not really what i would expect from a 600000€ car.

When did you get your CSP?

They had oil that was not perfect on the first batches. It can be that. maybe someone here knows if you require a special oil.
in the CSP tuning kit the new oil is included.

If after cleaning, firmware update,... did not change i would write to fanatec they will send you either a new PCB or a new load cell.

I also had the problem, and a problem with the shacker on the brake pedal.

I believe if you check order numbers, they have not even reached 10,000 since they started taking orders for the original wheel in 2008 or so. You are mistaken to think they make so many. Maybe Logitech, but not Fanatec, much smaller company than that I believe. I've never seen the CEO of Logitech posting YouTube videos explaining how to adjust and tweak their pedals or addressing issues on the forums directly like Thomas does either. Sure they have some QC and customer service issues to work on, we all knew that going in and hope it gets better for sure, but it's a boutique product, and if people didn't want it there would be no wait or demand.

Also, there are hand-built and more expensive sim tools, like TSW or Frex. I hear Frex is a total nightmare though to deal with despite the price, and none of those $1000+ wheels will help a lick with Forza anyway. And as for supercars, I'll quote Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear on those he's owned:
‘I’ve been down the supercar road three times, and I can assure you it’s not lined with girls and jelly. It’s a forest of pot holes, expense and dirty trousers.’

I ordered a GT2 last week as well here in the US and got my "Your order is shipping NOW" email on Monday which got my hopes up, thankfully the info from these threads tempered my excitement with the understanding that it will likely still take at least a couple of days to a week before it actually ships and I get a tracking number...

Fanatec would probably save itself some anxious customers if that email only went out once it actually ships or if they switched the NOW to SOON in that message, we are an excitable bunch anyhow :-)

It almost sounds like Fanatec has brainwashed you. :) I do own a Thrustmaster T500, in fact I own 2 of them. They are an awesome wheel. When I ordered them, they arrived when promised. I was not billed until they shipped.

Fanatec on the other hand, billed me the moment I placed my order and told me it would ship in 1 to 2 weeks (back in December) They kept feeding us excuses, new dates.

Now Fanatec is telling me they don't like me bringing this up in public forums. They tell me they have been watching me.

Look around various forums, Fanatec has a higher then normal breakdown instance. One guy has waited over a week and Fanatec will not reply on his 1 week old unusable GT2 brick.

BTW I started my gaming career in 1969 at the age of 9, I've owned pretty much every racing wheel (not the high end) on the market. I've had at one time or another every game console made, currently our household has 5 PC, 4 PS3 and 2 Xbox 360. I have almost every peripheral one could desire. So when you say I should keep waiting over 6 (six) months for a product I'm not buying it, speaking of which. I'm not buying anything from Fanatec again.

I'm sure the T500 is great if you don't mind being limited to a PC or PS3. I do. That's why I like their products, and the pricing is good IMO for the quality. Anyway, agree to disagree, I just don't understand why you're still complaining about waiting, why not cancel if you're happy with your other wheels? I cancelled one order with them once and was promptly refunded my payment. Also as others have pointed out, some have ordered just a few days ago and already gotten tracking #s, so they must be past the delay now.

Anyway, I don't work for Fanatec and am not going to find common ground with you on that it sounds like, but I'm a happy owner, and I was just pointing out plenty of people are willing to wait and deal with issues when it comes to stuff like this, as it's not the only choice out there... I'd cancel if I were you and this unhappy with their policies, but for some reason you seem to prefer to complain about it, which is your right, but doesn't seem as productive to me as just cancelling and moving on if it upsets you that much.

Here is the deal, except for a few people who ordered in December and really got screwed over, everyone went into an order on a gt2 understanding they were going to wait a while. It has always been Fanatec's policy to charge right away before shipping. While its unfortunate that this is how they run their business, it is established. If you dont like it, dont order the wheel.

I ordered my GT2 on Dec 3rd and it shipped December 14th, for the record. No issues with the wheel or CS pedals since. I feel badly for those who waited until later in December to order, but geesh, even their older PWTS wheels were in such demand they were selling on Ebay for above list price used, so everyone who is into this hobby knows as the only quality Xbox 360 wheel it's one to line up for. It's unfortunate they sold out quickly of the first batch and the delays getting this second batch caused so many to wait, but I'll bet now that wheels are arriving people will really enjoy them like I and many others do already.

^^^ This ^^^

Fanatec may well charge your card at the time of ordering; so what? You were obviously prepared to spend that money with them on the product, so what is the big deal? You haven't been robbed. You haven't been tricked. If you want to cancel, do so and guess what'll happen? That's right, you'll get a refund.

Many other companies operate in the same way. I'm not on anyone's 'side' here but it seems to me that there are plenty of people on this forum who like nothing better than to have a good ol' moan. :)

Yes, the lead times suck and yes, communication could be better but it's not exactly end-of-the-world-stuff is it? Reading some of these posts you could be mistaken for thinking that some of you were waiting for transplant organs to show up through UPS or something! (Joking btw... :))

I think the big problem with the paying before it ships system is that if the company went belly up for some reason, you would be S.O.L. The pay after it ships method gives a safety net.
