Regarding the PWTS:

Is it supposed to make a noise while being turned? I'm guessing this is the belt that is making the noise but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be silent or not. When I turn it to the right it makes a belt sound and when I turn it to the right it makes the same sound with a little click. Is this normal?

When the wheel is off I can turn it and there is very little resistance. When the wheel is on there is more resistance even with the dri setting to 5 and with ff set to off. Is the wheel supposed to have more resistance while on then when off?

The carrera wheel looks awesome but it seems like it isn't too desk/carpet friendly. I have been searching to find out how sturdy the wheel mounts to a table/desk and if the pedals will not budge on carpet but pretty much every review is done using a cockpit or stand. Anyone use this wheel or the 911 wheel (which I believe has the same pedals and the same mounting system for the wheel) without a wheelstand? If so, how well does it mount and how does it hold up on carpet? Will i NEED the wheel table clamp (sold seperatly) to mount it on a desk? I'd buy a wheelstand but I don't really need one and the desk held up really well when I had my G27. Thanks in advance

I would like to know this as well since I plan on mounting the wheel on my computer desk.

I'm about to place an order for a Carrera wheel but have a few questions.

a) can I install the pedals included in a reverse position (hanging) as with the G27?

b) is this confirmed to work 100% with PS3 fw 3.50 and beyond? There seems to be some conflicting reports.

c) i will be using it with GT5 but does it work with ModNation (my son loves this game). Anyone tried?

d) can anyone who ordered a fanatech product with delivery to U.S. inform how long time delivery took? How much was shipping? Was shipping with USPS?

Any input at all is greatly appreciated!

Erik

D = they shipped via UPS and give you the tracking numbers via a nice follow up email. It took about 8-10 days, which is very common if you check UPS for doing coast to coast USA ground rates for a wheel and pedals, which were dispatched not together but a few days apart.

Just bought a GT3 RS V2 with CS and Rennsport wheel stand. Can hardly wait. Now the wheel includes the shifter for 30$ more

I'm current using a logitech driving force wedged between my legs. This is going to be a huge upgrade for me.

question, were you able to order the new V2 Rennsport wheel stand?

1) Can I buy the 911 Turbo S wheel & Clubsport pedals as a combo to save money (here in the U.S.)? As in, deduct money from $350 for the regular pedals then add the CSP for a reduced price as a combo?

2) Does it come with medium or large paddle shifters? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm assuming out of 3 sizes (small, medium & large).

3) I don't like wireless wheels so I can use it wired on the PS3?

4) For the 911 GT3RS, how does the alcantara hold up to sweaty hands? Years ago, I had a Mugen alcantara wheel for my old Honda S2000 & while the material felt great in my hands, within a few months some parts of the alcantara wore off (specifically the 3 o'clock & 9 o'clock positions) due to my sweaty hands. I don't want this to happen again if you think it's probably best I get a leather wheel.

5) Lastly, when I makeup my mind to buy, how do I know the items I want are in-stock before I purchase?...It won't say, "Buy it now!"?

Thanks!

1) dont know, sorry

2)My GT3 came with 2 sets of paddles to attach to the buttons, small and the large (clubsport aluminium from euro store)

3) yes

4) Had mine a month, its holding up ok, feels smoother at the 3 and 9 position, but thats to be expected

5) when you look at the product in the order section, it says in bold at the top of the page.

6) go to the website :)

Beliall have you tried mounting the GT3RS on a table? How did it hold up? Is the table clamp sold by fanatec necessary??

The wheel has a built in clamp that should work just fine for most tables.

The clubsport table clamp is just a better one. It allows you to tilt the wheel to your preferred angle, and it has a much sturdier shifter mount.

Thx! So it usually comes with 1 set of paddles but you ordered the bigger CS paddles also? Only thing on the U.S. order page I see in bold are the words, "LIMITED EDITION" (PWTS webpage) & "Designed for the true simracer: No gimmicks - pure racing technology" (PWGT3RS webpage). And yes, I've been to the website, LOL! :)

1. i would have preferred the leather based 911 wheel w/ the clubsport pedals as well, instead i took the default gt3rs wheel w/ the clubsport... but i am ps3 ONLY so prob. the best match w/ their product lineup . i dont have a perspiration problem but i like the smoothness of leather.

According to their webshop there are still a few available.

[link=http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_usa/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=51&session=true]Less than 200 units availabe !!worldwide!![/link]

"manage attachments" in the "attach files" box.

;)

Does Fanatec usually send you a email confirmation on your order once your order is placed?

They didn't for me. I emailed them myself about 4 days after placing the order to see if everything was ok, and they replied saying it would be dispatched the next day.

I'm only gonna be using it for a PS3 also. I love the texture of alcantara but my damn sweaty hands might present a prob. I really don't wanna wear racing gloves everytime I use the wheel, LOL! At this point, I think I'm leaning towards the PWTS.

Ok, that makes sense. I guess I better make up my mind quickly before they sell out!

haha, racing gloves... niiiice idea if you need it! (just the idea of wearing racing gloves in the living room makes me laugh).

okay i basically dont have any driving game for my ps3... wondering if the old Need for Speed Demo for the ps3 can be played (lol) w/ the fanatec?

i doubt it but... I"m trying to set up the gt3rs wheel... 1 power plug to the right of the wheel. 1 ps2 (Green) to the right of the wheel, then connects with the clubsport pedals.

these are the only connections i've made. nothing runs from the PS3 to the wheel, is that right.

what gives the clubsport it's power source?

So I'm supposed to press the RED base button and what's called the 'select button on the wheel at the same time? at what part of the game?

Has anyone received the the GT3RS with the shifter kit from the new combo on the website?

Does the shifter kit ship in 1 box together with either the wheel or pedals, or is it a separate box?

Also, for the tuning kit, what's the expected shipping ETA, as I will be in the US only for 1 week in dec.

Thanks!

LOL, I meant I really don't wanna getta GT3RS wheel then wear racing gloves just so I can avoid the alcantara rubbing off.

From what I remember both the GT5 & NFS demo's were compatible w/a G27 so a Fanatec wheel should also work.

I would prefer it too but I'm also a PS3 only user...

Two weeks of intense playing is enough to spoil the beautiful alcantara rim :grumpy:

Is there any cleaning product recommended for this purpose:idea:?

I have never tried to mount mine on a table, its hardmounted to the wheelstand pro.

It came with CS shifter paddles as standard

If it doesnt say pre order with an estimated despatch date, its in stock.

I got an email confirmation and both my orders were despatched same day from euro store.

Anyone else try to mount the carerra wheel and shifter on a desk? I have about 1 day to decide if I want to risk getting it and saving some money or just get a g27 which is more expensive but I know that it will mount effectively

I have it on a nightstand, It will be easy getting it onto a desk becausethe shifter place where you have the rods has a slight curve and the edge of my NS fits it.
