Hi andrez, not sure how similar the clamps are with the rs to carrera. But could they clamp onto a 2 inch thick table.

Another lad here says it should, but can you confirm or comment? I'm just extremely curious cause I would hold off until the clubsport clamp becomes available if it doesn't fit.

What is the total amount including shipping for H4J 1T1 (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) ?

I just ordered a GT3 RS V2, shifters, G25 pedal adapter and a cable and the shipping was around 25$ to Nova Scotia Canada, I don't think it would be much different for Montreal.

If you think about it the angle and the height of the wheel will be determined by your seating height, how big you are, how long your arms are, where you are comfortable, and then there are friends at different heights that might wanna try. If you take a look at the Low Budget cockpit build thread you will be able to find a ton of cockpits with adjustable tilt for the wheel. That's how I'm building mine. I'm 5'8" and majority of my friends are above 6 feet... just a thought

Those are very good points man! With the desing I'm building the wheel will fit me the best at 23 inches from the base of the frame's floor... I have to take into account the angle and the heigth from the base of the wheel, to the center of the wheel in order to determine the proper angle/length/heigth of my steering tube...

On the GT3RS 2 inches is getting close to the max but I think it could work. I'm not a fan of the clamping system and With its powerful force feedback I could see it wiggling itself loose. Luckily Fanatec supplies a template for drilling holes and bolting it down.

That seems about where mine is at. I had a friend hold the wheel for me many times when making the adjustable top so I could get my "perfect angle".

Hi,
I just received my amazing GT3RS V2 wheel… to play GT5… when it’s released… for now it’s for play GT5 Prologue… but I can’t find a good setting for the wheel… as soon as I turn the wheel even smooth or just a few degrees the car (don’t matter what car!) just start to spin… I already tried different settings but without results… note that I am a game for a long time always with the D Pad… this is my first time with a wheel… but starts to get frustrating…

Can you help me?

There are tons of settings that people have posted on this site. Just search it out and you will find some. You say that you are spinning and I will take that you mean over steering. The main reasons for over steer are too much throttle, turning to sharply, too much weight shift, or a combination of those. try to find a rotation setting you like best so your not turning the wheel too far. You could be just over driving the car, which is extremely easy to do in GT5P. Find what FF setting you like so you feel whats happening. If you have been playing with the d-pad and have a good amount of time behind gt5p you should know about how far a car wan pitch/yaw before starting to spin. Just turn up the volume, slow down a little, and build up your speed slow so you can really see what you are doing wrong. Also I have been playing forever on the controller and I know I'm way faster with it, but the wheel is more fun.

How much was the total amount you paid for this ?

Thank's andrez004, I will try that!

Also, this is a good site for Fanatec wheel settings, and tips. I used the set up on here, and its the best I tried so far, However, I still dont think the wheel Is very good with GT5:P. Here's hoping that PD have been hard at work making it better for GT5.

Are you (Fanatec) going to make a little box, dongle, PCB or whatever it is called to make the CSP directly compatible (plug & play) with the Logitech G25/27 wheel unit?

If you would accomplish this, you would sell a lot more CSP's. I'd even be very interested in buying the CSP.

It is technically not possible to do that as the CSP use an advanced bi-directional digital transmission protocol and not just analog signals what the G27 can read.

But you can use the CSP with any wheel on PC. If you want the CSPs on the PS3 you need to get one of our wheels.

I am quite gutted that the Turbo S Wheel is not available any more, I should have stocked up and purchased 2 of them :nervous:

It's nice to have a back up and leave them in the loft

This is what I have at the moment.

G25 x1
G27 x1
Official M$ Wheel x2
Driving Force Pro x1

Also I am almost convinced that the G25 pedals work better with the Turbo S Wheel than the G27 pedals do, unless Thomas can verify please, maybe it's the voices in my head :yuck:
,

g27 and G25 pedals work equally good with our wheels.

Please note that the G25/g27 adapter is now included in our GT3RS wheels.

I have been thinking about purchasing a set of Clubsport pedals to use with my Turbo S Wheel.

Currently I use my G25 or G27 Pedals and they work very well with my current set up, however I am just wondering how superior are the CS pedals are over the Logitech Pedals ?

Also could somebody please post a picture of the underside of the pedals. The reason I ask is because I use the plastic holes in my Logitech Pedals to sit on 2 large bolt heads and then I rest my pedals on my TV Cabinet at an angle.

Many Thanks.

Sorry for posting this in two different threads but it might get a bit more attention here:

I have some questions about the FW update. Which button is the Base button? Is it that one on the left you have to press along with select to get in to the PS3 mode? And in step 12 those 4 lower main buttons are those which on the right side would be X,O, and on the left they would be LSB, RSB?

Thank you and sorry for dumb question

EDIT: solved

Do you know who is shipping that? I remember hearing that they use UPS. If so get ready for some sticker shock when you get their bill for brokerage fees. If you don't mind I'd like to know how much your total for shipping is including the brokerage fees when they come.

Hi, for FW its big Silver button on base unit of wheel, to get into booloader mode ie not on the wheel you actualy turn itself(same as you say with PS3 mode). Hold in then turn power on to wheel, then keep holding in for 10secs or so. And if you mean to check FW version on wheel(or turn fan off & on), its all 4 lower buttons on centre spoke of wheel(L3, R3, X & O for PS3. LSB, RSB, A & B for Xbox etc). Bit tricky on GT3RS v2.

Cheers BOB

ps gets me at times, don't know if there talking in PS3, xBox or PC lingo
Iv'e printed out, pics of diff wheel button assignment from PWTS manual, memory not that good at times :)

Hi all.

Just registered for the forums. I have just ordered a Carrera wheel and was wondering about the hard mounting options. What bolts/screws do I need for the hard mounting holes or are they supplied with the wheel?

Also does anyone know if I will need to update the firmware or will it have the very latest out of the box?

Thanks guys.

The wheel should come with a blueprint(one came with my GT3RS wheel) which tells you what size they need to be but not the length since all cockpits are different.

It doesn't come with screws because the thickness of everyones table is different. I think you need 6mm screws.

I think will come with the latest firmware that is not in beta.

ok thanks.

So am I right in assuming that FW 681 will not be installed?

If that is the case (and maybe the Fanatec representative on here can state) would installing the latest firmware invalidate any warranty even if it is installed exactly as par instructions (ie 100% correctly)?

The firmware upgrades and new features enabled from them including those added with 681 was a major selling point of the wheel to me...

No it doesn't invalidate your warranty

So shipments to Canada cost less than $40 via USPS, any Canadian customers had to pay additional charges or customs tariffs?

I paid $38 US for shipping. I haven't got it yet but based on other shipments I've had in the past from USPS I'm expecting to pay $5 customs fee plus GST based on the claimed value the shipper enters on the customs form.

Recieved my Carrera Wheel today. Unpacked it. Set it up. Followed all instructions to the letter. Downloaded Drivers to pc (Win 7 64) then connected USB and powered up.....

Wheel spins to the right slowly to full lock, then all the way to the full left lock fast. It then stays there with "888" on the LCD display. Will not move from that position and is not detected by PC. Completely unusable.

I think support is closed so I can't phone them but I will send an email, just wondering if anyone on here can offer a solution?

Thanks

EDIT: Same things happen if wheel not connected to PC. Have no idea how to solve this.
