Has anyone received the the GT3RS with the shifter kit from the new combo on the website?

Does the shifter kit ship in 1 box together with either the wheel or pedals, or is it a separate box?

Also, for the tuning kit, what's the expected shipping ETA, as I will be in the US only for 1 week in dec.

Thanks!

well, the wheel comes in its own styled box, as does the pedals, even if you buy them at the same time as a combo, as I did. The shifter kit likely is only boxed as its own item. I'm getting everything shipped at different times, several days apart. the shifter, more than a week apart actually.

as for the tuning kit, if i recall, about a week ago i was reiterated that it will be December.

LOL, I meant I really don't wanna getta GT3RS wheel then wear racing gloves just so I can avoid the alcantara rubbing off.

From what I remember both the GT5 & NFS demo's were compatible w/a G27 so a Fanatec wheel should also work.

GT5 demo as in the time trial from last yr?

I have it on a nightstand, It will be easy getting it onto a desk becausethe shifter place where you have the rods has a slight curve and the edge of my NS fits it.

Are u using it on carpet as well? If so, how are u getting the pedals to stay put. I hear this is a weak point

"manage attachments" in the "attach files" box.

;)

i click on the browse button to open up a window that browses into my folder location to upload my jpgs, but it says invalid file after it tries to upload any of the jpgs for some reason. i see the only accepted file types are rar zip and pdf. i dont want to upload a attached file for others to DL, just want to post jpgs on the thread.

Just use an image hosting website such as tinypic, imageshack, photobucket or some other place to upload your images. Then you make use of the image tag below to post the image on the forum.
Code:

Those are not the only accepted file types. However, if your file is too big, it will come up invalid.

Otherwise do as nick09 suggested...

Beyond that, please use proper capitalization. It takes no time to capitalize your sentences, and it is a rule of this forum as accepted by you when signing up for this forum.

I made a small wooden platform for mine. I made it elevated and angled a bit so I could be comfy while reclined in my chair. The platform itself is just big enough to hold the pedals and the metal mounting plate which is screwed to the platform. Even then the pedal assemly tips up in the front when you apply the brake hard and especially when you hit the brake and the clutch.

My solution to this was to extend two small pieces of wood from either side of the platform to about 1 foot behind the pedal assembly which acts as a lever to stop the tipping action. In my case is works doubly well as these two strips butt up to the base molding of the wall as well and prevent any slippage. So far I have had no issues at all with movement or tipping even under the most extreme conditions.

I would estimate that this platform would cost about $10 to build.

Today I finally fix my ClubSport Pedal issue with Brake sometimes not working when even pressed 1/5th. I downloaded the Dead Zone Patch on my brothers 32 bit laptop and it fix the issue!
Before sometimes the ClubSport would work 100% on braking sometimes it work only 70% on braking. The Patch fix it

Im happy and ready for GT5!

Fort Nox, can you send me link on patch, in a PM

Thomas,
You mentioned we could order the GT3RS V2 upgrade kit starting this Monday.
Can't find it anywhere in the webshop; can you let me know where can I order it?

Thanks,

Fanatec wheels work
and the clutch doesnßt need to be enabled, works from the start on without pressing triangle.

NOTE: this may be dealt with already but i can't be bothered checking back 129 pages
if anybody wants to complain to fanatec about AUS prices, do not bother, i have posted something in the 911wheel.de website and in my post i had a comment from somebody who had spoken to thomas directly and he doesnt care that AUS gamers are paying 2 or 3 times the amount

Yeah absolutely. Because I want to check out how laid back the Aussies really are...

Come on. This is demand and supply. We give the resellers in Australia the same prices as everywhere else but we cannot force them for what price they are selling. I am happy that we finally have a solution to supply to this market.

Hey - I may be purchasing a fanatec wheel soon along with the CSP.. i know the CSP stands out because of its ability to sense load.. does that come into play with gt5 or just PC games?

Thanks for the quick reply!

Another quick question - this will be my first steering wheel and I was leaning toward the G27 because of the supposed superior customer service but also the ease of plug and play.. It seems like the Fanatec requires updates and maybe even some tinkering to get it working.

I am not handy by any means and now that the Logitech is either sold out or just as expensive as the Fanatec wheel I am looking at I'm wondering if my concerns are valid.

Updating the firmware on a Fanatec wheel is a piece of cake. Beyond that, it's far more plug and play than a G27, especially when utilized with a GT game. You can map all the buttons on a Fanatec wheel, and can change the steering ratio to match the vehicle you are driving (Formula 1 car anyone?)...

I think that does it.. I should be ordering a fanatec gt3 rs v2 very soon. Thanks for the input! I guess the intimidation was just my paranoia..

Should i go for the rennsport stand or something else? Obviously since I am not handy i would like the one that is easiest to setup.

Has anyone had any issues with USPS tracking after ordering? I ordered my stand two weeks ago and after an issue (Fanatec claimed I didn't pay even though they charged my Visa and I got a Paypal receipt but they sorted it out eventually) and according to the shippers in California they sent it out on November 16th. It's November 23rd and the tracking information still says:

"USPS was electronically notified on November 17th to receive the package...."

Is this normal? When I ordered my wheel a month ago the tracking was continuously updated...when it arrived at the post office, when it left the USA on it's way to Canada, when it got into and was released from customs, up until delivery. I had to use Canada Post for the movement in Canada but with this order USPS doesn't say anything important and Canada Post has no record of this. Just wondering whether I should bug the shippers more (already sent them emails and one rep said USPS may have lost it) or if I should call Visa and send a stop payment because this is getting ridiculous.

The stand is good value for money. The only drawback (same with Playseats) is the center bar. However, on the RSWS the bar is very close to you, so it doesn't tend to get in the way of your legs.

I had the exact same issue. I received an email from Katie Brubaker (are similar) saying my ordered shipped on the 17th. USPS website still says received electronic shipping notice on Nov 18th. I contacted the shipping lady and she states that it is a problem with USPS and that it in fact shipped out on the 17th. I guess we'll see.

I too am not impressed with the US distributor. They took my money on the 10th. Sent me a notice on the 11th that it would be shipping. I thought that that meant it would actually ship. Didn't get an actual shipping notice until the 17th. I went back and read the email I got on the 11th and in the small print it says it may not ship until 1 week later. Not sure why they send you a notice that it's shipping if it really isn't shipping. Oh well. They did send it priority international so hopefully it's here soon.

Sorry, I have to disagree with there DR, I'm sure for many people updating is simple, but I and many others have had lots of difficulty before finally getting it done.

I agree, if you have a 64bit install of windows 7 or vista you may have some problems with the drivers used to update the firmware.

Anyone who has had a problem updating, either hasn't read the manual properly (easily the biggest offender) or hasn't read the instructions on the website.

If you follow the directions to the letter you will not have any problems.

It's a very quick process. Only takes a few minutes.

I have updated the firmware on my PWTS 3 times now. Also updated a GT3RSv2, and a PWC. No problems of any kind.

Running Windows 7 64bit here... As I said, all the instructions are easily available. I (like most people) did not have any problems, because I followed the directions (is there an echo in here?...
