Care to elaborate?

So far everyone with a copy of GT5 and a Fanatec wheel, I have talked to, says they work just fine.

Mine works well on all my other PS3 games.

Personally, nothing could make me go back to a Logitech, with it's huge deadzone area, buttons that can hardly ever be mapped to anything unless on PC, and no tuning options whatsoever...

;)

Totally agreed!
I would say though that the logitec wheels are prolly the BEST wheel and pedal combo for the price. Well maybe the pedals could be a better quality but they are still decent. As many of you have already said, GT5 will also be my first time with a wheel in vediogames. Absolutly stoked.:dopey:

Driving with PWTS and clubsport pedals.

How well do the Club Sport pedals work on carpet?
My DFGT pedals work really well and stay put, due to the retractable teeth at the bottom.

They're pretty heavy, and have rubber feet on the bottom. Should stick like glue, just about.

Someone who has used theirs on the carpet will have to confirm. Mine have always been in a cockpit, prior to inverting them.

Hope your right, I ordered mine on Nov 18th and received 4 USPS tracking #'s on the 19th but 3 business days later, this is all that shows on the USPS web site:

Class: Priority Mail International Parcels
Service(s): International Parcels
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on November 20, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later

Join the club. It seems we're all getting that from USPS lately.

Guys who are having trouble with USPS do not worry. I've ordered many things through USPS and it rarely updates.

USPS tracking is more for proof of delivery rather than actually tracking where the package is.

Thanks. Hopefully this is the case. I'm just hoping that once Canada Post gets it in their hands their tracking will be updated. You'd expect at least one handler to have tracking software that works or gets updated.

Same feeling here. Fanatec wheels are one class above logitech. I still have g25 for backup, but unless something happens to my PWTS, it will stay hidden :-).

Fanatec = GT5
Logitech = Forza 3 he,he,he,he,he

Using my fanatec + wheelstand with GT5 now, works like a charm, just love all the firmware options (using 681).

Shaking wheel problem was solved by Polyphony if you set the wheel to 900° - finally!

For all of you with Fanatec wheels, set it to 900, and there should be no need to add deadzone (for the full GT5 game). However, if at a much smaller setting, you may have to dial in a bit of deadzone/linearity.

;)

Fanatec :
Any news on the CSP tuning kit?

Your site still states november?

It's not urgent, just want an update.

So that may explain the left to right sway feeling when driving the Evo X licence test? what if you drive an F1 car? Will it still be 900 degrees? I have mine set to off.

Any fellow Canadians get there wheels via USPS/Canada Post yet. There still hasn't been any tracking updates on mine. I received a delivery notice in the mail yesterday and was all giddy with excitement this morning. Unfortunately it was some Iphone accessories I ordered from Hong Kong a few weeks ago. (I was actually quite excited to get that too). I'm hoping for a notice this week.

I'm not sure I understand your question. You can set the wheel to any steering ratio to match the vehicle you are in (around 360 for an F1 car). Although, as I said, at such a low ratio, you will probably have to add some deadzone/linearity (I rarely adjust one without adjusting the other).

A little bit of movement but it depends on how you sit relative to the pedals. They're heavy and quite grippy but they take so much force to push that they move anyways.

I did not understand that, it was swaying a lot it was quite irritating.

I thought the Gran Turismo games set the wheel rotation through software.

My understanding was that by manually setting the wheel rotation, then I overrode the automatic setting from the game.

Otherwise... What is the point of the off setting?

The last correspondence I had from the shipping company is that the order is lost and they will "probably ship it again on Monday.". I don't know what the heck is going on or why they would say "probably".

As for tracking the USPS still says the same thing it's been saying since the 17th of November and Canada Post can't find the tracking number in their system.

The OFF setting is 900°, isn't it? I will have to check my wheel. Anyways, I don't know about GT5 (only driven road cars so far) but in GT5P the game always ran at 900° even in F1 cars, there was no automatic setting it was always set to 900°.

:yuck: That's sucks man. I hope you get you stuff soon. I can't believe they lost it. :grumpy:

I haven't received an update either. I emailed the lady that sent the tacking numbers yesterday morning but I've had no response. I'm beginning to think something is wrong with my order.

I order stuff via USPS a lot and I've never seen their system not provide an update. Usually you get a pick up location and time, then a day or so later the tacking will report that the item has entered customs, 3-4 days later delivery via Canada Post.

Well I just checked my account page on Fanatec's web site and my order says "delivered"👎:nervous:

CaptainSlow does you order progress say the same?

Anyone from Fantec here that can explain whats happening?

I have a quick question... Just getting the GT 5 what is the most smooth and effortless way of getting a 100 % successrate enabling the clutch and H-shifter function?

there is 0,5 seconds before the race start so there is hardly any time to enable the clutch prior to the race. And also if you engage it between 1st and 2nd gear it doesn´t always register? Hope there is a better way to do this because to all the messy starts I am averaging 2 restarts I believe.

Attn Canadian racers, I placed my order on Nov 12th second day received an email saying my items will be shipped now! however, next day it says the same again and after emailing several times i got three tracking #s.

It is the same message I get every time I check online, Claudia doesn't have a clue and says only warehouse staff are aware of the situation, I reckon my/our stuff are still in the warehouse.

This is an unacceptable service delivery method, it is our right to know WTH is going on why we were charged from day one and why we can't track shipments and why it is taking so long for shipments to arrive if they ever do. Usually USPS PMI takes around a 7-10 days max its been almost two weeks now!

I hope Thomas can resolve the matter, at least refund us the shipping cost as a kind gesture!

Cheers,

I'd like to know what's going on as well.

I assumed they were coming but still nothing. It's been 2 weeks since my card was charged and still no evidence of delivery at USPS.

Someone please straighten this out

How can they not know whether it's lost or not? Man this is getting fishy. I'm starting to make assumptions which do not paint Fanatec's North American distributor in a good light. I'm hoping someone at Fanatec can rectify this situation ASAP before their reputation gets sullied

I bet they never had the product in the first place. If I don't get a reply to my emails by Monday I'm filing a complaint with PayPal.

Totally agree, I live in Halifax and I receive stuff from UK in 5 days! from Poland in 6 days. USA is around the corner and yet items are mysteriously late or heedless!

Will be forced to use my good ol' Logitech till GT3 and co arrive.

I/we are so disappointed by Fanatec so far.

Cheers,

I really do think that Fanatec needs to step in and figure out what's going on with their American warehouse and why orders have been claimed to be sent out but not.

The only thing I can think of is that they are waiting for a lot of orders so that they can send out everything at once to save on shipping. I paid $38 to have my wheel shipped a few weeks ago (it was tracked perfectly and came in six days) and on the customs slip it said the shipping cost was $58. I'm sure they aren't paying extra out of the goodness of their hearts. This kind of makes sense with the message we are getting from USPS stating that they have been electronically notified about something coming to them.

I can understand that USPS may not update tracking with packages within the States but once it leaves the country it must be scanned for all the information so tracking should be updated at the very least when it leaves the country.

I would like an explanation for Fanatec, an apology, and even some sort of refund for the shipping because of the poor customer service. If they want to be a reputable business within North America they will need to upgrade their customer service because this is ridiculous. The only thing they are risking now is a handful of people calling their credit card companies/Paypal and having the charges reversed ending up in thousands of dollars (over a thousand with the few Canadians alone in the last few pages) out of their pockets.

If you have the latest firmware sen. should show you 900 deg., you can lower it through wheel settings, but then you will have to much sensitive steering inputs. this is because in GT5 your cars wheels still has the same travel from one lock to another. The best way to settle this is if you can tune your car's steering lock to lock. For example, you set the wheel on 360 sen. ( for Formula 1) then in game you need to lower your steering setting (in GT5p quick tuning screen) from 50 to say 15, in order to have precise steering. I hope i have explained it correctly :-)

You must be one of the lucky ones. No updates for me at all and USPS received by shipping information on the 17th of November, three days before you. The fact that your update was last night doesn't give me any hope as mine hasn't changed.
