No, the customer is not alway right. This is only some old saying to make the customers happy and be friendly with them. I know this well because I worked in a commercial sales company.

And by this logic, do you think Ferrari, Lamborghini and all these exclusive car makers should listen to people and try to make affordable cars? I mean, isn't the customer (or potential customer) always right? I'm sure they would want a Ferrari for 1/10th the price. Let's try to contact Luca Di Montezemolo by twitter and other social networks :sly:

I agree that the customer is not always right, but there are a couple of things to consider here:

1) Listening to and acting upon the feedback are not the same. I try to listen to as much as possible, but some I disregard and some I use.

2) I 99% sure Ferrari listen to, and customise their products for their customers far more than PD. There is a difference between a paying customer, and feedback from the general public. Of course Ferrari make much higher margins per customer, so a little different.

3) contacting Kaz or DiMontezemolo by twitter is a little silly, all we want is an official company rep, not the head honcho.

If it's good enough for @lamborghini @porsche why not @pd?

Also, asking him about how we can get more feedback from PD, when he is clearly reaching out with the offer of feedback is a slap in the face. "hey guys if you have some Q's for me I will try to give you some feedback." Our response: "Yeah how about getting us more feedback that would be nice." Bad Idea! I would steer clear of that Question all together.

I disagree. He is just offering a one time deal of 3 questions. I'm talking about a permanent long term arrangement regarding feedback, which would the negate the need for people like Taku to have to offer special deals like this.

Plus it depends how you frame it, looking from the other angle, you can pitch it as look how awesome this was, and how much hype/interest it generated, imagine if it was a regular occurrence? I'm sure a salesman could pitch it even better.

Damn i forgot he even mentioned that, do you still remember which article that was?
I thought Kaz had mentioned that last year, but it was an earlier interview from 2007. It was Taku Imasaki who mentioned it last year. I'll post both of them.

Gran Turismo 5: Kaz Yamauchi Interview

Kikizo: One of, or perhaps the only real criticism of Gran Turismo 4, was the lack of accessibility; it was very difficult for many players to get into the game. Is this something you would look to address in Gran Turismo 5?

Yamauchi: One thing is that we now have two levels of driving physics available: Standard is more for the beginners or the novice players; Professional is a further enhanced and more real experience, where even professional drivers can use Gran Turismo as a training tool.

Kikizo: So does Standard mode offer things like braking assist to achieve this more accessible play, or something else?

Yamauchi: Actually braking assist and things of that nature are in other categories you can select; it's more that the core physics design itself is geared towards less experienced players; it picks up on your mistakes, and is more forgiving, whereas Professional is more hardcore; you know, you make a mistake, you will pay for it! To try to explain it more simply, Standard would be closer to the original Gran Turismo, whereas Professional is where we are taking it to these extreme [physics] calculations. You know, a simulator designed for the novice player is not applicable for Michael Schumacher to use, and vice versa. So they are two different things that are included.

E3 2013 Recap: Part I – Gran Turismo 6

While waiting for one of his turns at the GT6 cockpit sleds, Chunx noticed the tire temperature and wear graphic overlay for GT6 would heat up when cars were sliding through hard corners, but cool off to normal in only a few seconds. It was reminiscent of how critical injuries in games like Call of Duty recover in only a few seconds − certainly not realistic from a simulation perspective. Taku addressed that, saying that tire wear in GT6′s “Hard Core” mode will allow the player to adjust wear rates and how they respond to abuse.

So Yamauchi was only speaking about different types of physics in the background (in arcade and career or wherever).

And Taku was only speaking about tire behavior, he propably ment the "real" setting you have online for tire wear compared ro arcade or whatwver the where playing at that day.

Does not sound like a complete game mode where really everything is more realistic.
(No game aids, damage, no gifts from AI, "real" tire/fuel use and slipstream, realistic wet grip, faster AI and so on)

I know people say "don't mention the sounds any more cos we've asked a billion times", but I remember in an interview, Kaz did not want to talk about anything to do with the sounds because they were still a work in progress. Now, I can see the rationale behind that, but equally, that statement concerns me. If sound is one of the most hotly debated and criticised areas of the game, would it perhaps not be prudent to give some concrete evidence about what they plan to do and how they hope to achieve it? It almost seemed like Kaz was dodging the question, effectively saying "yes we're doing it, but I don't want to talk about it, you'll just have to take my word for it". Now, PD's "word" has a rather poor track record when it comes to being translated to action (damage, anyone?), so perhaps some explanation as to where they're going with sounds wouldn't go amiss.

Question to Taku Imasaki: Can you explain how PD & Sony justify ripping off their loyal customer base of 16 years?

Busy doing what, modelling the lunar rover? And of course I care!

Well i'm definitely not capable of answering HOW they will code better sounds. Do you expect me to answer to this question?

And it takes SOME time to build 1200 cars , ~40 tracks, game modes etc. Yes, it does. And until this day, no one did better.

You mean Lambo and Porsche make affordable models? :odd:
To me some porsche models are out of touch with the brand essence, like the Cayenne (a big, expensive, not very off-road capable SUV with the Porsche badge) and the Panamera (an ugly Mercedes/Audi wannabe)

Hey guys!

I just got an answer from Taku Imasaki via Facebook regarding trying to answer the top 3 questions about gran turismo from :gtplanet:! :embarrassed:

He replied "...I'll be happy to look at those questions if I don't have to answer them if I can't"

So, what do you guys want to know?

Edit:

I think the event creator question is very popular

How about this question? -->
1. Is there a possibilty of an "event creator" in an future update for the offline mode in Gt6? For example where you can choose the cars of the opponents, the type of start (standing, rolling, rolling beside), tracks for creating championsships and set fuel and tire consumption, drag intensity and A.I. skill.

Have you asked him any questions yet?

Sounds!
2. possible to ad more feeling you are driving fast, feels like driving 300km/h is so easy and stable and nothing says you actually drive superfast.
3. oficiall bugreportpage and communication back from PD would be great

LOL, no I mean they have decent social media presence. They still stick to their general ethos, and tradition, but they listen along the way too.

It's a tightrope that must be carefully walked:
Ignore what your customers say = bad product!
Do everything your customers ask = bad product!
listen to your customers, take on board feedback and apply that which fits with your overal vision = good product!

If a car company that only sells diablos(murci, avent) and makes a car that costs1/2 and deliver 80% performance, its an "entry car" nonetheless... If most people can't afford it, its a whole diferent ball game...
Mb/smart didnt listen(or failed to compy to cost, price, features) and its not a great seller, so they have to know how low is too low.

Updated the OP

How about...

Please feel free to change my sentence, my english isnt the best
Have you asked him any questions yet?
No, not yet, we have to choose the questions first!

Make a deadline to post, like tomorrow, we poll and presto... Ask on the 16/17/18th so he can be more certain about whats coming in 1.03 (as a bonus question...) i also want to know how will the whole dlc thing work, are there free tracks,( cars are assumable, like launches and vgts), how big can a car pack get, and if they will be themed packs or random cars

Thanks 👍, but like @stb155 said it's just about driving aids, not about a real AI difficulty setting.
Anyway i have given up hope for GT6 ever having it, and I would be surprised if they would actually bring back a proper career mode and race structure for GT7 in the end...

Gotta keep it simple and stick to things that he can likely answer. My suggestions:

1. Will shuffle racing return?
2. Will we eventually be able to race karts on time/weather change tracks in online rooms (like we can in career mode)?
3. Are they aware of the bug that results in the second set of tires wearing faster than the first set after a pit stop and do they plan to fix it?

I would think he is free to answer all three of those questions.

1- Will proper endurances return?
2- Why aren't there some sort of scrutiny board to online races, where you can see all specs of all cars?
3- Did you guys consider a event creator?

Wrong. PD can't make us buy the game. We decide where to put our money. Also, if you can't afford a Ferrari you are not their customer. The saying should go: The customers money is always right.

I agree the framing is crucial but using one of your three Q's is ludicrous. How does this look:

An intro of 2-3 Sentences describing how we appreciate this opportunity; then the three Q's; then in closing ron says something like this:
If ever you are free and willing to do so, we would love the chance to have a liaison between you and the GTPlanet community again. We, your loyal customers, greatly appreciate that our feedback is taken seriously and are always here to offer more ways to make the game the best racer for all skill levels. Thank you.

That would be a better way to address the issue, instead of asking for more feedback when he that is what he is offering in the first place. I get your frustration and am in the same boat, but let's not burn this bridge before we even get a chance to cross it.

Gran Turismo 5: Prologue had a standard/professional physics setting. From what I've heard, the standard physics model carried over into GT5 and GT6 as what is now known as Skid Recovery Force.

It even works pretty much the same way that it did in Prologue, too.

I hear ya, but thought apropriate/ funny because after posting i saw you were from barca... but look at the past 20 years at the vag group, how far they have come? From a fiasco in the usa where there was unintencional accel and burned audi for decades, now they earn money from selling a ****** up , to golfs, to ducatis, to audis, to porsches, to lambo and bugatti, so theres 50/50 chance or as close to that as they could make ,so u will consider a vag brand car. Be it to comute, dream, drive etc.
If you were between some cars in game to buy irl, and loved driving the golf R, wich dealership would you go first?
Dont know what happend with Audi/USA but never had those issues with them here in Europe. Volkswagen and latter VW Group has been a solid company all the time IMO, since it's foundation in the Hitler era. Their first car, the Beetle, is one the most important and best selling cars ever.
Wrong. PD can't make us buy the game. We decide where to put our money. Also, if you can't afford a Ferrari you are not their customer. The saying should go: The customers money is always right.
Well, the fact that we put the money to buy it, doesnt mean we have power to decide within PD.
I said the Ferrari example because it's pretty much the same, its a very likely demand from the ferrari loving community, customer or not.

No, not yet, we have to choose the questions first!
Your not going to get consensus here, just more questions.

Just pick 3 and start the dialog before he moves on to other things and forgets... Don't miss the boat!

Some tips; make sure the questions are easy for him to answer in only a few words. Yes/no, but steer away from dates and anything else hard or not allowed to answer or he'll just ignore.

Asking if he knows about the tire bug might be a waisted question but asking it like this; "is PD planning to fix the tire size issue with new rims?" If he answers we'll get 2 answers, one is confirmation they know about it, the other confirmation they will fix it, and if we are lucky when... So simple questions that reveille a few points.

Go get this started, take charge, at this point this thread is totally pointless at already 5 pages... But could be one of the most relevant threads if you follow through.

Gee, this is the first time anyone has mentioned sounds.

Seriously, though andy0a has the top three, let's do get to something else for a question to one of the top dawgs. I'll borrow andy's format.

1. Is there any chance that we'll be getting that Hardcore Mode Kazunori mentioned in GT6 this year?

2. The ability of customization and adding a personal artistic flair to cars have been mentioned before, specifically a livery editor, can we expect anything in the future in terms of editing?

3. Gran Turismo has a wonderful legacy of custom tracks. Will we be getting most or all of them as DLC?
These are my questions too.

Is there a possibility that PD can have employees of there's sign up to the GTPlanet's (The WORLD's LARGEST Gran Turismo fan site) Forum to communicate to on a more regular basis for new ideas or when issues such as bugs are found?

Well, the fact that we put the money to buy it, doesnt mean we have power to decide within PD. I said the Ferrari example because it's pretty much the same, its a very likely demand from the ferrari loving community, customer or not.

I get it, your points are there and I agree with them. What I meant was that if we don't like the product we can and should choose to not help fund it. It stinks when we purchase the game and have cognitive dissonance(Buyers remorse). That's what I see is the main issue that most people have, too great of expectations(which is mostly PD's fault as they promised so much, and also took away many accustomed features) and the game doesn't live up to the hype.

1. Given that Lucas Ordonez has raced in the LMP2 class at Le Mans, can we expect to see LMP2s in GT6 or future GTs?
Unlikely. Does Ordonez even have any ties to PD anymore?

Yes, it is necessary to specify that this is a popular request.

Then.

1. Is there a possibility of an offline event creator in an future update for Gran Turismo 6 or next Gran Turismo ?
As we can do it online with the possibility creating a championship.....
