Anyone else dissapointed in Shift 2?

- There is a bug which makes your car stop dead in the middle of the road, wrecking it. Like an enormous invisible rock. It just happened to me on road america. Really annoying.

- Also the game is running poorly on a 3ghz Conroe with a 560Ti GTX. Just to let the PC users know.
 
One thing I don't like so far are the tuning options, instead of real values the spring rate etc are in a vague slider.....it can sometime goes from 0 to 5, WTH does that mean???? mean camber settings are like that, instead of actual degrees you get a stupid slider.

I'm a bit suprised to see someone praising the game for its physics like that, but that's a pretty nice suprise ;)

The graphics not being all the rage on the consoles, compared to the PC version, seems quite natural. The strange tuning options... Well, that's plain stupid, but not that important, I think.

The better option is to just play it and have your own opinion. I will be playing it over at a friends house and if I like it I'll buy it :)

Personally, I'd rather listen to the reviewers... They may not be the most experienced guys with simulator, but I think there's a fair chance that they're not that biased...

I know my review will probably be way to subjeective to be of much use to other people. I know I'm going to rate stuff like the AutoLog leaderboards pretty high, as it's exactky what someone with a crappy internet connection needs to get some competitive gameplay :D
 
Why do people feel the neeed to complain ????? Its nfs title so obviosly its not gonna be as good as gt5 and forza but s**** atleast they made a game i can play and not get bored.
 
I play LFS and GT5, I drift in both and race and I have to say it: THIS IS THE WORST DRIVING GAME (SHIFT2). I use wheel, adjusted settings to 900 degrees and it's worster.

I've played that exact same race, and while I wasn't quite as fuming as this guy, the Elise does handle like a boat and the game will piss you off.

Yeah I guess it's not the best bodykit in the world, and the dull paintjob doesn't do it any favours. They should have just included the SLR 722 GT instead 👍

same way I felt about Shift 1, don't like it with my Fanatec GT3RS wheel...... Sorry I even got it now.... I feel a trade coming up sooner rather than later....

Shift 2 For Sale, Less than 12 hrs old.... open to offers....lol
 
Personally I enjoy it because it seems nothing like GT5 and that is exactly what I was hoping for. I'll admit I was really worried after the first race but that subsided soon after I could "set up" my car

The only thing i could do without is the commentary during the race.

Once I get bored of it, I can put GT5 back in and enjoy that some more, hopefully by then they will have added some more events.
 
Thinking of getting it for the PC, the screenshots looks pretty good, I'm running and i7 and radeon 5870, hopefully I can get the same kind of results as those screen shots.

It looks awesome on PC. Best looking racing game I've seen on PC. The only thing is you might run into trouble running everything maxed out (AA + AF included). My rig cant handle 60fps at full hd, vsync clips it to 30 a lot. I've got i5, 5870, 4gb ram.

Im not sure, I know that every car can be modded up to a racing car so it may be possible to mod it up to that form.

The road going version is in the game, and race modding it will get you to this (back to where we started) :)

Everyone is saying this version is ugly, which is why I wonder why they just didn't include the 722 GT instead, or simply copy its bodykit.

Thanks, I'll go check it out, now to find a wheel that's compatible for both PC and PS3 :)

You could do illusion paint in Shift 1, so I'm assuming you can do it here. I think it was called Candy or something? Two tone with poo brown and hot pink. That would be vomit-inducingly awful.

We should have a competition to see who can make the most truly terrible looking car. :sly:

Haha! Or you worse by getting Downtown, Yamizaki and Cocoricco (from Gaki No Tsukai) to suggest paint colours (they're known to have bad taste!) or have someone who was taught by Jimmy Onishi to it :crazy:

Not quite sure what you were expecting from a NFS game? Did you play the first Shift? Its a **** arcade game that belongs in the 90's
