Much worse.

Well, I could hit a 2 give more time. Not sure what he would run.

Still, really guys? You don't want to race if a guy is faster? He's not completely unbeatable (well maybe...). I personally like having someone that is that fast in a series. Gives me more reason to show up and give a 110%.

Really...

I quitted TOCA for good around the time that Spurgy started being a second faster than everyone else. I don't understand what's so fun about having one guy just walking to victory race after race. I want to see high stakes championship battles, not "a rabbit vs 15 turtles fighting for 2nd place, also known as the Division 2 win".

I do have to admire someone who can always race that quickly. My days of running up front have passed since my skill seems to have hit a wall and everyone else has gotten better over the past year.

I'm in the same boat as you.

How many have we got now

20ish, +3 or 4 who expressed interest and said to should if we had space.

It's not that he's faster. It's that he's probably at least half a second a lap faster than most of us. To me people like R1600 and you are fast and if I put in enough effort can run with and maybe even surpass you on occasion. And that chance that I could nab a win is what I race for. If Tony or someone of the like was in I would probably lose all motivation to try and get faster because there's simply no point. I'm never going to get to quite that high a level so why even try?

Sure, every now and then you have a great race where you fight through the pack or have some great battles. But in the end I think most of us here are aiming for the win, and if there's no possibility of that then the racing becomes a lot less fun.

Just my two cents anyway...

EDIT: That's not to say that I don't relish the challenge of competing with faster guys. That's why I like to run TTs. :)

I really don't mind aliens, since most of you already are aliens to me it would make no difference with someone another half a second ahead.. I race wherever i find racing, no matter if it's in the top of the field or in the bottom.. have worked for me so far and i keep improving my driving as long as people are faster than me so just bring it on. :)

I've done only one quick session and am running consistent 2:24.0. I have yet to nail a lap and get into the 23s, but by sunday, that will be where I am running

It's not "fun" but it's also not a reason to quit. The championship is important, sure, but racing is more than that. A battle for tenth place can be just as exciting if it's tight and fought hard over.

Different strokes I guess.

I'm way off hour pace then :scared: I'm running at low 2:26s high 2:25s

It's all right DF, you know you always got me to race against ;) I haven't tested the track yet but I expect to be in the vicinity of your times, not the faster ones.

I ran a couple laps and was in the high 2:23s, but I don't have a good line into T1/T2 and need to work on the esses in S1. I also need a lot of work at the Spoon curve.

I am sure 22s and maybe 21s will be possible.

What's the weather going to be like there?

Massive amounts of surface water on sports hards might get a bit lairy. :scared:

EDIT: It will most likely be around 17/18 laps is my guess. 👍

Ok.. people say 2:21s are possible here but yeah i'm not even clooose.. practised a bit (ok just 4 laps but i don't have much time) and I only managed 2:27.5.. I know who's gonna be in the bottom this time.

I havent read throught he whole thread yet, but this looks like what I have been waiting for. Spots still open? Now that I work this is pretty much the only time that is going to be available for me, so I would love to join you guys, even if it is only as a reserve.

Yeah, only 12 people joined last time despite the huge sign up so I am sure we have space for you.

Just so you know Dax, my teammate TheSonRises still plans on racing. He's having some issues with his internet right now, and may not be able to make this race either. After that I think he'll be good to go.

Going to turn some dry laps this afternoon to get an idea of where I'll be running.

If the race is going to be wet, then I'll be going in unprepared. :scared:

So wet rules are SH and full wets only yeah or did we go SH for all weathers?

Yes, OP changed since I last looked at it ;). I just remember the convo about it. I was hoping for that anyway :).

Having some decent enough experience in the wet here me too :P.

And based on what I witnessed, Marunda from Bee Sting Racing hates the track, but is still blazing fast around there, particularly on sectors 2 and 3.

Something about this track I just really hate. I think it's because the corners are all far too long or in too many parts.

Down to a 2:23.828. Dropped .177 in T1 and had a pretty appalling run through the last sector. So probably half a second to find out there. :ill:

Of course, this all goes out the window if it rains. :scared:

I'm going to try and get some laps in tonight or tomorrow. 👍

Do we even know what the weather settings will be? Change on 1, probably not, change on 10, it's definitely raining buckets...

I'm fully expecting having to keep the car on the track at 100% surface water on sports hard tyres.
