Apprehension for the coming update ?

Does anyone else have a pang of apprehension whilst waiting for the coming update ? The more I wait the more worried I am.
The first set of updates just kept on coming and I didn't have time to worry, since they came out regularly I thought that they'd get round to fixing everything at that rate. But now that we've been waiting for a month or so, well I'm a bit bored and a bit scared. If the next update is just "remote Bob driving" then I'm going to be really disapointed.
At the moment I'm level 30 aspec and 29Bspec, I haven't played Bspec for ages (I don't see the point) so I just do the seasonal event (great but restriction should be bought back in) and play online.
Having played FM3 from the day it came out, I'm a bit scared PD are going to do what turn10 did, ie : churn out updates for the first months and then just leave it be with occasional DLC.
I really don't want that to happen, for all the complaining about GT5, it nevertheless has enourmous potential still and could be glorious again with some well implemented updates and DLC.

I'm really pleased to see how many people have responded to this post and I've enjoyed the many opinions and view points put forward here in a (mostly) constructive manner. But we seem to be edging off topic.
What I wanted to know is : -how do we all feel about the fact that we had no significant update for this month?
- how will we all feel if february's update is just remote Bspec Bobbing ?
-do we think that PD will keep updating GT5 in a regular, effective and comon-sensical manner or do we think that the updates are going to dwindle and disapear leaving us with, as somone said in this post a GT5 "Beta" ?

GT5 isn't even at the bottom of my worry list, Work and real life stuff are more important.

That seems self evident to me. Ie me saying "worried about update" not worried in general. I just hope they keep providing for the game and the fans :)

Eurogamer: What's not perfect? You said on stage you're going to be upgrading every week, every month – what specifically do you want to work on?

Kazunori Yamauchi: That's sort of a surprise we're keeping for the future. Once games go online it's no longer the type of thing where you just make it, hand it over to the players and they go out and play it. Games will keep evolving.

Now it's released we're going to have several million people who'll become citizens of Gran Turismo. From here on we have to listen to their voice and see what they want and change the game accordingly to match their needs. So Gran Turismo really is just at the starting point, it's really the beginning and we're just going to evolve from here.

Eurogamer: You've been working on the game for over five years. How hard was it to say 'we've done enough'? Would you have liked more time?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Of course that's true and it would have been nice to have more time, but at one point we have to release the game because my imagination alone is not enough to make the game evolve to where we want it to go. We really need to listen to the voice of our citizens and see what they want out of the experience and evolve with that.

Eurogamer: On a specific note, will you be adding online matchmaking soon?

Kazunori Yamauchi: In this release we focused on the features that allow close friends to race together. Online updates are planned of course for leaderboard and matchmaking - [they're] all planned in the process of evolution

Journalist: Why did it take so long? And what is yet to come to perfect the game?

Kazunori Yamauchi: All the parts of GT are very difficult to develop and there's quite a gap between just completing something and perfecting it. In the process there's a lot of work involved between and sometimes that means getting rid of what you already have and starting afresh. That's what took the longest.

As I mentioned, we're already doing an update on the 27th to refine the usability of the game to make it a better experience. I think it's going to be hard to find an end to that process

10 GB? O rly?

Hopefully :)

Nice name, he's the best.

Don't worry about the update because yes, we're getting monthly updates for the foreseeable future. I'm pretty positive we're getting an update sometime this week, maybe tomorrow before the month ends.

It's supposed to introduce that remote B-Spec racing feature among some tweaks.
And it's a longshot but I'm hoping for a new track or DLC. And further replay "enhancements"

As far as the future goes... Wasn't PD good with updating GT5P for a long while? I didn't play it that much but I think I remember someone saying that new tracks and cars were added. I do remember the first few batch of updates. I think it's a good sign that they'll be around nursing their beloved project for a long time. That's my estimation anyway.

I am worried in general. About the future of our children.... :sly::sly:

Does anybody really know about what the update will be, or the size? Or is it the 10gb just a figure plucked from the air?

I just made it up in the hope that PD have worked hard :D
But as usual, PD never give us information abo9ut something until it has been released.

I hope so otherwise anyone on BT broadband with their stupid fair use policy will be in for a nasty shock towards the end of the month

I really wish, they gave us some confirmed DLC/update info for the near future

otherwise we all could be waiting for nothing

At 10Gb+ there would have to be some new event/tracks. All the other stuff are just fixes and are kb-mb in size. New content would really jump up the file size. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Don't hold your breath though, you might not make it to see the next update, lol.

10gb was just a joke, no?

I think smoke at the mirros would be an important addition.

Sometimes I only realize how much I have punished the tyres in the Replay.

Please stop thinking that the next update will be 10GB.
Remember people have download cap speeds and it would destroy Sony servers.
