The messed up with difficulty level on console, even on easy some races are impossibile both in career mode and expecially in special events. A friend has the game on pc and can lower the %

I've also heard that the times for bronze, silver and gold in the hot lap special events are considerably faster on console than on PC.

- This blows pCars out of the water in terms of driving but pCars is miles ahead with graphics and their weather system.

Hi Doblocruiser ;)
I love both Project Cars and Assetto Corsa, best sim games I have ever tried.
I know Project Cars FFB is almost impossible to get right, but when you have find the perfect settings it's not that different to Assetto Corsa.
The difference is that Assetto Corsa feels good on all tracks and Project Cars on about half the tracks.
Drive a car on Oulton Park in Project Cars with the "right" FFB and it is as good as Assetto Corsa.
Like I said before..Assetto Corsa,Project Cars and Dirt Rally 👍:)

Almost bought a g920 today so I hopefully can start to enjoy this game.
As it is right now its a miracle I havent thrown the game out of the window.
Its NOT good with a controller.

So! To everybody in the trhead that have posted these amaaaazing impressions of how great this is with a wheel... What wheel exactly?!
What do I have to buy to be able to have some sort of control and enjoyment out of this very much pcars version 2 game?

Tested a g920 today on a pc rigg with 3 screens and it was very impressive and great feeling of quality and robust wheel and pedals. Loved the brakepedal!
But... It didnt feel as direct and razorsharp in respons as you would get from a real car.
But would the fx wheel give that?!
If not then i buy g920 for the other things it did good.

That was explained by Stefano is his Look What the Cat Hacked in YouTube program. The AI uses the same physics but can do things you and me can't do because the AI has instant reactions which we don't.

So the AI can circumvent the physics? Sorry, I can't make much sense of the instant reactions part. The clip @35mm posted looks like something impossible is going on with the car.

Also important to understand AI uses stability control. That is why some time in conjunction with much faster reaction time that human driver, even though they use the same physic, they do stuff difficult to do for us. Still the best AI to drive with once you find the right strength setup for your talent. Do not try to beat them, just try to race them, you will find they are a lot of fun.

Stupid question but what's the difference between time attack and hotlap, other than points?
One has as many laps as you want to do and has a ghost of your fastest lap, the other only allows you as many laps as you can do with the time extensions. On the PC there is a banner over the track at the timer points. It's a shame that isn't on the PS4.

Hi Donnced ;) Thanks for this ^^^ Have you brought it then already ? :gtpflag: I might have to try and beat some of you & @doblocruiser hotlaps once I get some practice in you always pipped me to the post in the end in DC 👍

@35mm That V8 mustang engine sounds lovely, I am tempted to get one of these now they are here in the UK RHD and the 5.0 V8 made it through all the regs!

No problems mate

Yup! I bought the season pass already! The screenshots of the theme are from my ps4 btw.
And it will be a pleasure meeting again on future online leaderboards if they implement it or have some racing in a private lobby.
It was great fun hotlaping in DC against you, @doblocruiser and others 👍!

So I am on the wrong console...
This is just getting more and more expensive...
The Thrustmaster TX wheel is mechanically exactly the same as the T300. So no need for a console change.

In the Sim Racing Hardware section of this forum there has been plenty of talk comparing the G920/G29 and T300/TX if you want to look over there. The brushless motor and belt drive pairing would sell me on the TX if I was making the choice for myself.

If I make a correction on my wheel from 9:00 to 3:00 it takes about a half a second, the AI does it instantly. This means they can sometimes make inhuman corrections. They also use stability control which means the mistakes don't get too out of hand in the first place. But, he just made some changes that go towards ducking that like temporarily disabling the SC when they make a mistake a bump another car so it's a little harder for them to recover. Hopefully this will trickle down to the consoles soon.

In your opinion of course, because some of us have been enjoying AC even with a controller for over two years. ;)

What tweaks, if any, have you made to the controller settings? Have you tried someone else's settings and seen if that helps?

That clarifies the point. Still, would a real computer-controlled car react like this under similar circumstances? I think not, the laws of physics would resist and prevent such movement.

About the career mode, not only are they putting us against impossible opponents, but also the AI cars have super physics:

I know right? I did the same event and when I bumped someone in the rear coming into the first corner, the same thing happened. How is it fair? Heck, I was forced to put the AI on Easy whilst driving the Z4 in the same event because they were so tough to keep ahead of. Luckily for me, a few went into the pits and I won the race. I hope the AI gets changed in an update because I can't stand it.

I agree, it's the same sort of corporate tip-toeing that bugs the 🤬 out of me. However, Kunos has already won me over as far as interaction and acknowledgement of concerns. They've already done a MUCH better job than SMS there. So that's something.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, there is a lot that is noticeably out of character with kunos when regarding the consoles. Beating around the bush has never been a thing with kunos, they actually tend to say too much and get flak for it that being said they arent giving solid answers to a lot of things on console yet they continue to be direct on pc. Little curious about that, i certainly hope that the publisher bottleneck will not become an underlying issue for kunos. Then again this is likely the reason you get AAA devs leaving big studios to go indie with their mates.

Call it what you want.

I know I can't do that with my car.

Its said ultra grip or something of that nature. Its a failsafe last ditch attempt sort of thing. The way the AI works on console is the older way compared to pc not sure why but thats how it is. Each ai has three or two lanes to pick from, if it somehow realises it has come off the line so badly that it will be unable to return to the track then it will break the rules of the universe and force its way back onto the track. It was a problem with the old AI because how it worked was a simple IF THEN ELSE sequence. So ai says lets take this line at 50mph in lap1 and it succeeds then go faster next time, lap2 it goes at 63mph still successful, lap3 it doesnt brake, to hell with your rules im a god. Car divebombs the corner and notices that it cant survive, its day as an AI are over, its ai children will be sold off into ai slavery, its wife will integrate into another circuit board so to save its family it has to break the rules. The ai was changed quite massively with the 1.7 update and the lane system was heavily edited as well as the go faster until you mess up system was changed. the result is cars using up the whole track and dicerolls for potential lock ups. Easiest way to spot the new ai is if they easily give up on corners if you overtake just before or in it. Hope you guys get that new system soon, it seems more complex though, a massive amount of CPU resources are used by the AI and CPU is the massive bottleneck for both consoles so it may not come or get edited.

I've heard it can cost over 20 grand a time too.

$20,000?!?! WHAT. THE. 🤬?!

Just had the time of my life with this combo:

The Mustang can be a bit of a pain with its heavy nose, but the sound it makes is glorious. Great traction, too (TC off)!

Also, Zandvoort became my new favorite track in the game. It may not be laser-scanned, but it's a joy.

Nice driving! I'm awful on that track. Admittedly, I never give it track time, but that's because it made me want to throw my laptop through a window.

There is no question that shipping this game without Private Lobbies was insane. Kunos should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for doing that to the console players who've spent $$ on their product. Seriously.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, while I am on the side of ALL the console players and I totally understand their frustrations, I am 100% confident that Kunos will do everything in their power to fix those bugs as quickly as they can. Will every single bug be fixed? I doubt it. They will prioritize the bugs, of course. Everything that I've learned from the interactions with the developers is that they really do give a crap about the opinion and quality of their product. I would be gobsmacked if they just left the console version with even half the bugs/missing features that exist now. Of course, I don't speak for them. This is just based on how hard they work on the PC version whenever there is an issue, or 50.

Is the 1200hp Gallardo in the console version? I haven't heard anyone mention it.

EDIT: LOL brownninja knows how Kunos is... Funny we were posting at the same time.

EDIT 2: I would have to believe that the tight lips on the Prestige/Performance cars availability for the base version owners has something to do with 505 Games and not Kunos. I don't know why, but I just feel that way.
