I'm the same way... Really bad sleep problems. :banghead:

I couldn't hold out until my day off, still 5 more days away. Here I am now, just finished playing and going to bed.

I start work in 6 hours for another glorious 11 hour shift. Why do 5 laps always turn into 50? Why do I keep falling for this trick every time? I swear there's some magic voodoo or hypnosis going on, destined to cause havoc to your sleeping pattern.

Thanks to 35mm i finally got to see the P1 in action  But only one question wasn't answer? can you rotate the camera in 3rd person view?

Side-note using the controller right analog stick like in PCs?

Where can you set the AI level?
In the career mode you can select the difficulty of race events only (no time Attack) in the menu before the race where you can set Aids for example. Difficulty can go from easy to Alien. But it is clearly messed up in several events where even on easy you need top leaderboard lap times to win. Special events are insane, expecially hotlaps. Pcars at 100% difficulty was super easy compared to this.

At the moment i am with Lotus cars, 11% progression with something like 13 golds and a silver. I can't get the gold in the bmw event in nurburg sprint. You use the old bmw e30 vs New ones. Even on easy can't win. At the end i moved on. I'm not a great driver but easy level should bè there to make the game accessible.

PS. sorry for some mistakes in my text, T9 continues to put italian words.

Well done schumi26, that was excellent driving and I really enjoyed watching. And all without AI going to pits at all 👍

(can't wait for game to arrive, I fell for really low budget price and now I'm "dying".)

The are two races in the novice BMW series that you go against the AI with a Bimmer that is really slower than the others, and the AI pit in the third lap of four..

I realy think it's just made a proposal like that.
You start the race and they go ahead.. You got to maintain your pace and so in the third lap while they are in pits you can take the podium or win places. In the last lap you have to maintain your pace so the AI cars don't catch you up when they exit the pit again.

In the other races you receive a Bimmer that you can fight against the AI for the victory on track an they don't do any pitstop like the race above. (and in easy difficult you can win them easy if you don't make mistakes on track)

Ah...The special events, yup, those are hard, but nothing impossible if you practice and practice and practice....

is it possible to bring up the HUD of the car values whilst driving?...e.g. tyre wear, tyre temp, brake temp etc? or can they only be seen in the pits? it's in P Cars and Forza, i don't understand.

Wow, this thread has exploded  I was expecting the main forum to have lots of new threads, but it seems everyone is content to just post in this one thread instead.

Honestly, I'm glad to see console people finally getting the hand of what a true sim feels like :D Enjoy it people, once your eyes have been opened you will not look back 👍

I'm a bit worried about the poor casual reception and reviews though. I mean it's kinda expected since AC is such a niche genre, but it still hurts to see such low scores. The technical issues are in no way Kunos' fault. Consoles are just not powerful enough unfortunately. If this launched as a Neo/Scorpio exclusive title I'm sure reception will be much different. That said, most people who play AC are not hardcore sim racers and they only have a controller, so they lose a HUGE chunk of AC's ace card: the physics and FFB. Without it I can see how the game is quite dull. Shame. I just hope Kunos doesn't lose more money than they gain from this console entry.

Moving forward, I hope Kunos can patch things up and optimize AC further for consoles. For those who have been amazed by AC, I urge you all to jump ship to #pcmasterrace :D It's really the place to be for driving sims. For those who are not impressed, well, I understand your point of view. PCARS/GT/Forza would certainly suit your needs better. And I don't mean this in a patronizing way - it's great that racing fans have such a diverse spectrum of games to choose from nowadays 👍

A video of the Toyota GT-86:

And, because I'm now addicted to replays:

And this is why I'm addicted to replays:

Three notes:

- At first, this seemed like the most boring car in the world. But then I discovered that you really had to push it hard and enter corners at full speed. Then, it came alive. Really nice to play with;
- Love the dirt that the cars accumulate over time. It's the first time I've noticed it;
- Messed up the last two (or three, depending on your views) corners, sorry.

I know that AC is getting a s***ton of green cards, but let's be serious:

"RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS"

Any tech shortcoming it's kunos fault and not stating it it's a disservice to Kunos and the console users. And the missing of private lobbies is another one you see rarely mentioned like the AI lining behing a car in the middle of the track and many many other bugs and sillyness....

As much as one can trust Kunos it's VERY important IMHO to be extremely clear on the issues, bugs and shortcomings.

We have reports from @svenvangent and other users of really poor performances in some track with just 1 (ONE) car on track. This is certainly Kunos messing up something.

Not pointing the finger but in no way it's a console limitation as much as a programming/optimization screw up...

Else it might take way way too much time for them to be fixed (altought the no private room is just :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:).

Be fair, strict, honest. Kunos has a great record from their customers on PC and i'm sure they are already working on some of the issues, but being an "apostle of the new sim god on console" is not going to make things improved sooner.

That's my kind of AI; fearless and inventive.

Seriously, that almost looked like an online race, very good stuff. Can't think of many occasions with the AI in pCARS where I've had moves like that made on me. Usually once passed they fade away, seems like it's not the case in AC.

Watching videos like this is just about getting me through the days until I can play the game for myself.

Thanks for sharing the videos, @schumi26 and @35mm! I don't know why, but seeing new players whether on the PC or console enjoying Assetto Corsa so much right away makes me very happy! Probably because of how much fun I remember having when I made the switch to AC.

@LeGeNd-1 You and I definitely think the same way on a lot of issues/subjects, but I think you're wrong with some of your statements. The performance issues are 100% Kunos's responsibility. Yes, consoles are not as powerful as the typical PC player's rig but Kunos knew that going in and they still decided to make a console version. You could blame the hardware if Kunos said something like "We have been trying our hardest to get Assetto Corsa to run properly on the PS4/XBox One, however, the performance is not up to our standards. For the foreseable future we do not expect Assetto Corsa to appear on any consoles." But if you put a game on the shelves telling people it's going to run smoothly, it should run smoothly!

Now, I do think some console players are way overreacting over on the official support forum about the state of Assetto Corsa on consoles. I agree with you there...Those people are not being rational and will be eating their words once Kunos issues a patch for those issues.

Not allowing private lobbies for console players is just unacceptable. Yes, I know Kunos said they're working on them, but they should have been in the launch edition. So many console players have PSN friends that they want to race with and unless they get lucky and are able to hop onto the same server, they are S.O.L. How about Racing Leagues? How are you going to guarantee 12-16 racers can all land on the same exact server at the designated race time? We PC players don't have that problem. Heck, I could start up my own AC Server right now on the basement server in my house!

We have reports from @svenvangent and other users of really poor performances in some track with just 1 (ONE) car on track. This is certainly Kunos messing up something.

This what I can't wrap my head around. There are people posting videos of themselves running races from their console edition of Assetto Corsa with no issue whatsoever. Maybe a little screen tearing, I don't know...I wasn't looking for any and it didn't jump out at me in the vids I've watched. So, how the heck does one PS4 run 16 car full grids and another PS4 can't run a single car hot lap?

I'm not calling those people liars. I am genuinely perplexed how that happens! It's the same exact hardware, operating system & version and it's the same exact software being run (Assetto Corsa). How are some players in this thread able to run race after race after race without any serious issues but other people are claiming they can't get proper performance from a solo run. Baffling.

The BMW M4 Coupe. Constantly trying to bite you in the ass. Very snappy from neutral to oversteer if you're not extra careful with the throttle.

It's also the first car where I really felt the ABS kicking in. Great effect and very useful.

Nice driving! I'm awful on that track. Admittedly, I never give it track time, but that's because it made me want to throw my laptop through a window.
Thank you.

You should really give it a second chance. 👍

PS/Xbox thread. Get lost. :P

Seriously, that doesn't even look like the same game. Amazing. 👍
Ps4/xbox are pretty much PCs anyways so ninja 1/denizen of the internet 0

Also yeah, pc was quite bad back in the day, settting turned way down. Graphics engine was changed or altered 5 or 6 times after those came out.

Very easy... The consoles hardware uses a CPU that is focused more at the mobile site, so they don't consume to much and heat to much in two really compacted boxes.
So they're aren't as powerful as a PC CPU.

So,there's a huge bottleneck for games like assetto that uses a lot the cpu.

I also think that in the next months it will be optimised in framerate, screentearing and other details.

Kunos said that they really wanted launch first a stable game with the physics and FFB on par with the PC version... And that they really achieved it...now the base is laid they will improve, fix and add things slowly.

Well I just found this car the P 4/5 Competizione 2011, I think this car is my fave so far, the interior looks so real the back slides when you want it to and it sounds lovely. The red lights on the wheel are great too. I highly recommend this if you haven't tried it- take it round Brands Hatch GP 4pm with the enhanced filter set in video settings (makes it more natural light)..awesome

I can't get on with the controller DS4 at the moment (prefer the wheel) I have tried a few configs but the DS4 (wheel action/hands)seems to move much too fast compared to the wheel so reduced the steering speed down to 1 but now can't remember defaults and it doesn't feel right! (is there a way to switch back to defaults anywhere?) Or which settings are you using for the DS4 controller (PS4)..or even xbox one to see.

For the wheel I am using @Zakspeed_TV recommended settings on the other thread and this hits the sweet spot on the above car and will leave the FFB at 55. 👍

Overall still enjoying it for the short time I have had with it this weekend although it is hard to even keep up with the AI if you are not concentrating fully I wasn't going to give in but looks like I may have to lower the difficulty until I know the cars/tracks much better.

About the career mode, not only are they putting us against impossible opponents, but also the AI cars have super physics:

AI most likely used SC ( stability control ) that looks to me alter ( recover lost grip ) the tire/chassis states in physics ? No stability control in real world could do that even with perfect reaction time by the driver, it looks as if it regained tire and chassis grip/control instantly. Maybe you can try drive the same car as AI with stability control ( increase the % slowly ), same track/corner entry and intentionally replicate what AI did, I think you could do what AI do :P

Why is your video have echos of some sort ? Are you recording it off screen ?

I use a Thrustmaster T150.

To switch to defaults settings again in controller mode switch from wheel to controller and the advanced settings will go back to defaults.
