I had to send mine back when it did that.
I had to send mine back when it did that.Might be worth contacting Thrustmaster even though it's out of warranty, not sure what they can do but it's worth a shot. One thing to try, turn your wheel all the way to the right (or left, I forget) before you turn it on, sometimes that will force it to work.
I was talking generically, because it's a legitimate thing for some people which is worth discussing.Your one of the people who should of known not to buy AC if that's the way you feel. You were warned what takes priority in AC. It was stated all over here long before the release. Nobody to blame but yourself if your unhappy about that.
Earlier, I forced it all the way to the left twice, and it worked both times. However, it makes me think it's the beginning of faults
You can try thisEarlier, I forced it all the way to the left twice, and it worked both times. However, it makes me think it's the beginning of faults
PS: Would love to go PC sim racing, but simply cannot afford it, so I'm stuck with PS4 for now.
it seems that they have watered down the game in general as regards options & certain funcionality.
That really bums me out to hear you say that you might just stop sim racing altogether. I've seen your name here as long as I can remember - you've always been quite active on GTPlanet which leads me to believe you really enjoyed this genre. Thanks to everyone for sharing all their perceptions & info on this game. I didn't pre-order it, & will never do that again with any game after being let down by GT5, GT6, & P BUGS. So it's nice to get lots of feedback before deciding what do do.
I have almost entirely given up on sim racing & am on the verge of seeling off all my gear, mainly due to $ony's repugnant licensing deals with various wheel manufacturers, & the mess that was Project CARS. I also still can't get to grips with $ony deciding that I have to pay them a yearly fee to be able to use my own internet for multiplayer. Add to the mix the bad online in DC, P CARS, & Assetto, & I find no point in online racing anynore (which was my main stay in GT). I haven't raced online since early 2015, & that was in GT6.
While it's great to hear that Kunos haven't watered down the physics for the masses, it seems that they have watered down the game in general as regards options & certain funcionality. Now that Fanatec wheel support has been removed, I see little point in buying it, as I wanted to use my CSR. I'd love a great sim that also had great online multiplayer with all the bells & whistles regarding options for public & private lobbies. AC isn't quite there from what I've gathered from this thread.
Questions: what options are there in public lobbies on consoles at the moment? How does it compare in funcionality to GT5 & GT6?

Please don't actually tempt meCome to the dark side. Sell a kidney or something.![]()
I agree. You won't be able to max out all the graphics settings, but to be honest there isn't a huge difference in my opinion between some of the settings minimum to maximum. Some, of course there is a noticeable difference. A fairly decent video card and a fairly decent CPU are all you need. Certainly nothing fancy. Then you can tell Sony to shove it.I think 500 bucks buys you a capable PC already, just hook up your CSR and voila.
Silly me hasn't, I'll try that.
Yes.It is probably toast. I returned mine to Costco, brand new one shipped the next week. Hopefully you can get a replacement. I saw the videos and replys. Sucks bring, they had
Yep, exactly that. Is it a fault? I've had the wheel longer than a year, not sure when the warranty runs out.
And MS for that matterThen you can tell Sony to shove it.![]()
No, they simply disagree with you. Wind it in.
Bro if you want a true Sim,go buy a real car and go to a track day. Why bother stirring up a hornets nest? It's a video game, they will always have some shortcomings. I honestly haven't seen a developer put out what's on the cover/box yet.No no one disagreed yet, if you read the thread in full i wasn't addressing anyone on here. Does anyone want to stand up and defend the start procedure in AC?
Forza gets a lot of hate for its arcade style starts and i see AC as pretty much the same start procedure. But at least Forza doesn't have some magic driver door that shuts on its own for no reason whatsoever.
I expect for a 'sim' the chance to have car in neutral at the start of the race and for me to have a bearing over how successful my start is. Sorry, i really can't just be me surely?

You have a point, I am retracting this comment, it expresses my feelings toward PCars in the wrong way and is below me, sorry about that. You did well until going all out stupid >_>

@dopedog It doesn't bother me at all. Find it an unimportant factor.
If it would be important to me I also would like an engineer to belt me in, a grid girl infront of my car, a journalist asking me questions and a kiss from my wife before taking off(like that anyway) and taking fluids through a tube while racing

For what it's worth false starts were just introduced on the PC side in 1.7, I'd presume they will be coming to consoles eventually and then you'll be able to put your car in gear before the lights go out.
I'm sure the peeps in here could come up with a decent setup within a given budget. I think @doblocruiser 's argument is valid too: it's better than not being able to race at all. And it will certainly go a long way towards the 500.I think 500 bucks buys you a capable PC already, just hook up your CSR and voila.
Thanks for the information. Anther refreshing and helpful and unsnidey reply from you. Your a credit to this place, if only more people (me included) could just be nice like you and not try to score cheap pot shots, the world, let alone forums would be a far more pleasant place!
Genuinely, i know the word genuine and forums don't always go together but i mean it mate.👍
