Yes you are right it takes more time and money to make a completely new track I know .
For me it is not necessary to have 100.500.000 + 1 different layouts , give me one good track and move one to the next one and new challenge is waiting .
You're assuming there is a next one to move on to. I get the feeling that you think we would have more tracks in the game by now if Kunos didn't "waste time", in your opinion, giving us those additional layouts. I very seriously doubt that. They can't just model any track they like. They need a license agreement and those aren't cheap.

The amount of extra time spent on making the National and International circuits out of the Silverstone GP layout is minuscule compared to the time it took them to build the GP layout in the first place. Two small sections of tarmac needed to be added to connect the missing parts and I guarantee that those two little sections were modeled during the building of the Silverstone GP layout.

They move some orange cones or whatever they use on Silverstone to block off the sections that are closed, make new AI lines and whatnot and now you end up with three layouts for barely any more effort than it was creating the GP layout in the first place. The same thing is true of Barcelona with the GP & Moto layouts (The GP layout is for Communists :P) and Red Bull Ring. Even Nurburgring needed very minor additional work to create entirely new layouts. I don't even know what else to say... :boggled: Maybe race cars should come with 1 skin too! :P

@Rizzy13 I quite quickly developed a real hatred for that M3 Drift at Magione event although I passed it after 30 attempts. Cannot imagine I will ever achieve gold.

The steering issue you talk of is caused by the unusual and extreme steering lock on a drift car. You may have missed it but turn fully one direction while stationary and look at the wheels.
They turn almost 90° which explains why with the analog stick at full lock you don't turn much at all. They are simply not facing the corner and are near perpendicular to the car so drive is being stifled and not propelling you in the desired direction.

You must have far more subtle turn-in with a shallow angle of approach.
Yeah I did notice that. I was just like what the?! It looks so weird lol. Thanks for the info. I'm gunna try the event later on and see if I can do it. I'm 1 second off the bronze time and I take some turns super slow.

I need to try a regular car and see how it turns for me. I did an online event and used the 12c and I turned all the way but I couldn't get a good feeling of the turning. I'll play around with some other cars soon.

Thanks a lot for the input. I really appreciate it!

Nooo ...... WHAT ...... Only 1 skin for one car .......nooooo are you serious common at least 2 :P

I was actually a little bit mad when I heard we were getting the Maserati Levante. Truthfully. Yeah, it was free, but that means time was being spent on the Levante that could have been spent on a Lamborghini Huracan Avio instead. :D Then I remembered the world didn't revolve around me plus I have no clue what Kunos might be contractually obligated to do. Since it was now on my system I figured I might as well try it. It won't be a Top 10 car in my rotation, but it was 100 times more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Plus, I'm sure some model of the Porsche Cayenne is coming so we should have two SUVs that we can race head to head. At least on the PC we do have access to a ton of rally tracks, simple dirt roads, snow covered tracks, etc... I can finally see why so many people like it.

Seriously? I've seen my fair share of PC snobbery when reading sim racing forums, but I've never seen someone mention SUVs being a factor in those people's opinions of why they feel the need to bash console sims. Geez... I guess it shouldn't surprise me...there are just so many fools on sim racing forums. :boggled:

I'm exactly the same way. I enjoy a race probably as much as anybody, however, I actually prefer just driving with like minded people. No checkered flags. The only point is to enjoy our cars, maybe show off a little bit...

Even if there were not a single bug in the console version, sadly it would still be like a completely different game than the PC version. There are so many things that didn't land on the console version and I think that really sucks for the console players. So, @lancia delta hf if you can afford it get yourself a PC that can run Assetto Corsa. Heck, you probably use a computer at home for surfing the web and stuff, right? Get a laptop. It's portable, it'll be your home computer and your gateway to Assetto Corsa heaven. Just make sure it has HDMI or Display Port output ports! :D

If you like cruising, there are so many layouts to blow hours on. Heck, there is a WIP of Targa Florio which is 72km long! 45 miles of driving that loops around. This particular layout isn't the greatest quality because it's only like version 0.5 right now, but it's totally driveable. Anyway, if it wouldn't be a hardship and you are really digging AC, I say you do it. You don't need some crazy water cooled i7 CPU, 2x980ti in SLI with 32GB RAM either. Fairly modest settings run it just fine. Come join the cult, I mean, the community!! ;)
I have a laptop but it's now running properly at the mo. I've considered a pc so I can use mods but I just prefer consoles for gaming, dont want to put up with the headaches that come with PCs. In other news Marco Massarutto has said we're getting 24 Porsches this year.

The season pass will only be for the Porsche packs anyway.

I am slightly confused about the DLC, :boggled:. I preordered AC from the PS Store, which gave the Performance Pack. I stopped by the local GameStop and charmed them out of a preorder code to get the Prestige Pack :D. If I order the Season Pass will that get me all the content that is currently available on the PC version of AC?

For the consoles, I think Season Pass gets Japanese Pack DLC, Red Pack DLC and all Porsche DLCs.

Don't really know what all the fuss is about the AI?! I don't think I've been hit off once yet, for me they're actually quite decent. Had a few good battles. Although the one thing I find annoying is that in career sometimes they put AI in much faster cars that are impossible to beat ('hard' usually gives me good races but I have to put it on easy to beat the faster cars).

^ What he said.

Found a nice little run in the career now, the Tatus championships, great fun really enjoying it, certainly worth getting to the championship stages and wasn't that painful to get there.
I like to hot lap and have done since ToCA 1, but i do love racing and I'm getting enough out of career now to say it's not that bad, you'd think it is when you are racing those BMW's, but it gets better.

I quitted at the BMW events

For what it's worth, the track layouts problem, for me, is a UI issue.
The game is saying to you, hey look, this slightly different layout is as different as a whole new track, because each have their own icon.
If they just let you select layouts after selecting the track (preferably with some visual indication as to what's bloody changing!), it would make the track selection more honest and less cluttered.

Anyway, got to say, fricking loving this game.

I kind of agree with you. I find that it's much cleaner with something like this: Select Track Name on the right side. Left Side shows a preview photo and the available layouts are underneath to select.

It's 6 of one, half dozen if the other. If they had Nords split into sub-menus for each layout type (Sprint, GP etc.) and the another sub-menu for each individual layout, you'd still have people complaining about a cumbersome UI with too many button pushes.

Yeah, a streamlined UI is important on console, but something more similar to what @ALB123 mentioned above could work.

Just Nurb > Varieties.

No need to differentiate types first.

Yes, this was the one thing I criticized after seeing the console UI. FM6 does it nicely by first showing the track logos and then have sub-menus underneath those showing the different layouts for the chosen location.

Pressing "enter" every now and then is arguably better than always scrolling left and right for too long.

Still six of one and a half dozen of the other. I probably have close to 50 layouts and I can go from one end of the menu to the other in three or four seconds on my PC.
